Oh yeah and sometimes I have a Fishman plat pro EQ for the double bass too, di to the digital desk so another 31 band EQ on there!
-
My 'for big gigs' head is one of these, I struggle with a basic eq at the best of times so I can get myself in a right mess with this, in fact I can mess up the FET channel along the top row, then mess up the valve channel across the bottom before messing up the global EQ for the main output section on the right, that's before you start pushing in the extra buttons! There's just as many things to mess with on the back panel if you do finally master the front, lol.

I lost all faith in popular music during the Kanye West Glastonbury performance, I tuned in to see him perform live with some of the world's best musicians only to hear a toss backing track and him stood on his own!

It's just a competition to see who's record label has the most money to bribe the radio stations to play their stuff and get it trending.

It was totally lame, he only did the screen, the song was crap and never really got into a groove.
-
I'd imagine it was a worthless replica with no engine.

Some of their best songs are played on a Ray, anything other than a Ray for Another One Bites the Dust would be criminal, he always swapped over for that one even in his prolific P bass days. Great player, probably my favourite. I'd actually associate him with his natural (sanded off) P Bass more than anything.

I don't think that is true at all, I watched a programme where they went through all his guitars that are all stored in a big rack, they were all fairly normal looking.

Ha I've got 14 more years of clanging and banging left then! :-)

I can definitely be done, I just don't think I've got the desire to put the time in these days, lol.

That's great news, I'm still looking after the fretted version I bought off you!

I'm far too ham fisted, I think I've come to terms with that just being how it is now.

Ashdown Rig - what power am I getting?
stingrayPete1977 replied to Martin_D's topic in Amps and Cabs
That will be at 4 ohms so with a single 8 ohm cab you'll be around 300 watts. -
Ultimately how many guitars and basses does the world need? A mass produced product with an indefinite shelf life that doesn't really wear out was never going to be the best long term business model was it? As for the new EB I think it looks ok but nothing better than something for a couple of hundred quid from Ibanez or Yamaha etc.

Their basses are much more popular though and they are making them well at the moment, I think most fender buyers are happy with the product without fender trying to innovate, same as Ric, the buyers just want a well made version of their tried and tested staple products.

Sad as it is it wouldn't bother me if they stopped making basses, there's nothing that gives me gas in their range.

I think it would be well worth a try, those Jazz fives have never been great for B strings, the 2012 onwards are much better.

I've come to the conclusion that I don't like passive basses, I think it's partly the amp as what I like and use works with my active basses but not so much with passive ones.
-
It certainly looks nicely made.
