I wouldn't take it to just any amp tech. You want a proper enthusiast.

How was Your rehearsal last morning or night ?
WalMan replied to nilorius's topic in General Discussion
Not a bad night. Worked through arrangements for two new numbers, one new, the other just as a change of style. The new one took a while but it was all good stuff to sort the ending and work through arrangement of links between verse, chorus, etc.. Then we were looking for a different way of finishing the set for the next gig - landlord (who plays) has the occasional sideways comment of 'always the same songs'. There are certain standards, but we do change the set around and regularly add in new stuff, added to which the guitarist writes the sets and keeps track of what we play and where so things change around. We have, however, been running through variations of: Don't Stop Believing, Don't Stop Me Now, Final Countdown, Living on a Prayer for a while now. Works well, and all bangers for a crowd up for a dance and a sing but it's good to mix it up sometimes. Difficulty is shifting stuff around the set like that in 1) finding equivalents to replace them with, 2) adding some intros; and 3) if they are being moved back in the set not peaking too soon...sticking them into encore options seems a waste. So decisions, decisions that ended up with a suggestion of finishing with the newest song we'd been working on near the end of the evening and quickly sorting tweaks for intros. Runs the risk of falling apart putting it there as its first outing or just being met with blank looks and a killed evening, so fingers crossed!! Good news was that the Tokai Hardpuncher that I acquired recently was bang on it. Sounded great through the studio's Ashdown head / Eden cab combo. Great solid fundamental tone with lovely zing and bite on top of that. It's slightly strange that after years of active 5's I have come back to loving my first J (albeit a FrankenJ with an active pre) and now a P copy with noiseless EMG's. Hipshot d-Tuner/Extender now added to both as I love those. -

I think the pricing is at an odd point. Not enough to be premium, but too high to be budget. Just kinda sitting in no man's land.

So I’ve had half an hour playing with mine essentially as a stomp-box. I’ll have a better look tomorrow. One thing - my phone Bluetooth won’t find the anagram on the Darkglass suite (iOS). Bluetooth is ‘on’ in the Anagram, but it just won’t find it. Going to wire into the laptop tomorrow and update it

Link removed. Most genuine news stories don't need to break up 'full story' or 'watch video' unless they are trying to evade spam detections. and the only places I can see on the net with that story point back to that same place, often with AI images and no details.

My thoughts exactly. It's so obviously made-up tripe (the post. I wasn't silly enough to click the link). Has someone hacked Greek's account? He usually posts pretty sensible stuff.

Pleasure. I like the look of that Yamaha. Their PA stuff is excellent these days. They bought out Nexo, a high-end PA brand, a few years back and they've obviously incorporated the tech' into their own stuff.

Next ... the Bunsen Honeydew bass. With 'meep' onnthe headstock...

Exactly what the f*** was it posted for?

A bit of wet sanding then 6 more layers of lacquer. Getting flatter, but I was a bit cautious with the sanding. More tomorrow.

I found the body and neck of a Symphonic bass in a skip many years ago. Gave it to a repairer pal who fixed it up and sold it. I wonder if I should have kept it. Probably collectable by now. Love the photo - the good old days of miming to the record. No attempt to make it look live. No cables to the instruments and not a mic' in sight.

That's the dodgiest jack-shït web page I've ever seen. More red flags than the battleship potemkin. Lots of characters from non-latin fonts to greak search engines. Don't go there and if you do, don't click anything. It's a honeypot targeting the gullible. Mods... please remove the link.

My lights have lasted for ages. However I've just had to order the third pair of stands for them! Hopefully the Gravity stands will last a bit longer. I was hoping to get some lightweight aluminium stands but they won't extend high enough for lights, so I had to have taller steel ones - should be more stable anyway. I'll let you know how they go. Anyone got any opinions on Gravity stands? My guitarist bought a mic stand recently and that seems quite good quality. I'll stick with my K&M though - it's standing up well (geddit?! 😁) to regular gigging.

I remember buying my Flea Jazz. I was tryinh it out along with some modern jazz basses. I couldn't get a tone I liked, the guy at the shop said you prefer a more traditional sound? He plugged me into a rumble 100 and lo! There was the sound I wanted. -
I just heard back from a bass player friend who has a PhD is electronic engineering, also happens to know Mark Gooday a little. He said to return it. Should not be that way and could be simple or expensive to fix. I emailed the big online seller and they said they would send a free return label. So my great deal kind of went out the window. Bummed about that. Might ask if they have a tech in the area as I would really like to keep it. Such is life. I appreciate all the help and advise. If something changes, I'll update.

I've had my lead for quite some time now and it's done a lot of gigs... and the jacks are still gold 😁

Rob was true to his word and delivered the bass exactly on time so I could put it all together, with help from Julian Mullen, and gig it the same day! IMG_1990.mov -

Everyone is going to be rooting for you. Just getting up and being there is an achievement everyone will appreciate. The moment you start playing you will be too absorbed in the moment to worry. Nerves and excitement are not negative emotions they prepare you. Afterwards you'll wonder why you worried and be grateful for having such a special opportunity.

All this talk of the Spark has made me realise how lacking the drive is in my EBS Microbass 3. Love the clean sound, and it can get a bit warm if pushed, but cant get the drive sounding as i want it. it’s warm, but loses clarity.

Problem solved guys.Thanx.
