SOLD

Friendly term for a supporter of the dullest football team in London :-)
Gooner? Anyway...we will be playing at "Tha Garage"
2. Same warning from Kaspersky... Firefox in my case..
  3. I read happily for singing and piano, but not for bass... Weird... :-)
Damn, I'm an only child! Anyway, slightly off topic, best thing would be to be able to memorise each song and do away with the pages altogether - which I'm totally unable to do! I'm a reader through and through, whether it's notation, or simple chord charts, or even scribbled letters such as A, Bb etc. I loathe tablature, though. Does anyone agree with my pianist friend who believes that musicians are divided into readers and memorisers, and you're either one or the other, but very rarely both?
4. One day I'm going to have 4 x Barefaced S12's in a 8x12 stack :-)
  5. "Hell is other peoples children" ..
  6. It's quite sensitive (according to the interweb 101 db/1w/1m) so I suspect it will be fine for small gigs with 300 odd watts from your M-Pulse... As an estimate it's going to be about 7-8 db quieter than your "big" rig...
  7. Cheers... To be honest I'm in two minds about selling, it may well join my MIJ Ibby SR765 in the "it's worth more to me than it's worth in the market" cupboard :-)
  8. 4 ohm or 8 ohm? According to the spec sheet it can be either - not sure whether this means it's switchable or that there are two variants...
For sale my Tecamp XL612 cab..as the name would suggest its a huge sounding cabinet, very versatile due to the multiple voicings on the horn attenuator. Great condition also extremely manoeuvrable for a big cab due to the fact its only 35Kg.. No posting due to size, collection welcome or meeting buyer is also possible. http://www.tecamp.de...2.html#overview £6OO
9. I use Hercules GS414's (neck grab) - and even with my dinger there's a good six inches of clearance at max extension (oh err missus) :-)
  10. No probs, you'd think they'd know, but I'm constantly surprised by how little they usually know...
It's what I got told by the bass guy in Mansons - apologies for relaying professional advice, I wasn't to know it was incorrect!
11. I've had positive experiences with an Osteopath after months of physio made no difference to a knee injury.. I literally hobbled in on crutches and walked out without them 40 minutes later.. Also members of my family have had similar (if not quite as rapid) experiences with back problems and glue ear....
  12. Really? the 12AX7 I replaced in my 3500 a few years ago must have been a figment of my imagination then? :-)
Head wise, get yourself one of the HA's, make sure it's the 2500 or the 5500, not the 3500. The first two have genuine hybrid amps (solid state AND valve preamps with the ability to blend between), the 3500 for some reason only had a valve emulator that wasn't as good.
13. I've cut up and used a camping sleeping mat.. Dirt cheap from Tesco's etc....
  14. Doing some rationalisation 4 Ohm EBS Proline 410 with Cover and Castors for sale £325 or trade (with cash adjustment) for a BF Midget/Midget T/Compact.. Based in South Warks... It's the bottom cab in this stack.. 103 db/1w/1metre, adjustable tweeter, about 40 kg..
  15. http://www.soundonso...es/diboxes.html See bit on connecting amp outputs.. I was surprised as well :-)
  16. My first thought was "Caramac"
Well, each to his own I suppose. It looks to me like it was made out of an old sideboard.
As an owner of an ABZ that looks like it was made from a table stolen from IKEA I should be careful about commenting :-)
  17. I think it's about how you feel, since it's hard getting other band members to change their minds.. God help me, I'm in four bands at the moment, one an aspirational blues/funk/jazz monster, two others (with a crossover in personnel) in which we have a driven MD and great musos, but a lazy drummer who treats rehearsals as an excuse to shag his bird of the moment whilst he thinks his missus does not suspect anything is going on (the obvious solution is in discussion at the moment) , and a local band with guys I like, but two of whom don't want to practice enough/effectively or learn new stuff in a structured way.. I've come to the conclusion that without sensible self critical practice sessions and wanting to take on new material I'm not going to be happy.. And that makes my decision about continuing to invest time and effort in something that won't work for me...
  18. And probably a picture of the amp in your possession would work better than a stock picture...
  19. And what was the dealers reaction? I'm puzzled that somehow it's now down to you to fix the problem... ? Or is this something else I don't appreciate about having Fenders?
Just recentlybought one of these and it sounds/plays well except when you fail to touch the strings - this seems to remove the earth connection and results in a really annoying high end fizzing. Took it back to the dealer and all of the basses on their wall had exactly the same problem. Do Fender test these things? Anyone any ideas how to remove this kind of problem - I'm going to try to add shielding, but on a new bass!
20. Don't get me started.. 2k for an IEC (kettle lead)... Mad mad mad...
Fair point. In that case Victor Wooten endorses a mad expensive totally hocus power cable too, cant have a bass rig without a $3000 dollar cable for power from the wall to the rig now can you! And interconnects made of platted silver leprechaun ponytails...
21. Dear Bluejay, May I proffer some advice... ? Remember that 1. you're dealing mostly with getting men to agree to turn up someplace in the future 2. these men are of the musician-type persuasion.. So my suggestion would be to find somewhere close to you, announce the location and the date and see who turns up. This will bear little or no relation to the number that said they will . You can't please all of the people all of the time...
  22. Or most graphic EQ's have enough level to drive a power amp....
If you really want the 'straight to power amp' sound you still need to boost the level somewhere. Lots of studio preamps really are flat, and often the compressors and eqs can be bypassed totally. Look at something like a Presonus Eureka or (my favorite DI ever) the Grace Designs m101 or the m103 if you still want the full-featured pre.
23. Yup, if you come up this way Mark is a good guy.. I only live 15 mins drive from BD :-) I suspect you won't find a wider range of fivers in the UK..
  24. I presume the Bass Gallery is not a million miles from you?
Have been toying with that idea for a while. Great looks and amazing tone. I just wonder if my girly hands can cope really with all that stretching on the bottom strings
