My God, someone just say it! -
I wouldn't add wadding to someone else's design other than to try it out. It's ok to try something and listen for a difference and decide which you prefer if it's easy to return to it's original form, but without a good reason to think it was 'wrong' in the first place I'm not sure I'd expect to get an improvement. I dont think wadding of any sort is going to fix buzzing which is caused by one thing vibrating against another. Something is loose that shouldn't be. The '50mm chunk of ply sounds like a bodge and could be the source of your problem. I'm picturing the PCB as a ruler being twanged against the ply. I'd want the PCB mounted properly, bolted to the plate with insulated stand offs https://uk.farnell.com/c/fasteners-mechanical/fasteners-fixings/spacers-feet/standoffs

Phil It's relatively easy now as I parameterised everything, so it's a case of plugging the right numbers into it and its automatically updated. So if the wall thickness of the pipe goes from 2.5mm to 3mm, I change a singe parameter and thats it. In some respects every print I ever do is bespoke. Printing 5,000 of these on a 3d printer would not be cost effective as you could tool up to do this using better methods. Printing a few dozen identical ones probably would be cost effective as there are no tooling setup costs. Printing individual ones would certainly be cost effective as the design is done and it's just plugging numbers in and then sending them to print. No need to tool up. I wouldn't print all of the port, just the flange as it's cheaper to buy piping. However if you wanted a hex port or an elliptical one or a triangular one, that's very simple to do as the methodology is the same. If you want a one off, let me know. I'll do it for nothing, your speaker shoot out was great and this is one way to pay for that Rob

So, I am a sucker for Oly white Precisions and certainly for ones with dark rosewood necks. Big thanks to @Willfunk at BassBros for sorting me out with this Pro ii. Perfect weight, extremely resonant and has some serious grind!! And as per usual the service was nothing short of exceptional 😊

Agree. Music is an Art. To me everybody playing music is an artist and a musician, as i don't associate "values" or "status" in these words, so not feel it as pretentious. Remains me this question: Are you a player or a musician ? .. Even if playing cover note for note, we all have our own and unique way to play it, and we put our emotion in this playing. It's our artist part. We all are artist. And it's not a pride source for me, more a everyday happiness source.

This came off a 2021 Fender Player Series strat when I used the body and some other parts to build a partscaster of unusual spec so it is no longer needed by me. It's in good condition and before I took it off it played very nicely. Comes with the stock tuners. I'm looking for £250 or near offer including UK postage. Bit cheaper if collected from Northants. Not really looking for trades but a very lightweight strat body might get me interested in a part-x.

That looks like something a lot of home builders would want, probably not something you would want to print in huge numbers though. I've often wondered what it would cost to produce a batch of these to fit drainpipe and soil pipe, the most common material used for making ports. They would certainly tidy up a lot of wonky hole cutting

I saw Florence Black support Tremonti back in Feb/March. Did have tickets for their recent London gig but reading the above about volume fairly glad I didn’t go in the end.

Good question. Music is a technical skill, certainly, but one that is used to create art. I suppose when I'm playing my own compositions then I'm an artist, but perhaps not when playing other people's work. But then again a performance can be art in itself even when the 'script' is written by someone other than the performer. Not sure there's a definitive answer really. -

Hi Beedster I hope you’re well? if it’s still available, I’d like to purchase this neck please. You can keep the machine heads/tuners, I don’t need them, and they will just end up in a gathering dust in a draw somewhere. If you could send me your bank details, I’ll send the cash over promptly. Thanks Scott

I suppose it just comes down to semantics but it is the amount of 'craft' or technical knowledge/training that many 'artists' have to have that got me thinking that it is often more about learning and applying a craft than being artistic. e.g. a Ballerina, no doubt it is a highly skilled thing to do and takes years of technical training, but when it comes down to it - how much is actual artistic expression, and how much is by applying what has been taught and doing as instructed? Me playing a cover version of a song on the Bass? I think that is almost entirely down to having spent the time to learn the craft of playing, I don't think I'm really adding anything particularly artistic. And even when I make up an original bassline - I think I'm just applying knowledge of all the other basslines I've heard and played and applying some music theory and technical playing skill, but art - from the soul communicating my inner emotions?!?...I'm not so sure! It's more 'minor key = sad' 'major key = happy' 'phrygian = exotic'! -

I studied latin for a few years and the 2nd declension, nominative plural does end in I. So Servus (which means slave) becomes Servi But Status is actually a name, so maybe it's different

I don't refer to myself as an artist. P!ss artist, maybe... If other people want to refer to me as an "artist", I won't correct them though
