Yeah, That Hans Zimmerman Live in Prague video is mind blowing. I loved the bit with Guthrie when HS wanders over him for a solo. In an orchestra with genuinely elite musicians Guthrie then finds another gear and HS is clearly in awe. Amazing stuff.

I know, but you're asking on a forum thread linking an ebay auction that ended in 2019. How are we supposed to know if it's for sale or not?

Perhaps that is why I like the music I like so much. You can view videos of Hawkwind gigs, and they don't play the same song the same two nights running and will sometimes randomly improvise a song (notably Delilah on one recent live album). Seeing Arthur Brown when the guitarist's combo blew a fuse mid-song, and Arthur helped him fix it while the drummer and bass player improvised for three or four minutes. Or any band where you can see the little mistakes and recoveries or the bits where they pull it all together. The best live music is like kintsugi. The flaws are the golden bits that raise it from the ordinary to the exceptional.

Wouldn’t surprise me. I might start a thread and get everyone with a P, MM etc to measure from the nut to the start of the pickup casing. Could be interesting to see the variation.

There's a few Lemmy statues already. There's one in LA and one at the Hellfest site in Clisson, France. There can't be many musicians with multiple statues. I think Freddie Mercury has a few.

These were some of my old Thunderbirds. I still own the Hamer and (to a degree) I wish I'd had been able to hold onto the white one, but hey-ho.

I saw they were looking Lozz. Sounds cool. Sometimes it is nice to go back.

For the record, a guy made a 1600 kilometres round trip to come to my place to buy the 1976 Fender Twin I was selling for peanuts and he barely slept. I offered him tons of coffee and a meal before he drove back and asked him to call me when he was home sound and safe, which he did and told me he was going to a festival a few hours later...

For what is worth I had a Kemper, bought a Helix, then sold the Kemper. The Kemper seemed hyper focused on exactly capturing the sounds of 'proper' rigs and I just wasn't that interested. I just wanted good sounds, didn't really care about how authentic they were. Both units sounded great, so I picked the Helix as the effects and the ui were much better.

Spookily, I went from Edinburgh to Derby and back to buy an Ovation Elite Collector's six-string once upon a decade. If I remember, the shop may have been called Charles Faulds?
