I had this issue. However, I went with the one that Hipshot said would match, but required a slightly enlarged hole. I made the hole larger by just wrapping sandpaper around a cylindrical object (might have been a small, screwdriver handle) and rotating until the correct size was achieved. It didn’t take much. When I came to move the bass on, I replaced the D Tuner with the original tuner, suitably resized with tape (Hipshot recommend HVAC tape). It all went back together with no fuss. Good work, you won’t regret it. I’ve been using D Tuners for over 20 years, brilliant things. Once they’re set up up, they’re really accurate. That said, don’t be surprised that, after using it on a song, you find that your bass lines on the E string sound off because you’ve forgotten to set it back to standard, but maybe that’s just me .

Toby is an ex-colleague of my Wife and good friend of us both. He's so thrilled to own that keyboard..... and it was lovely to see it brought back to life on Repair Shop! -
I was under the impression that suppliers or manufacturers have a potential obligation for several years, regardless of stated warranty period. In any case I would be looking to return this to Allen and Heath or at least have a phone conversation with them about what to do. This is an expensive item to have develop such a serious fault, and likely requires specialist product knowledge that would make it too time consuming for an independent repairer to trace economically. A&H will have a service manual or similar for in-house engineers.

Barber Linden EQ Pedal. Baxandall style EQ pedal, similar in style to a B15/Fender amp EQ but with some interesting options on the toggle switches. Remarkably similar to the Noble DI in the way that these interact and a lovely parter to the JF Luce DI as I've found out this week. Price includes UK Postage.

This is a special one... Swamp ash body, roasted maple neck and fretboard with black blocks. The full Sandberg masterpiece treatment, including vibration and heat, and some of the best heavy ageing available. I need to properly weigh and photograph this over the next few days, but it's the lightest solidbody bass I have here by quite a margin. UK Shipping absolutley doable, collection welcome. Comes with high quality Sandberg gigbag, and a spare set of pickups (white covers). Any and all questions very welcome! .

An excellent 6/12-stage phaser, being a clone of the revered Moogerfooger 103. I’ve just received a brand new exemplar from Andertons today as a replacement for one I bought a few months ago that had a loose connection. I’m on a drive to raise money due to unemployment so don’t even want to put this on my board. As yet I haven’t even opened it. I’m happy to leave it unopened or to open to test and photograph for the buyer (once payment is received) if desired. Price includes recorded UK postage. Stock photo for illustrative purposes.

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
tauzero replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
Probably going to cut down the amount that I go to the Shirley British Legion open mic night, as the guitarist who plays bass badly is also the one sat at the mixer who can just grab his bass and impose himself on whoever's playing, and I'm finding it a bit stressful (it's OK when somebody other than me who can play bass is playing, it's not so good when you're anticipating 25% of the notes being out of tune, time, or both). Plus we only get two songs apiece so Mrs Zero has even less to do than I have. Still, I did get to play a couple of songs with Annette that I've never played (or, in one case, heard) before, so that was fun. Rather sobering event coming home from it. I leave the M42 at junction 10, and the roundabout was partially closed off by a number of police cars and another couple of vehicles, plus an ambulance. Going past the scene, I caught a glimpse of someone lying on the road with a full-face helmet a metre away from them. No sign of activity around them. It didn't look good. -
Given the nature of the Bird... I'd prefer collection/Delivery but well packaged and very insured postage is possible. This one has been my gateway drug, and before i knew it i've bought myself an old single pickup model. It's in mint condition, and comes with a great padded gigbag. Pretty light at 3.8 kg, and personally I haven't had an issue with neck dive as these sometimes suffer from. These are proper neck-through models like the originals. As always please hit me up with questions/photo requests! .

The Short Scale Bass Appreciation Society!
fretmeister replied to Baloney Balderdash's topic in Bass Guitars
La Bella Super Polished Strings arrived... and the E snapped during installation. Not La Bella's fault as I was trying to fit them on a shortie and their website does warn against winding the speaking part of the string around the post, although this is the first set of flats of any brand that I've had break doing this with large traditional post sizes - even their DTF are fine. The IAH set are fine too for this. I did contact BD to see if I could buy just a replacement E string, but they don't stock individuals and getting one from La Bella would take about 6 - 8 weeks. I've put the old strings back on instead. Just annoyed that I've thrown away £35. Hopefully La Bella will get some shortscale ones made at some point. -

I have a 6 string fretless Dean Edge as my main bass and I must say its fantastic! Its from around 2006-2009 (those years are a little hazy...) The original model was black but I brought it from my friend after he swapped the necks on the two that he had because he thought the pickups would work better thay way round and he wasn't wrong. So mine is red with emg-hz pickups Neck is smooth and flat, very easy to play and sounds great DI, or amplified alone or with effects. For their price now, you can't go wrong!
