  1. Past hour
  2. Might work rather well, I doubt you'd ever use the bridge P-PUP soloed but it might blend very nicely with one or more of the others. If it were for sale at a decent price I'd certainly give it a go, especially as it appears to be wearing a bunch of cream Dimarzios, defo my fave PUPs, the colour has a huge effect on tone
  3. If you intend to slap it and play amplified rockabilly style (I do, and also have a Stentor) the strings are almost as important as the bass.
  4. Sorry for late reply , been busy. I recently took the amp off and serviced it. I took an old Halfords bike carrier apart. Cut it to the desired length, swapped the locking mechanism around so it works as a stand. I put some prosecco cork stops in the tubes to protect the carpet. It hold the old school Peavey bass combo, about 31 kg. It's not a pretty stand but the combo conceals it.
  5. Yep - Bb as last bar of Intro, verses, choruses, and definitely G# as last bar of bridge. Also, B (not G# as I originally had it) as last bar of chord sequence after the key change. I think I'm pretty much there now. Thanks to everybody.
  6. How odd... I shouldn't try to follow such things in the small hours! Sorry for the mistake.
  7. You only need half of those If you got rid of everything fret wise above the octave and every part of a fret on the two treble strings, you could make it a hybrid fretted/fretless and do all the pointless noodling on the bits real bass players don’t use 👍 #joking
  8. Great little cab SIM pedal with XLR out and thru port. Quick and easy to load and recall IRs. Has velcro on the bottom. Price includes UK postage. https://shop.hotoneaudio.com/products/omni-ir?srsltid=AfmBOopi3ArFUFryqxYVEzkyrXBmaNhRmgzbJ5g42nlMt8_bBx44r1P1

  9. Great keyboard, recently replaced the pitch wheel as it had started to drift. Perfect now though. All in great working condition. Collection from High Wycombe or meet up preferred, but I can look in to postage if needed.

  11. Thanks @TheGreek, the immediate pressure to sell is receding, so I'm beginning to change my mind and may well keep it.

  13. Not sure how to price this, but here goes: I have a Sushi Box Finally V3 DI for sale. The snag - it is slightly defective. I ordered this on 5 February 2025 and paid about £220 or so (US$275). It arrived a few weeks later and I paid £50.26 in import duty and VAT etc to Mr Royal Mail. https://www.sushiboxfx.com/product/finally-v3/ It sounds amazing, does exactly what I wanted it to do. It gives a lovely warm fatness to the tone - since I started using it, I've had a lot of compliments from non-bassists about the sound. It is a tube DI using a 12AU7 valve, and includes a variable switchable HPF from 30 - 120Hz. There is an issue with the HPF circuit on this particular pedal, which means when it's in use, it becomes microphonic, in the same way a defective valve does. At first I thought it was the valve, but after testing it became clear it was an issue with the HPF. That meant it didn't work for me, as I had it on a board because I need to do lots of effects and input changing, and every time I pressed anything on the board, it thumped through the amp etc. However, if you're using it in a situation where it's not on a pedalboard, or it's an 'always on' pedal sat on your amp , or in the studio, you won't notice it. You can also switch off the HPF, and use it just as a valve DI. It's possible to switch out the valve for a more aggressive one, giving you saturated overdrive tones if wanted. So - it works, it's just a bit noisy if you touch the chassis when the HPF is engaged. I've had a warranty replacement that works. Has Dual-lock on the bottom. I'll start at £250 posted but happy to listen to offers.

  14. For sale, my Radial Tonebone Bassbone OD preamp pedal. A two-channel bass preamp with HPF, piezo input for double bass, DI out and switchable overdrive. A great pedal, I used it for years to double on electric and DB. Made it really easy with the dual EQ, switchable HPF, boosted input for the DB and tuner out. I've gone to more separated signal paths now (still via a Radial I/O!) so this is just sitting around not doing anything. Comes with original box, papers, and PSU. NOTE THAT THIS USES A 15v CENTRE POSITIVE PSU so you need the proper power supply or one that can feed it the correct polarity supply. A 'normal' Boss-style PSU won't work and will fry the pedal (as I found out with another one of these - this is the replacement one I bought). Recently PAT-tested too. Has Dual-lock on the bottom. These are now RRP £439! £260 posted.

  15. Behringer XTouch universal control surface for sale. Motorised faders, LCD scribble strips - ideal for use with a laptop if you have Behringer XR18/X32R etc. I've used this successfully with Reaper, Logic Pro and my old XR18 mixer. It's just not being used now as I tend to do everything on the laptop and for mastering/editing I have a Presonus Faderport. £230 posted? (Sorry about poor pics - it's not as filthy as it looks!)

  16. Fabulous dual channel preamp! I use it for electric and doghouse and if I’m using 4 and 5 string. Good luck with the sale.
  17. It makes me want to avoid walking past any of the (numerous)'nail bars' on my was home from the workshop for fear I freak out! Because I have five litres of the fecking stuff to get through AND I HATE IT!!!!!!
  18. Let's face it, they and their ilk are a pretty small proportion of modern pop music. You'll find few songs in the Sixties or Seventies charts with straight eights as a bassline, and those bands that did use them often were more sophisticated. I used to think Dire Straits basslines were simple in the 80s, they seem sophisticated now!
  19. What do you feel about the smell of acetone?
  20. So while I assemble the bits and bobs for the re finish - another task: The somewhat manky rosewood saddle needs to be changed seeing as we are going all ebony. I wasn't subtle getting it out ... in with the 3/4 inch chisel and resistance was futile. As you can see some stripping has been started. God I hate the smell of acetone in the morning! A saddle cut from some nice ebony ... I curve-chamfered the ends in a decorative manner and glued it in ... I'm stripping the bass by installments - the f holes are tricky so they get done separately from the rest of the top ... did I mention ...I HATE THE SMELL OF ACETONE. Next update will probably see the bass stripped
  21. @JazzyJ I started in October after 30 odd years of electric bass. I’d echo what @Burns-bass said very different but hugely rewarding. When you hit a note and it just blossoms out it’s fantastic. enjoy!! jonny
  22. I took delvery of my new GS last week otherwise i would have ripped your arm for this!
  23. Yup! Use the multifx for everything it does really well or well at least well enough e.g. modulation - all types (chorus, flanger, phaser, delay etc.), dirt, compression (if you're a fan), tuner and then buy a dedicated pedal or two to fill any gaps. In my case, that's now down to multifx + synth for my little gigging board. Nice and compact and as @Jack has spotted, actually not too bruising on the wallet, particularly if you buy used.
