Fancy building my first pedal, thinking of a 29pedals Euna clone. It’s a very expensive pedal I keep eying up so this would be a cool way to stop me splashing out a load of money while having a fun project to help me avoid getting better at playing. Just wondering where people source components?

Shite, if I'm honest! If I hear of anyone who needs two bass players and some craziness I'll send them in your direction!

Hi we have quite a few US members @jd56hawk @Bluewine @StickyDBRmf spring to mind do you have an equivalent of Open Mic nights? That’s where I found people to play with, and bass players are quite rare so no shortage of people offering collaboration

In other news the new orange amp is very good. Gigging on silent stage with IEM so relying on anagram for a convincing amp tone and this is nailing it, probably my favourite model in here now

I'm in. I've managed to sneak in my IEM upgrade before the starting gun and I don't anticipate anything else other than a couple of professional set-ups that fall within the rules.

I went out in a blaze of glory on 31st December 2025. A 13-note midi pedal board, won on eBay at 4:40pm and a Roland FP-30X piano ordered online at 9:20pm.

Yeah I’m still not sure how I feel about stuff like that. Doesn’t bother me as much for bigger gear manufacturers, certainly not when the gear that’s being modelled is out of production. Even products that are wildly out of the budget for most people to contemplate like the Nobel where it’s unlikely to impact sales. Captures don’t bother me much either, I’ve bought gear based on using captures that otherwise I would’ve been waaaaay less likely to splash out on. Large businesses modelling gear made by smaller boutique builders feels pretty unethical to me.

Hi, I am Bobby. 60yo at this posting. I picked up bass as a hobby about 4 or 5 years ago. And I am loving it. Nothing like the feel and the sound of bass. Played Tuba in band, so when I had to choose guitar or bass, hey. I have never gigged or played with anyone. I need to. I am at that level I can follow a chord progression, know my triads and pentatonic scales, know the fretboard pretty well, have pretty good rhythm. I just need to jam with some folks. I don't have anything expensive, Schecter Silhouette Extreme-4 and an Ibanez SR505E. I use a Fender Rumble 100 to practice. I play most every day. I have a few songs under my fingers for the most part, Don't Stop Believing (why I started playing), Have you ever seen the rain, Burning for you. But I like jamming to backing tracks mostly.

Nut width is 42mm and the profile feels very standard modern precision to me. Skinnier than my other P at 45mm!

I have a strange intonation issue I have not seen before I hope someone can explain to me. I have a Schecter Stiletto Extreme-4 that I love playing. It is the easiest to play bass I have owned. I am very much an amateur. Recently I noticed my intonation was off on the E-string, so I adjusted it using the bridge adjustment so that the open and 12th were both in tune. The problem now is every note from G to D is flat. I don't understand how this can even happen, unless maybe it does this if the neck is bowed backward? To add more strangeness, the A-string is a little like this. D-string is fine and so is the G. Which makes me wonder if there is a twist in the neck. I have not measured anything yet. That is next, maybe just a complete setup is needed? Any ideas? Thanks

Got a late one from my wife yesterday. A pair of Adam DV3 monitors. Been after iloud micro's for ages, but then saw these earlier in the year. Blown away by the sound, and the love lol. -
I failed the 2025 challenge early and bought a lot of lovely guitars, basses and other gear in the last year. In 2026 my aim should be to “right size” my collection and unload anything that I no longer want/need. I managed to sneak in a last purchase at the Gibson Garage yesterday so one of first things I’ll need to list for sale in 2026 will be my amazing sunburst epiphone firebird which will be replaced with an even more amazing “inspired by Gibson custom shop” cherry epiphone firebird when that is delivered next week. Similarly my lake placid blue Squier bass VI will be added to the “to go” list due to the (Also LPB) Fender Vintera version that came about an month ago. I currently have an active basket of pedalboard upgrade stuff on the thomann website, however I will try to resist placing an order. I could probably postpone the pedalboard project for twelve months if I try really hard — maybe I can allow myself to add stuff to the basket without ever actually hitting the “Place Order” button. The biggest risk to make me lose the challenge will probably be if a secondhand boss RT-2 Rotary Speaker Pedal pops up for sale at an attractive price as I’d love to have one of these, but don’t love the £229 price tag.
