  1. Past hour
  2. These have really solid electronics on them, this is a great deal for someone.
  3. Just got back from a gig where I used one of these, great sounding cab.
  4. Hi folks, Just picked up a new (to me) Sterling Stingray with Seymour Duncan pickup and looks to be a retrovibe 77 Preamp fitted. Plugged it in to play there and noticed it seems to pull through some radio type noise. I'm not a technical guy and most things I read online say it's likely needing shielded. Does anybody have much experience with this and does that seem the likely fix for it? I knew this could happen with single coils but didn't think it was much of a thing with humbuckers. Plugging in through a Quad Cortex, tried my ACG and 4 different guitars and all of them are silent so I would rule out the houses electrics. Attached a video to give an idea of what I mean. 5. Phil Jones Bighead Pro HA2 for sale. Bought from new from Bassdirect and had it about a year I think. Looking for £200 £180 £165. I'm based in Cambridge. Here is some detail about the unit plus a photo or two and a link to a Youtube video. Mobile High Performance Multi-Function Headphone Amplifier/Digital Audio Interface The HA-2 is the second model in the Bighead series and is a step up model of the popular HA-1 Bighead with added technology and features. The HA-2 is a high resolution USB audio interface that supports PCM playback with up to 384 KHz sample rate/24 bit resolution. On DSD playback, sample rates of 2.822MHzand 5.644 MHz are supported, making it the ideal choice for musicians and engineers that desire high performance and the purest sound quality. It is a rechargeable lithium ion dynamo that is ideal for use in practice or recording situations. It also functions as a headphone booster amp as well as a preamp to drive powered amplifiers. The HA-2 has both passive and active instrument inputs with a 2 band EQ that is ideal for guitar and bass, yet versatile enough for use with other instruments. It has an internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery that is fed by its USB jack, so any computer or appropriate cell phone charger can charge it in less than 3 hours, but it can play for up to 8 hours. Model: HA-2 Power Output: 300mW/ channel, Headphone Impedance: 16-64 OHMS Frequency Response: 10Hz-40KHz Controls: Master volume, input gain, treble/bass for instrument input signal, headphone jack, line out, AUX input, micro USB for battery charge and digital interface Power: Internal lithium-ion Rechargeable Battery or USB Power Dimension: 3” x 5.9” x 0.9” (WxDxH) Weight: 0.6lbs / 290 g Other: Includes soft bag, stereo signal cable, and micro usb cable

  6. I also leave the line out at about 12 o'clock - whoever is doing the PA will set the levels accordingly. Perhaps the more important setting to you is on the back of the amplifier - the Pre/Post control for the EQ will flavour what you send out to the PA - depends on if you want to send out a flat or eq'd signal.
  7. Black on black looks real good.
  8. Well, I've conducted two full rehearsals now and they're not throwing pencils or worse at me yet... I've decided otherwise sign-up to a full-blown conducting summer school at Swansea University in late July.
  9. When using the DI out on my LM4 can anyone advice me what to do with the 'Line Out' control on the front panel? I've not had this head for long and don't recall previous amps having this control so I don't know how high or low to set it. At last night's gig I left it set at 12 o'clock and there were no complaints...

  12. It seems like the consensus is that these cost a lot of money for what you get. Does anyone own one and want to share their experience?
  13. Stunning bass mate. Good luck with the sale.
  14. Interested in buying one of the above , lots of info on the Yam not too much on the Franconia. Opinion's very welcomed as I've not played either ...similar price. Cheers Ashy
  15. A matching pair of grey bobbin 1978 fender Jazz bass pickups with grounding plates. Originally bought for a project that never got fully finished. The output values are shown in the pictures, any questions please drop me a dm.
