I had already had a long day (piano lesson in the morning, met a friend in the afternoon), and arrived an hour early. I chatted with Steve, and others, and listened to the first performer. By 8:20, I had run out of stamina, and decided to leave - before Steve had even started his set! Back home by bedtime.

Disappointing new bass day...I would appreciate some opinions.

Sorry. Just been proved wrong. Hellzero thought the crack to be excellent, therefore, some must have made it through to his pipe. -

Bought new by me back in March, but it hasn't found a space in my workflow and therefore is being moved on. "A ‘parallel generative’ synthesizer combining two very different approaches to synthesis synonymous with the so-called East Coast and West Coast schools. It sports two sequencers, two oscillators and two envelope generators, along with a wavefolder and a novel (for Moog at least) dual-mode filter. Labyrinth feeds its two fixed-wave oscillators, outputting sine and triangle waves respectively, into a mixer section offering the addition of noise and a ring modulator. The mixer output is then faced with a voltage-controlled wavefolder (VCW) on one hand and a filter on the other. These two circuits can be placed in parallel or in series, in either order, and between them provide enormous scope for sound sculpting" £450 ONO plus £5.79 delivery. Based in Sheffield if you want to come collect it. Delivery will be 1st class recorded.

Great job on all fronts! Catchy 80's vibe and quality production by Haunting the Atom. Nice one!

Up for sale is my 1-of-25 UK Limited Edition Rickenbacker 4003 BRG (British Racing Green) with checker binding, in its original vintage-style silver Tolex case with the certificate, keys, etc, and the scratchplate sticers, etc! This bass is in exactly the same condition as it was the day I received it back in 2017! Mint. In all honesty, apart from a few strums when it first arrived, it has had less than 10 minutes playing time! Reason for sale: well my priorities have changed over the past few years and I can no longer justify holding on to my bass collection anymore...someone should be playing them! This bass is listed on Ebay and Reverb, with their respective commissions added, so you guys can get it a little cheaper! Collection from Worthing is HIGHLY preferred: postage for this, insured, is around £200 for the UK, £350 for EU and £450 for the US. It'll be painful for me to sell this (and my other basses), but I feel its the right way to go.... No offer please: this bass is already a bargain! I've had months of messages from dealers offering me "the price they can get for this bass minus their 50% markup", so I just want to sell this to the right person, and "end user", rather than a "middleman". You know what I'm saying...?! Oh...and I have another listing on here too.....! 🙂

Some thoughts You can only adjust what is there in the first place in terms of power and tone. A passive or active bass makes no difference, provided the tone and punch is there, a good preamp peddle should do the trick. Abandon you attachment to the sound of yourself in isolation and focus on what it sounds like in the mix. e.g. I love the sound of a Stingray in the mix but don't like the tone when solo'd. GL

Recently sold a pitch shifter pedal to Magnus. Sound as a pound, great comms, prompt payment, chatty and no nonsense transaction at the same time. A pleasure doing business with you.

Up for sale is my unicorn-rare 1974 double-bound Maple finish 4005WB. It comes in a NOS black Tolex case, imported from the US, and made specifically for the 4005 basses. I think this was the last one they had in stock. These "WB" 4005's are VERY rare: there a many that you see with the standard rounded front edges, but the WB is an altogether rarer beast! You hardly ever see these...anywhere. The bass is fantastic for a 50 year old instrument, it plays great and has very minimal signs of use, despite being used by a French session player for 15 years prior to my purchase. There is a scratch in the varnish at the sharp edge of the front "slash" sound-hole, and a tiny piece of the binding is missing on the rear, at the heel of the neck. Otherwise great! Another sale as no longer play live this has now to go . It's an incredible piece of kit ( listened to Michael manring last album to understand the potential of this unit) . I have used it a bit but kept in excellent condition , only a few tiny marks as you can see from the pictures. I don't have the original box but it will be packed super well . Next week I'm also travelling up north if anyone interested .
