Exactly the same here. I shipped my Ashdown Evo IV 600 using two fruit boxes from Costco, putting the amp in one and then turning the other over and locking it down. Wrapped the amp in loads of bubble wrap and it was basically cocooned in the boxed. Arrived there safely and got it back (repackaged) in the same packaging which I thought was resourceful and a thumbs up for my packing skills!

It's not right. If it was an inside job it was a cack-handed affair. -
Just bought @d_g's Musicman USA Sub Sterling. Saw the ad, messaged, paid and picked it up within the hour. Dan let me demo the bass in his studio - all was good and as expected. Cracking bass from a lovely guy. Thanks. 👍

Odd. Very odd. Something is just not right 😧 -
Thanks @Nickthebass - I sent it back to Dave at Ashdown in the end and they serviced it - seemed to resolve the issue ok.

Darkglass AO500 went up in smoke. What to do next?

Slightly off topic question but I'm curious, if you only had a DI for the last song, does that mean you were playing to a 3,000 audience festival direct through a 500 watt amp / cab? -
Wow. They should get a drummer that can keep time whilst they are looking for a bassist.
-
Wow. That looks very ABM600 influenced. Apart from the tuner 😆

Bought a BF Super Twin from Paul who arranged a courier to send down to me in Surrey. Super-easy transaction and cab arrived safe and sound and all in perfect confition within a few days. Thanks matey 👍 C

I ordered this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/164519392808 I cut it in two and use one between the cabs (stops the rubber feet from the top one marking the top of the other cab) and fold the remaining bit and it fits like a perfeect rectangle under the Terror Bass over the cab handle.

I love it and no issues with the volume. I do sometime wish I had a bit more treble but that might be due to my playing a P Bass on flats through the rig! It’s a great set up and so portable.

So, what else is available in the market with valves at this level of power output at the £1k - £1.5k mark?

I kick myself for waiting on getting one of these. Not only have the prices gone up but Scott's Bass Lessons used to have an affiliate link to get 15% discount. All it, my indecision will cost me the best part of £300!

@Merton purchased an HX Effects unit from me. Really easy to deal with and quick to pay. Met up 1/2 way to hand over the pedal and had a chat. Lovely guy to deal with 👌👍🏻

Nice playing - spectacular bass on that Rio track (2:25 onwards) 👍

Its a sensible suggestion but if we stop playing it I actually think it will build up more anticipation of the 'return of The Chain'. I think my band are continuing to play it so that it actually normalises my anxiety - ie. if you screw up, you screw up, so what. That's so true - and I know it. Book arrives today so its my first priority to get into it. Thanks Thats the one. I feel your pain 😬 That is also true - that sense of combined failure. If you screw up individually you might look silly or probably no one noticies / quickly forgets. If you screw up as a band, everyone just walks off and finds something better to do. But that feeling of hitting it hard and nailing it as a team is just unbeatable! I was so fed up last night / earliy this morning that I started playing about with the riff and I think I might have found a solution that my fingers can deal with in a stressful situation. If think I can play it all on the E string. A little clunkly and won't win any technique prizes but if I can at least actually play the notes it might get me back on track to a good place! 🤞

So, I found this thread after once again completely failing on my 'The Chain' solo live . . . again. Helpful info (thanks) and I've ordered "Inner Game" and I'll take a look at the Alexander Technique too. My issue happens everytime we play live although even in the studio practicing I also feel the pressure. I always struggled with the riff but have practiced for hours at home and I can definitely play it OK ......but as soon as we are on stage and my time comes, fingers go all to jelly and I lose all co-ordination in them. It's defintitely psychological but I'm stuggling to overcome it. I've actually got over the 'looking like an idiot' bit as it's almost comical now but I want to be able to play it solidly for the band as its a great track and the rest of the crew love playing it. Its just odd as there are plently of other bass-led tunes I can lead on fine (Dreaming of You, Town Called Malice, Heavyweight Champion, Start! etc.) and I feel totally confident stepping into them. I think this is just such an iconic bassline that I feel I can't match up to any level of competance. Help! 😭