  16. New experience for me last night. Depped for a Showaddywaddy tribute act, performing at one of those big retirement complex places. Not quite fully booked but a very decent crowd and we got them on the dance floor. I've always gravitate towards rock/pop/soul/funk so Showaddywaddy was a bit of a tangent. I enjoyed the challenge of learning 34 songs in a couple of weeks and the lads did a good show. Pleased they had a spare Teddy boy frock coat for me to wear so I looked the part 😎. Deceptively difficult, those Showaddywaddy tunes with all the stop-starts, stabs, false endings etc. I used my 2003 Japanese Fender Jazz, markbass LM4 head and energy 2x12 cab. No food or drink provided for the band other than water and coffee 😞
  17. The separation is not brilliant on that one but I will have a look later on and see what I can do.
  18. Hana, I was thinking about the 80's basses you were trying to describe with the P&J configuration & ultra thin necks - was it the Bass Collection Speakeasy? The Bass Centre currently do a new reissue model. They were great basses with a huge 2-band active sound, featherlight weight and that fabulous thin & fast neck. The P&J configuration certainly gives an individual sound - rather like a thicker Jazz Bass with a more 'plinky' top end. It's difficult to describe, but it's a very nice and versatile sound.
  19. Very good condition recently taken in p/x but not displacing my current rig, THE EBS MICROBASS II PREAMP IS THE BASS PLAYERS ‘SWISS ARMY KNIFE’. A DI BOX, TWO-CHANNEL PREAMP, WITH SPEAKER SIMULATION, EFFECTS LOOP, PHONES OUTPUT AND LOADS OF OTHER GREAT FEATURES. THIS IS THE ULTIMATE BASS TOOL. PERIOD! Two Channels and A Useful Loop. The MicroBass II can be used as an active direct box, a one or two channel preamp, instrument switcher or blender. The two channels provide sound shaping from high end solid-state types to distorted timbres, using the awarded tube emulation circuitry found in the EBS range of professional bass heads. An incorporated effects loop gives the user added flexibility for connecting to other effect pedals, or for mixing in an external audio source such as a CD player for rehearsal purposes. Unmatched Flexibility. The balanced output with speaker simulator option provides unmatched flexibility in live and studio situations. Footswitches control mute and channel operation/switching. Other features include headphone output, low battery indicator, link and master outputs, bass, ‘sweepable’ midrange, treble, bright and edge filters, drive and effects mix controls. Price includes 1st class postage in UK
  20. When in stock in UK these are £279, so a huge saving and no waiting !!!! Been using this for 12 months and every sound engineer comments on how good my sound/tone is so "What does it do?" Converts 1/4 inch (balanced or unbalanced) to XLR balanced output. Protects from accidental phantom power damage. Transformer isolation allows for ground lifting to kill hum. 1/4 inch outputs allow connection to powered monitor(s). Passive Summing network for 1/4 inch outs for Amp or FRFR XLR Summing mod available (See other listing!) Acts as a patchbay eliminating the need to repatch the board between rehearsal and stage. Keeps signal level high and tone intact. For DSP Guitar Rigs… If you are using FX DSP simulation/load boxes such as the iK Tonex, Kemper Profiler Player, Line 6 HX Stomp, Walrus ACS1, Line 6 HX Effects and are interfacing them in a live situation, you shouldn’t be using a direct box (for impedance matching) but should be using a “line isolator”. These simulators have outputs on ¼ inch connectors but no way to ground lift in the event of ground loop noise. A line isolator won’t drop your signal level like a direct box will, but will maintain the line level while giving the ability to ground lift and eliminate noise when running your guitar signal to the main PA. In addition, transformer isolation insures that Phantom Power from the console never touches the outputs of your FX pedal. Engineered for Pedalboards The DISO-Plus is a 2-channel line isolator box made to integrate with other guitar pedals. It can deliver pure, clean sounds in the studio and it has also passed the toughest test of touring life as well. The two ¼ inch input, two ¼ inch output and two XLR output jacks are mounted on a powder coated, cast aluminum enclosure. A ground lift switch is mounted between the XLR connectors so that it is out of the way and won’t get bumped accidentally. A stereo/mono switch is located near the ¼ inch outputs and actuates a summing network to allow both 1/4 inch L and R signals to be summed to an amp or full range speaker while keeping the XLR outputs in stereo. This allows you to quickly connect a regular guitar amp or powered speaker for monitoring on stage or checking patches before a gig without disconnecting or re-patching anything from your board. Hand-Built with Top Quality Parts The DISO-Plus is all about giving you a clean, clear signal all of the time. We build them one-at-a-time by hand using genuine Jensen Transformers line transformers, high reliability all-metal connectors from Switchcraft and Neutrik and top-shelf sealed switches from Grayhill. It is backed up with a full 3-year warranty. Will include postage to UK or can be collected near York.
