Probably. Sorry the reason most people are either being vague or just recommending what they use is that we don't really have the information we need to properly answer your question. What's the situation? Band? Type of music? Volume requirements? Will this be going in to a pa (yours or supplied?) or backline? Do you also need some way of hearing yourself? Etc etc etc. Really the only thing you actually need is a DI box or something with an XLR output, and even that isn't actually necessary. Nothing to stop you just taking a normal guitar cable and plugging the bass straight into the mixer.

Price drop now £115! Inspired by both new and old, the AfterLife has FOUR different internal analog circuits that provide 2 distortions and 2 fuzzes. Providing plenty of headroom and a ton of gain, these four selections will cover all the distorted ground you’ve got. While the outside boasts a lone Mode selection knob and a Volume control, there’s more under the hood to this one. Internal adjustable trimpots are available for all four modes, with parameters like overall Volume, Bias, Gain and Filter. The enclosure is 100% Solid Aircraft Aluminum Machined. The artwork on the front and back is laser-engraved, and each AfterLife pedal is 100% hand-wired and hand-built. Collect from Chesterfield or add £5 for UK postage. Cheers! Sam

For a multifx with amp & pedal emulations, usb audio interface for recording, DI box, tuner, looper and even drum patterns built in, a secondhand zoom B3 would fit the bill and hard to beat on cost. Although this model is a few years old, the sounds still stand up, and it is still the easiest multifx I have ever used.

Returned to The New Inn in Buckingham last night. Not as busy as has been but still a reasonable amount of people who seemed to enjoy us. Landlord and Landlady were very complimentary. Our singer had a bit of an off night as she had had a tooth out the day before and was on some pretty strong medication. Will be back there next year.

3 possible reason: 1. They stop gigging 2. They realized how practical multi effect units are 3. They are in separation from their partner and forgot the pedal board when they moved out 4. (Bonus) They realized tone is in the fingers 5. (Extra bonus) They grew up and started playing upright

***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

Thing is, in even the best case, I'd only really want the board, power supply and maybe two thirds of the pedals, so it would have to be a pretty awesome price to make up for the faff of subsequently selling a few things. None of the prices I've seen so far make it worth it - £1000 goes a hell of a long way designing ones own board!

It's to pay for the truss rod adjustment to be done properly.

Hey, I'm tempted by getting an old 80s Vigier 6 string electric, I think there were HH Arpege or HSS Passion. Has anyone played one before, was it a Kahler trem and what was it like to play and sound?!

Up for sale is my boosey and hawkes excelsior 3/4 double bass. I’ll start by saying that I bought this to learn upright after being an electric player, how hard could it be right? Keeping in mind, I’m no expert on uprights, but apart from the items listed here, to me at least, this plays and sounds great and has a nice low action. I was using this to play country/americana and it fit the sound really well. it has a vic’s dual piezo pickup and adjustable bridge, strung with eurosonic ultra lite synthetic gut strings. things to note, this is an old bass built in the 70’s and has had some bumps and scrapes as I have tried to show in the pics, no serious dings or holes. The neck finish is starting to come away, but does not affect the playablility as far as I can tell. the bridge had to be modified in order to use a pickup for a gig (yes is did it your Honour) and while the bass is functional, I’d recommend getting a new one and having it professionally fitted. the pickup will require a preamp for use, I have been using a Fishman platinum plus pro eq which I also have for sale in the effects section. collection only due to size, welcome to come and try. £600
