Can you believe that this is the first Dave Holland tune I have transcribed this year (the last one was published on New Years Eve)? This is the complete Dave Holland part for the tune 'Miles Ahead' from the 1993 Joe Henderson masterpiece, 'So Near, So Far: Musings For Miles'. One of my all-time favourite albums, I have bought it three times (cassette, CD and download). I know every note on this whole album - it's just perfect. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/miles-ahead-joe-henderson/

I use this method for lead vocals and bass all the time to have different processing out front and in IEMs. If you use a digital mixer that allows you to change the input patching, and if you have a spare channel available, you can use two channels for bass - one channel for FOH, one just for your monitoring. In your mixer’s patching section, simply assign both channels to the same input.

The black and white photo was 2011, I think. I hadn't touched a bass in over 15yrs and realised how awful I'd been. So that would have been the first time I played live. The colour photo is from last weekend. I've had a 7yr 'sabbatical' until last year. As my age increases so does the height of my bass. -

There's obviously a 50s rock n roll theme that two of the band are adhering to. I guess, from your charity shop trolley-dash outfit, you didn't get the memo?

First pedalboard and power supply advise

You are right. It has a LPF but doesn’t have a HPF, they put it in the ms-60b which made for bass players. No biggie will and see what happens. I tried the new boss gx-1B in the Roland store in central London. It’s very intuitive to use. They had a mxr phase 90 script modal which was killer. -

I hear you on the SR5 price. Have you ever tried a SBMM Ray35? I recently acquired an early used example and as far as I'm concerned it's a Stingray made in Indonesia and sporting a different headstock logo. I've own EBMM SR5s in the past for reference.

Hello all that are experienced in IEMs Making the move to IEMs I have had some UE 5s made for me , custom moulds. Main bass is a passive Jazz. Sadowsky Pre Amp pedal. EBS amp and cab. If the room is good I tend to get a consistent sound and have used this set up for over 10 years. Main band is mostly IEMs except for me so its time to join in. Its the boomy reflective rooms that are one of the main reasons I'm now going down this route. So far I have found if I roll the passive tone either almost down or off depending on pickup choice the sound in my IEMs is not bad. Very doable. Thing is when I hear live recordings out front and I'm happy with the sound, my passive tone control tends to be well up. The IEMs sound terrible if my passive tone is well up so have I now compromised my happy place sound wise? The monitor gizmo on the tablet lets me eq my own IEM channel and remove the top end but its seems its just not enough roll off Any advice , tips would be greatly appreciated x

2009 SX 70’s Jazz Bass Fretless Project Sale / Exchange
basslondon replied to basslondon's topic in Basses For Sale
I’ve just uploaded additional shots of the fret slots on the neck. As you can see the lower side binding has virtually no interference from the fret removal process. The top side wasn’t quite so lucky …..not totally dreadful by any means but the lower side of the neck is where you would fell any disruption to the surface more so that’s good. Hopefully these additional photos help. -

The things that caught my eye after the ‘tie’, are the leopard print DM’s being worn by the chap on the right (I’m guessing guitarist, drummers are more about practicality when it comes to footwear), I’m liking those.
