Just met Tim to pick up the Burns Bass VI I purchased from him. He travelled out of his way to meet me at a location that was convenient for me. We had a coffee and chat and I was fortunate to get some bass-playing guidance having asked for some advice. Bass itself was as described and in lovely condition. Tim is a brilliant chap and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and deal with him again. Thanks 👍🏻
  4. Thank god you posted something. I was beginning to think I said something wrong with my last comment cleared out the thread . . . I don't have an HX right now but all of these will be acheivable - Blue Orchid with a bit of fuzz (Clawthorn maybe?) and octave. - Joker & Thief - couldn't really hear the bassline until the synthy bit at the end. - Phycho - compressor and clean to begin with and then a more synth-based sound. I'm sure you'll be able to achive with fuzz and filter There is a useful demo of synth patches here which might be worth a look HTH . . . maybe? 😬
  5. To be fair, this video demo sounds pretty awesome. GLWTS.
  6. I think you’d like it. And if you can’t justify the experience and expanded knowledge of bass gear, what can you?
  7. The short comment section by Ian at around 5:57 is actually some of the best advice I've heard re. pedals etc. Doesn't stop me doing completely the opposite mind you 😆
  8. Dan sold me his OC-10. Was in great condition, as described, and well packaged. Thanks 👍
  9. Top marks - Andy bought my Cali76 and was great to deal with - quick payment and straight forward comms. Thanks 👍
  10. This really is a very brilliant amp and it really is very loud. I have to use the volume on my bass as a master adjustment as anything above the first notch with minimal gain is too loud for the house. It’s bloody brilliant paired with my BFST3. Other benefit of this over the OTB is that it last a turn-on and go amp with no need to warm the valves.
  11. Hi @stingray588 - this is in the process of being traded. I'll close this thread as it's just waiting on the logistics of the courier now so a done deal.
  12. Nothing says ‘new baby’ like a new bass. Its a celebration and an investment in your legacy and their inheritance. I’d go big to be honest.
  13. First sale of 2023 and first purchase for someone! For those browsing and loosing strength, please refer to: 😉
  14. 100% agree with you. I chucked in my OTB for this and don’t regret it. I’m almost tempted to get this as a back up. GLWTS.
  15. Not at all 🙄 .... I have a history of buying pedals and kit in the hope that it will make me play better or at least inspire me to practice more. It rarely does and in the case of compressors, generally, even though it sounds great to me when I listen to demo's on YouTube etc, back home I litterally just can't hear or feel the difference. I did the same with the Atlas a before this and a string of others before that. It is in large part probably due to my ignorance and inability to spend time really exporing the technology and settings and the other part being my lack of skills playing the bass that doesn't bring out the best in the compressor in the first place. I'm actually thinking of pressing the nuclear button and getting a Quad Cortex just so that I only ever have one thing to ever think about / focus on and never have to buy (or have the excuse to buy) another pedal or effect again. Pretty sure this would be the cheaper option in the long run 😆. Let's say, it would provide prently or headroom for me to grow into....
  16. Purchased mid-November and briefly attached to a Pedalboard, this is again basically brand new and purchased from Andertons mid-November 2022 for £139. Insured postage to UK address included in price.
  17. Another chance to benefit from my endless gear churn and indecision . . . . this is basically brand new, bought from Andertons for £299 two months ago. I'll include insured postage in with the sale price (UK only).
  18. Out of interest, how do you find the compressor(s)? Were I to try this again, ideally I’d use it stand alone so would consider dropping the Cali76 CB.
  19. Cheers - I’ll take a look
  20. Looks like it's been released and in stock - there are a couple of YT videos landing at the moment also so I'm going to wait for a few more reviews before taking the plunge https://www.thomann.de/gb/two_notes_revolt_bass_preamp.htm
  21. I had one for a short while - it's a brilliant little thing and I think it's definitely just my aesthetic taste that's the issue! I'm actually considering trying it again as I want something with a drum machine in it for practice
