  1. I think this is absolutely brilliant. You plug in wired headphones and then bluetooth phone to have backing tracks or whatever. I use SBL app as a tuner in the absense of anything else. This Mustang also does allow you to change effects and amp sims which I rarely use but its good to have occasionally. https://www.andertons.co.uk/fender-mustang-micro-personal-guitar-amplifier-2311300000
  2. Thanks 🥺
  3. Totally. I'm just a regular consumer who reads the side of the box and assumes that 1+1=2. If I can't actually get the 500w clean through 2 x 400w cabs and neither the manufacturer nor the retailer is educating me then I'm bound to remain clueless. That said, I wound't know 500w from 400w or 300w it it hit me in the head - I just go by how it sounds in the room or on the day - either it works or it doesn't.
  4. Yes. I bought it to match my watch 🤣
  5. Saw them on the Lexicon of Love tour at the RAH a few years back and they were ace. 👌
  6. Thanks matey!
  7. Decided to pull the trigger on the full Orange set up. Really pleased with the sound as much as I can test from home. Will put it through its paces at the next rehersal in the studio but if I'm honest, I quite like this sat in my front room as a piece of artwork 🙂 I have noticed some resonance in the amp on the open A string - a vibration which is audible but which disappears when you pick up the amp. Not sure if this is just the accoustics in my front room, something loose in the amp or just a lot of virbration from the cabs. I can always leave the amp on the floor but that's not idea and likely to get kicked. Perhaps a foam cushion between the amp and cab might also work.
  8. Sounds ace 👍 Makes me want to be playing in a rock band!
  9. Jetglo Black it might have been once apon-a-time but right now it looks more like sticky spray can tarmac-black over damaged wood
  10. Interesting. I alway assumed (although never actually checked) that strings got slightly narrower from ball end to the open end. If that is the case than that would give an interesting playing dynamic to this.
  11. That's fascinating - I missed that original thread but will be reading up on this. I'm coming up on 50 and never really considered that I might need a warchest for music-related projected - love it! GAS never relents 🙂
  12. Funnily enough, I came across this today . . . .https://www.andertons.co.uk/b-stock-bass-guitars/b-stock-:-gallien-krueger-fusion-550-bass-head-repair-116997-tatty-box
  13. That is so cool and such an amazing thing - congratualtions! You hear about all the 'popular' bands that run for ever like the stones, cure etc. but so lovely that there are regular bands that have such a life and longevity. That would really make we want to come to one of your gigs just to hear that sound which has been developed over such a long time.
  14. Very tempting. I’d like a J to accompany my Player P and I’m up near Market Harborough next weekend…
  15. ^ this. I'm at my absolute worst when I can't really afford something - I buy and then sell and then buy and then sell just to have 'had it' but never actually necessarily wanting it in the first place or really appreciating it when I have it. It's most a physological state I suspect where I have to prove to myself that I can have it if I want it. My best and most considered purchases are generally when I don't impulsively dive in, just wait and really check in with myself if I really want and or need whatever I'm buying. It sort of just allows me to play out the purchase-and-sell routine in my head without actually having to go through it. 😉
  16. Basses et cetera right? 😄 I have just two at the moment. I don't want loads of 'standard' basses as I don't have the skill to actaully appreciate the different nuances of their sound . . . . but equally I don't have the skill to justify buying an expensive or rare bass as it would be wasted on me. I suspect one day I will save and buy ad very special bass and just hang it on the wall as a thing of beauty and up from time to time to play and adore.
  17. Awesome looking bass and I bet it sounds wonderful too. Congrats!
  18. Lovely - lot of shiny bass for the money there. GLWTS
  19. That moment you leave the room for a comfort break and your band mates decide to have a play with you new toy ….
  20. One day I will learn about trustrods and how to set them
  21. I sold my ABM600 and already having sellers remorse. Was just too big to have as a back up for my newly aquired OTB 500. That said, I got a cracking price for it 🙂
  22. Good one for us. Headlining at a PTA event with around 5 other bands. We were in the final 10:15-11:00 slot which was in danger of being around the time that everyone had to go home to relieve babysitters. Needn't have worried as everyone was still there, predictably drunk and having fun on the dance floor. Good times!
  23. I remember seeing them (and PWEI) play there in the late '80s. Cracking venue.
