Owned from new for around 12yrs, I bought this from Thomann and had it set up for Rockabilly. It definitely feels a step up from the entry level basses and I have used it live a lot. Most of its life has been more of feature in my living room though. The last couple of years I have been coming to terms with the fact that I need to sell it. Space is at a premium, it rarely gets used and I am of an age where the EUB seems the easier option. The specs are here Thomann link if anyone is interested. I added a pickup which has been useful - a David Gage Realist. People often call it a copper head. They’re industry standard and normally about £120 used. Mine is included with the bass at no extra cost to you. There is a tatty (by my high standards) gig bag and the strings are currently Gut-A-Like vintage ones Gut A Like strings You’ll see I added a few stickers. These should be fairly easy to remove. I’m happy to do it, or I can leave it. Equally I am happy to add more pictures. It’s currently lent against the wall in my place in Hungerford, where I am Sunday to Thursday evenings. Postage looks too hard to do so it would be a collection. I have gotten it in a Peugeot 107 before - not comfortably, so perhaps don’t bring the family if collecting!

Mismatched outputs for current doubling cables
Stub Mandrel replied to PinkMohawk's topic in Effects
How do these doublers work? If they are just commoned wires whichever output has the highest voltage will be doing nearly all the work. -

Bought new by me , light use, good condition and all working as it should. Supplied in original packaging box. Will come with additional " manual mounting bracket for upshot" so you can fix the AI amp to the speaker - or indeed any other small, suitable amp. Asking less than half of what I paid for speaker and bracket. fretless

To be fair the Ancoats 4-inline headstock would look a lot less of a wonky lump if you just cut the contrasting bit off.

I have a high power solder station with temperature control now, means I can use a 1mm bit or a point and work with smd or tackle larger stuff with ease. But it costs six times as much.

Yup, makes sense. The bass presets in there are brilliant, the only thing that frustrates me is you need to remember where you saved stuff, "U8 Bank 4" makes sense until you power down, but when I power up again the following day, I rarely know what I saved where. I need to write stuff down! Also, it's a little annoying that you can't easily use the compressor and octave together without having to use the Modulation area for the compr, and then you can't use any chorus... I wish they'd have separated out the compressors. Anyway, I'm still very much enjoying mine. I still have my proper pedalboard, but for mucking around, and rehearsal etcs, the ME-90B very much does the job. I was tempted by the GX10, but I get peeved when us bassists are an afterthought. Anyway, I hope you continue to figure it all out.

Reminds me of a Rickenbacker when they aren't doing the cresting wave thing.

Yeah, ‘too much power’ shouldn’t be a problem if the iron is temperature controlled.
-
Nothing wrong with that. Looks like a Warwick without the machine heads being installed on the wonk.

I used to have a Hakko FX-888D and it was a great unit. I can definitely recommend a Hakko if budget allows but beware that there's a lot of fakes around. For the occasional soldering I do now I bought a Yihua 939D station and it's been good. I'd recommend getting something with a decent amount of power - with a hot iron you can work quickly, and I think this gives less time for heat to dissipate into surrounding components.

Hey guys, recently picked up an Anagram, got it on my board, starting wiring it up and realised that I don't have 4 500mA outputs, but instead 2 500mA outputs, and 2 450mA variable voltage outputs. Right now, I've got two current doublers using those outputs, going into a third doubler that joins them together, with the idea being that I'll end up with 1.9A output for the Anagram, which needs 1.7mA at a minimum. Does anyone see any serious issues with this? From what I know of power supplies, this'll probably put a little more wear and tear on one of the outputs, but I'm not too concerned about that. Mostly I just want to make sure I won't torch the Anagram by accident.

It's a lovely little amp but my office is becoming overcrowded so it will go up for sale at some point.

Still got it but I was using it as a manual pedalboard really, if that makes sense?

->Added part-ex for an Arturia Keystep 37<- Up for sale is this beautiful 12 bit sampler from around 1988. It's a Roland S550 with 8 separate outs and a top end GOTEK drive (with LCD screen) ready stocked with most of the available sample libraries and several hundred blank floppies. The sound in the video is the classic 'Air' choir. The library runs the full gamut of Roland's offering plus lots of other stuff including drum machines/ synths. acoustic instruments etc It's very powerful with the multiple outs. Monitor included. It's B/W and is essential for running the S550 to its full extent. It's in great nick and includes the original box and a manual etc It's a fantastic piece of gear and sounds very good indeed, but I need to streamline due to lack of space. Apologies for the rubbish pic of the back, it's a bit close to the wall for a wide shot but it looks nice and clean and, most importantly, all the outputs work! Pick up only nr Tun Wells/Ashford IMG_4455.mov

If I only had one iron, I'd paradoxically choose a smaller one, as you'll cause more grief overheating delicate electronic components than having to spend 30-40 seconds getting a pot case up to temperature. YMMV.
