This advice offended one Basschat member so much that they left when I gave it. But it’s true.

I’m not saying there aren’t, I’m just countering Kev’s idea that using an actual synth is more the mindset of the bedroom player.

Anyone solder wires into mains plugs?
Steve Browning replied to Steve Browning's topic in Repairs and Technical
Like putting wheels on a tomato, I guess. Not experienced a worn cable personally. I was mainly thinking of the effect of the cycle that, apparently, gradually loosens the screw. I wonder how moulded plugs are done? -
There are quite a few high profile players using these kinds of pedals on stages: Mohini Dey, Chris Wolstenholne, Mike Gordon, off the top of my head.

I know the paint man that used to work at Sims, he's my next port of call The bass was always stored after gigs. I don't think he ever cleaned it -

thanks ...i never intended to have so many but my problem is i can't sell any .. i see positives in all of them ...probably getting a little out of hand to be honest ...a precision was my only bass for many years but i sold it ...i wonder if i can sneak another one in..?

Admittedly they're a bit of a wild claim, but let me reassure you that when the guitarist f*cks his volume setting up and you've neglected to put a limiter on the mixer, the result is mind-buggeringly loud.

1956 Fender P Bass @ Tom's Guitar Shop

That’s literally down the road from me, I’m gonna go have a look at the weekend. Quite surprised to see a bass of that calibre in that shop, it does seem like a bit of a novelty market shop but I suppose with Trinity, Greenwich uni and Ravensbourne in the local area there are a lot musicians and music / art students hanging out around there. Not that any of them will be able to afford that bass. (Although you never know, there are still lots of international billionaire trust fund kids coming to London to study). - Yesterday

Ernie Ball getting into the string mute game
PinkMohawk replied to PinkMohawk's topic in Accessories and Misc
I got an email saying that they're still waiting for them to arrive, though it should be in the next few days. Didn't buy from the same place as you though, so we'll see whose shows up first. -
I’d say the absolute opposite, synth pedals are for bedroom players or as a compromised solution for gigging where you can’t / don’t want to use an actual synth. Look on pro stages, there’s a lot of synth bass, not many synth bass pedals.

I’ve got terrible GAS for a Novation Peak - anyone got one? Any hints, tips, irritating quirks?

I hope it's a bit lighter than my Database combo (400W 1x15) - that has it's own gravitational field! My back loves the fact I don't gig it any more 😁

The categories are to make duplicate threads unnecessary. Also, the benefit of more than one listing might not be much. I suggest sticking with amps and cabs, because your potential customers will know where to look. -
I have one of the old wedge shaped Ampeg BA-108 practice amps. It is a bit chunky, but sounds like a bass amp and can just about handle a low B. Ampeg have some new amps out these days though from 30W upwards, that might be worth checking out. My main gigging amp is an excellent Fender Rumble v3 500 combo, but I have no experience of the smaller amps in the range
