First one I looked at does 😃 https://reverb.com/uk/item/87116534-1964-fender-precision-bass-pre-cbs-vintage-bass-sherwood-green-riggio-w-paperwork-case

Check by yourself, there are plenty examples and I even had great difficulties finding one with four stepped tuners in line.

I'd agree with all the above, except G4M's base offerings. I've had several pupils turn up with them, and the bodies usually weigh so much that they generate their own gravity & I end up spending about half an hour setting them up to make them even half playable. Not recommended.

I noticed that @PaulThePlug ‘s HB50 had a Fender style string tree. Indeed so does the stock picture on Thomann’s website. Mine looks like this.

I run 2 One10's on small gigs with an Aguilar TH500 or AG700, and they sound much better than the One10 in this clip.

Mixed sets? Got any examples?

Well spotted , I’ve been looking and it appears that they stopped using the stepped one in late 65

If you design your own Signature 15 string Bass???
tauzero replied to evrenyilmaz's topic in General Discussion
This is one of those ironing board 15-strings, isn't it, not the next step up from a 12-string (a 5-string with two octave strings per base string). I'd take off the middle string, defret the treble half of the fretboard, and have a seven-string fretted alongside a seven-string fretless (B-F), like a bionic Ashula, then I'd never touch it again. -
I'm sure the android app does too, but that doesn't really help me as I use my PC for learning songs.

The amp I told myself I'd never sell, but my tastes have changed a little and I don't really have the need for this now. It's just a stunningly powerful amp where every note sounds big and authoritative. Includes Gator 3U rack case. Collection only or I can meet if out and about on my way to gigs, depending on your location.

I'm actually listening to the sound out of my 2" PC speakers. To me, plenty of bottom end on both, but the Markbass definitely sounds better and more detailed IMHO.

Well, after some fairly ropey cutting with the scroll saw - thanks again @PaulThePlug for recommending a wide berth, scaring the crap out of myself electrical sanders and finally resorting to a rasp and sandpaper, here’s the first great leap… So, a couple of coats of clear lacquer before bedtime and tomorrow’s the decal 🤘🤞

These were mine (over the years): SB310FL - cylindrical black plastic with a distinctive top, mainly flat but 'chamfered' down on one side. SB320 SB320 SB325 - lousy photo but these were the same knobs as the SB310 (above) SB330 -

Cool for Cats bassline - chorus, phaser or flanger
JJTee replied to JJTee's topic in General Discussion
Thanks all, glad it’s not just me who can’t quite pin it down! Almost sounds like a heavy chorus that’s then gone through a subtle phaser. -

Jazz bass body, Fender Vs Harley Benton Vs Squier
BigRedX replied to NancyJohnson's topic in Bass Guitars
The Squier Jazz Bass I had was definitely thinner than standard, because I had to route an extra millimetre or two out of the control cavity to get a J-Retro Pre-amp to fit. -
The future of amps & cabs - stage props only?
Woodinblack replied to SimonK's topic in Amps and Cabs
I am not sure how it is a compromise? I would think it would give you more control over your sound. Honestly I can hear my low end so much better on IEMs than I ever could live, I am really enjoying it. I can have a mix which is just the things I want to hear without having to compromise on listening to some guitarist flat out - I want to hear me, I want to hear vocals, I want to hear the drums, I can hear the guitars but nowhere near as loud as they are compared to everything else live. I have seen them in a couple of places but in general most don't.
