  1. Past hour
  2. I've got a couple of basses that I adore but will never get played in anger ever again. I've no idea why I'm still holing onto them, especially considering I've been offered ridiculous money for one of them. Emotional attachment. The Hamer FBIV hasn't been out of its case in a couple of years and even then it was only for a few minutes to fit a new jack plate.
  3. How many sets of strings are in the box and what type are they nickel etc? Thanks
  4. That's a shame, thanks for letting me know.
  5. As new condition. This was for a planned project that never happened. I unpacked it, had a quick trial and then put it back in the box. £70 collected. If you want it posted, cost will be around a fiver.

  6. That's useful thanks, I have some old gigbags and a laptop case that absolutely reek. @Lfalex v1.1 you might want to look at this if you're planning on using the C8 with the built in trolley/wheels in car parks etc:
  7. Just noticed... he seems to have completely missed that the Joyo has a gain knob....
  8. Co-written and first recorded by Etta James. Margie Joseph - I'd Rather Go Blind | Jerry Jemmott
  9. I can do them
  10. I had lessons with Jack Corcoran - he's based near Welshpool I think. He's a youngish music grad specialises in bass, drums, and keys I think. He was involved with Rock School Whitchurch when I lived in the area.
  11. May be a borrowed bass.
  12. Horsebox.
  13. Not many jazz players use an extension - Ron Carter is a rare exception. I've not spent time with one myself, but some players feel they change the pizzicato feel and response on the E string in ways they don't like. They're very widely used by orchestral players where pizzicato is a lower priority, and even required by some orchestras. I'm guessing that pic of McKibbon is some years later than Birth Of The Cool, since he appears to have a pickup wire coming from his bridge too.
  14. Any sound demo?
  15. Maybe you could write down som spec's ?/ I would love this pair, but i'm in the EU. money is a'bit low atm., it's ridiculous this set, still around ?, , have you played Fretless on these Beauties ? Amazing CABS & Colour
  16. I have an AI Doubleshot cab, and can confirm that they're a top quality manufacturer.... who have now sadly gone 😞 Before getting the Doubleshot, I was considering one of these. They don't come up too often, and will surely become more scarce. Ideal tiny cab, which is louder than you'd think. I don't know the seller btw - but have a bump for a great, compact cab.
  17. I am selling a beautiful bass from the Italian Liuteria Claire Basses&Guitars, model Etna 5, with a Black Korina body, flamed maple neck, ebony fingerboard, spalted wood pickguard, PKV Pickups and electronics.

  19. Afternoon all.... I suspect that there is no solution to this particular problem, but putting it out there just in case anyone smarter than me has done the same mod and found a fix Recently fitted a Hipshot Gotoh GB7 de-tuner to my Warwick Streamer; I'm fond of these gizmos as I don't get on with 5 strings but occasionally need to play drop-D tuning. The problem is that due the typical Warwick arrangement of the tuners being raked backwards towards the player, when the lever of the D-tuner is released, it hits the body of the G string tuner before the E string has fully detuned down to D (see 2nd pic). One fix I guess would be to re-align the tuners to the conventional "straight out sideways" position, but I really couldn't do that to a Warwick! The Gotoh GB7 is the correct type (that I assume Warwick copied theirs from), but would a different Hipshot model maybe work? Thanks! Greg
  20. Owned from new for around 12yrs, I bought this from Thomann and had it set up for Rockabilly. It definitely feels a step up from the entry level basses and I have used it live a lot. Most of its life has been more of feature in my living room though. The last couple of years I have been coming to terms with the fact that I need to sell it. Space is at a premium, it rarely gets used and I am of an age where the EUB seems the easier option. The specs are here Thomann link if anyone is interested. I added a pickup which has been useful - a David Gage Realist. People often call it a copper head. They’re industry standard and normally about £120 used. Mine is included with the bass at no extra cost to you. There is a tatty (by my high standards) gig bag and the strings are currently Gut-A-Like vintage ones Gut A Like strings You’ll see I added a few stickers. These should be fairly easy to remove. I’m happy to do it, or I can leave it. Equally I am happy to add more pictures. It’s currently lent against the wall in my place in Hungerford, where I am Sunday to Thursday evenings. Postage looks too hard to do so it would be a collection. I have gotten it in a Peugeot 107 before - not comfortably, so perhaps don’t bring the family if collecting!

  21. Good luck. My experience of seeing someone about technique was they only wanted to teach theory.
  22. How do these doublers work? If they are just commoned wires whichever output has the highest voltage will be doing nearly all the work.
