1. I've got a Behringer V-Amp (the rack one) and although fun, cheap and cheerful, has a pretty nasty effect on normal bass tone even when "bypassed" ... But given they're going for £50 or so it's an interesting place to start...
 2. these might work as well... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=140674028926
 3. Do you have to be called Dan, or can anyone have one? :I could change my name if that makes it easier
 4. Cab Sold to Mat (monkeynuts) - lovely fellow....
 5. You must be kept busy complaining about all the other P and Jshaped basses out there then.... Perhaps you've not considered that some folk like the look of a P Bass but want something different/better? Or are required to have a "Fender" type bass by style gurus? You don't work for Apple by any chance?
I'm not trolling. As for "......a take on a P Bass that I like?......" My whole point is that I don't like any takes on P basses or J basses. Do you think they could have achieved the same sound with a different body shape and a different pickguard. Yeah, probably. So why didn't they. Because they want to chase sales using someone else's design.
6. Apparently there is a refillviewer 3rd party utility... I've never used it, but feel free to google about it..
 7. If you don't like it just come out and say so, don't beat around the bush.. Sheldon makes weird basses as well - I have a modded ABZ which I adore... But guess what, most of the guitards I play with don't notice either the fact it's got five strings or fan frets.. If you don't like Sheldons take on a P bass that's fine, but guess what, that's only one mans opinion and Dingwall are clear who their market are.. Perhaps you could point me towards a take on a P bass you do like? Or are you simply trolling?
I have read the whole thread. In my view, the manufacturer could have created their own pick guard design but has deliberately virtually copied the Fender design. I think that is very poor, with no justification ..... other than chasing sales by riding on someone else's coat tails.
8. Welcome to the S12T club.. :-)
Finally got my new rig. Picked up the Super twelve T yesterday from Alex and Bobby at Barefaced. Lovely guys, had a great chat in the chilly basscave. Alex showed me his destruction testing (dropping cab down a flight of stairs repeatedly). I'm pretty satisfied with how sturdy these are built put it that way! Some great things happening there in the near future too. Another happy customer here
9. Interesting cab.. I suspect it's not for me though.. cheers
Interested in an Acme Low B2 ?
10. Sure, I have a saved search running for them.. :-) the other option is a proper "Jet Fighter Pilot" "bonedome" style helmet :-) http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cbb91405a http://www.ebay.co.u...=item4160483bd5 http://www.ebay.co.u...=item3cbfe42b1c http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-ASTRONAUT-PILOT-HELMET-FLIGHT-HELMET-TK-4-/260917435235?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cbfe41b63
Me too! I want to drive my Mk1 MX-5 with the roof down in the summer, wearing a flying helmet and goggles They do come up on ebay, but I'd need prescription lenses in my goggles.
11. PS Whatever you try, test it on a tiny bit first.....
 12. The only hat that appears to look good on me is a Chinese army Ushanka (Russian winter fur hat).. Not terribly appropriate for gigging though.. I am, however, trying to get my hands on a suitable flying helmet with googles though :-)
 13. Bumpity Bump.. Although pretty certain to keep one of these, so you get to choose which you like best :-)
 14. And of course, to make things worse, it takes a while living with a cab to work out it it really works for you....
 15. Indeed, proof that ragtime keeps you young.. :-)
That would make you about 140.
16. I remember when the gramophone was invented and we all thought us musicians would be out of a job since there was no need for loads of people to play music anymore As long as people enjoy live music there will be musicians...
 17. I could not put this better myself
It just sounds like some very naff Return To Forever offcuts. The tripe they jam out but would never dream of putting near their albums. Too many hoary old key sounds, and a sort of naff faux-retro vibe. His tone is awful too. No, I don't really think much of this at all, and as a big RTF and fusion fan it pains me to say that. I would love for fusion to be re-invigorated and for some great players to really get active and refresh that genre. Sadly, I think it's cheesy rubbish like this that has done the genre in, because it was essentially watered down rubbish like this that spoiled things the first time around. Some of it also has a bit of a Level 42 flavour, as if Mike Lindup said one day at an early 80's soundcheck "hey guys, lets play some tuneless rubbish. Mark, you can do what you want but make sure you keep it meandering and aimless. If by chance an original sounding lick pops into your head, store it but don't play it here". What a load of dross.
18. Duracell Procells.. Nuff said...
 19. As another very very happy S12T owner, the handles are fine... Why do you want big tonka toy handles on a 20 kg cab with wheels? Having a lightweight cab changes the way you think about moving/lifting stuff completely.. Every guitarist I play with goes green with envy as they're lugging their heavyweight heads and cabs around.. :-) I don't think the Neox and S12 are directly comparable.. The S12 is smaller, lighter, more efficient and uses better drivers.... That's an illuminating link...
Its great to see such support for a UK manfactured product! Clearly Barefaced seems to be the players choice! The Berg is really pricing itself out of the market, especially as it dosent have Neo drivers so Ive ruled that out. Iam going to listen to a Neo 212 as everybody who owns one seems to Rave about it...At £700 all in its all great VFM. For the the same spec BF S12 you are looking at £750 (and I'm not even sure if that includes the Neo supplement). To S12 owners, what are the carry handles like...Practical?? They look flimsy..... Will listen to the Neo X and make choice from there.. MM

You should definitely give them both a listen if you can, and choose with your ears. But FYI the Barefaced Super 12 spec is not the same as the GB Neo 212. I believe the drivers in the Barefaced are superior 3012 based ones wheras the GB is a 2512 based driver - there's another thread on here about it... http://basschat.co.u...of-neo-drivers/ somebody please correct me if I'm wrong!
20. Hi, I'm sure it's lighter than a ampeg 810, but I suspect heavier than the EBS Prolines individually.. and bigger :-)
 21. Bumpity bump
 22. You'd only be disappointed.. I was :-)
When I was a teenager beginning to play I really wanted a Rickenbacker, but I couldn't afford one, I still can't. But that was my dream bass.
23. Impressive vendor response.. BTW my Samsamp Programmable is as quiet as a mouse..
The Bass Driver Deluxe as well as all our pedals have very low self noise. Is the hiss still there when you turn your bass guitar volume down? Are you plugging directly into the Bass Driver and then to the efx return or are you patching the pedal in the loop with the efx send feeding the input of the pedal?
24. Just bought a cover for my S12T from Roqsolid.. Arrived within 5 days of ordering and I did not ask/pay for rush treatment.. Fits perfectly...
 25. I'm in three bands - two playing bass, the third playing keys.. Whichever band makes a solid booking first for a given date wins.. I've not had any issues so far, but I've made it clear to everyone..
