  2. +1 for Nux 5.8 GHz. Been using them regularly on gigs (100+) for the past couple of years, and have a worked a treat. Previously had the Boss WL-20s which were great sonically, but I was often getting drop-outs with them in the more crowded 2.4 GHz space particularly following a switch by a couple of us in the band to wireless IEMs.
  3. I have the Boss WL-20 and the Nux. I bought the Nux because my wireless router is right next to my practice amp at home, and it interfered with the WL-20. The Nux works fine at home. For gigs, I always use the WL-20 as it’s just so simple and easy to use. I take the Nux as backup, but I’ve never had to use them. Only once has the WL-20 given me a surprise, the guitarist also has the same system, and I forgot to re pair mine before plugging in, and all of a sudden he had bass coming out of his guitar amp! Re paired and all was good. I haven’t done a any scientific testing, but I think battery life is better on the WL-20 than the Nux, but then the Nux can be recharged from the case if needs be. Rob
  4. Thank you, it’s got some little specs of wind blown dust in a couple of places from the clearcoat stage of spraying but it was a balance between trying to remove them without making it worse and you can’t see them unless you look really closely with the bass under your nose and rotating it in the light. They would never be seen when played normally. The cost of trying to set up some sort of an inside spray booth with extraction was just too prohibitive for the odd spray project.
  5. Those are becoming quite rare nowadays unfortunately. Great ergonomics and playability, relatively light. I believe this is late 90’s due to 4 knob config. Truss rod was changed to the conventional 2 way retaining the original fretboard, no headaches or horror stories here.
  6. Yeah I just put it in my name and send payments to the other band members. It also makes it easier doing my tax self assessment as all the band stuff is in one place
  7. By the sounds of it, 'f-ck all' can be defined as 'what goes on in the area where @neepheid lives'.
  8. True american legend. All maple, 1992, 4,8kg. Has a Q filter. Resonates and sustains for days.
  9. I guess it can be called a sadowsky modern clone. Wenge neck, ash body with guilted maple top. Holes of the unknown origin or purpose Full bartolini electronics, if you like their dark vibe this is a great bass. Have too many 5 stringers so something needs to go.
  10. Oh I didn't know that, now is the time to grab one then! Thomann are also knocking these out at £75 (with £10 shipping), not as much of a bargain but they do have the vintage one: https://www.thomann.co.uk/hugheskettner_spirit_of_vintage.htm
  11. I Can't Be Bothered · Miranda Lambert
  12. Older combustion model. Alder body, 3 pcs maple neck, matte finish, emg preamp. Strung in DAEB with dingwall strings. Changed hardware for more fitting black. Great bass for jazz. By jazz i mean metal
  13. For your attention a Music Man Bongo if they wouldnt hire a BMW… 18v preamp, neo pickups. I much prefer this to L-2000 because of the 3 band eq, balance knob and more “polite” palette of tones. Weights around 4 kg.

  14. Altogether Now - The Farm
  15. Now I want a pre with fondant fancy shaped knobs.
  16. The Rand Played On - Back Street Crawler
  17. For your attention a part of the rarewood collection. Cocobolo top, mahogany body. Delano pickups, glockeklang preamp, much more versatile than proprietary Sandberg electronics if you ask me. Seems like the tuners were changed, dont know the story behind. Overall great workhorse bass with great looks.

    East Pre Amps

Happy days. Mr East makes exceedingly fine preamps.
  19. May have something to do with the Hughes & Kettner brand being acquired by Thomann recently. I wonder if they're going to be a Thomann-exclusive brand from now on.
  20. Heel/Heal ~ Idles
  21. Just bumping this to the top
  22. Not my experience at all. My band has 3 hour practice sessions where the NUX system is running continuously for at least 2 and half hours with status lights still on green by the end of the session.
  23. Sole Only - The Police (again)
