  1. So true - Scott and Ian are epic players and I dare say probably more technical than Guy.
  2. He says around 31:30 that this is his 'B' board or nightclub board so I guess not concert or studio level kit. Still, good to know it work for someone of that experience!
  3. Excellent interview - really entertaining and interesting. I seem incredible that people like Guy are as successful as they are and yet still get impostor syndrome. Its actually quite humbling and inspiring.
  4. De-fretted SR505 with La Bella black tape-wounds. Having this back in my hands makes me want to get hold of a 4 string fretted SR …….
  5. @Maff_ purchased my BF Big Twin. Lovely guy to chat with, came out of his way to pick up the cab over the weekend. Super-easy to deal with and as good as his word. Thanks and welcome to Basschat! 😃
  6. I honestly think this would sell for double the asking price on another site ….. but that wouldn’t be the right thing to do. Unless no one on Basschat wants it of course 🤫😀
  7. Purchased at a really decent price from @Cat Burrito on here not long ago and I'm returning the favour to someone else! When I saw it, I just had to have it and I knew it wouldn't be a long term hold. Only a couple of months into the year and my BAS has taken over . . . . 2 incoming basses and I litterally have no where to hang/put them. So, this needs to go . . . as good as it looks, it won't be useful to me sat in a box under the bed. It's a really lovely condition with no marks or damage to note on. 8. I need to look at that. I don’t mind the general wear over the top edge as this also blends in with a natural shine from the rubbing of the forearm but I would like to touch up the other bits by the pick ups 👍🏻
  9. I’d not even thought about that tbh - but it’s a good point and you are right that I’d unlikely change now. The B string on this is pretty deep and flappy - like a double bass.
  10. So, my trusty SR505 was the first "expensive' bass I bought around 10 years ago. I subsequently dropped a string and moved onto the P Bass where I've been for the past couple of year. I got bored of the Ibanez, although much loved, and was thinking of selling it on. Then I thought, how can I convince myself to keep it? Obvious. Personalise it in a way that you'll never want to let it go (and turn it into something that probably no one else will ever want to buy 😆). So I de-fretted it giving me (a) a style of bass that I don't have and always interesting to noodle on and (b) a 5 stringer which I can practice chords and other stuff on. The work was done at Charlie Chandler in Hampton Wick and, despite a frustrating five month wait time, I picked it up today. The work looks amazing and suits the overall look of the bass. It sounds fantastic and the stings are a lovely match. I had no idea how much La Bella Black Nylon Tapewound 5 Strings were but my tears of joy at seeing the bass turned to howls of pain when I paid the bill! Anyway, these are strings for life as far as I am concerned so I'll enjoy the endulgence whilst I can 🙂 Anyway, back to channeling my Pino vibes . . . .
  11. That looks lovely and feels like a great price - GLWTS

Congrats - looks amazing. I bet it sounds even better 👍
  13. I just traded my one as I prefer P to J and yet, whenever I see one of these, I just want it back. What is wrong with me?! GLWTS . . .
  14. in lovely, working condition. Price includes posting within UK.
  15. That's a very gouda 🙂 although I think it definitely has a Italian influence .....
  16. Up for sale is my Bugera Veyron tube amp. This is slim-line 2,000-Watt class-D amplifier with tube preamp and an optical compressor. Full specs can be found here https://www.bugera-amps.com/product.html?modelCode=P0AED Overall condition is excellent save for a couple of scratchy pots when adjusting and could probably sorted with some contact spray. Comes with power cable, original box and instruction manual. Price includes insured, tracked delivery within the UK
  17. Up for sale is my Barefaced Big Twin with silver cloth and beautifully fitted Roqsolid case. Overall condition is A1 - I really can't find a mark on it save for a couple of minor scuffs on the bottom / bottom corners as you would expect. Full spec here https://barefacedbass.com/product-range/Big-Twin-2.htm (2 x12 / 1,600W @ 4ohms). Its incredibly light at just over 20kg and relatively compact for such a punchy beast. It has wheels on bottom for convenience. I've paired it with an Orange LBT and also Bugera Veyron T (also for sale) and you couldn't want for a cleaner and punchier tone that will handle more. Truly outstanding. I purchased this cab here last year for a few gigs I was doing and it's an absolute monster. I've since purchased a Quad Cortex and plan to run direct to PA. I'd love to keep this but I'm running out of space and need to make room for all the other gear I seem to be rapidly accumulating at the moment 🙂 . I would consider trades for a US Fender Precision like an AVRI. Delivery can be arranged within the UK at additional cost.
  18. Jimmy bought a pair of JBL reference monitors from me. Lovely guy - quick and easy transaction with no hasstle payment. Many thanks 👍
  19. I am very jealous. And, at the same time, I find your wisdom and planning truly inspiring! Good work.
  20. Nothing to do the old men hitting 50 and wanting to have something as a special present? Not that I'm 50 this year or looking for a 1973 P Bass. At all. Definitely don't contact me if you have one to sell. 🙄
  21. Recently traded my Flea Jazz against one of these. Amazing finish and really lovely sound from the pick-ups - deep bass with a raspy tone. My wife thought it needed a good clean when she saw it and I had to explain that it was designed to look like that 😀
  22. I’ve got a hi-mass fender bridge I’ve just taken off and MIM P that you are welcome to try if helpful.
