  2. Rig of choice for last nights regular Friday/Saturday studio session. It's something budget friendly I put together recently, and so far it's been working really well when I don't need a bigger amp and my Silverstone II. The amp is an Ashdown little giant 350 from 2008. It's very quiet for studio work and the DI is clean and records really well. The cab is a Hartke 210 TP sealed box affair with those aluminium cone drivers. It's super compact and weighs in at 15kg, mainly because the speakers have enormous ceramic magnets and make up two thirds of the cab weight. They sound quite good, and seem to have a sort of naturally bright scooped tone that works well with an active bass. Should be able to do pub gigs with the rig. We shall see.
  3. What an interesting project! Are you chasing stability, weight reduction, tone, or all of the above? Cool Games
  4. Valeton Dapper Bass all in one gig fly rig. Switchable Compressor, auto wah, preamp, octave and chorus with onboard tuner, FX loop, DI. metal case. Some very small marks from live use but well looked after. Should still have the box for it kicking around. £50

  6. Hi everyone. The speaker cone sounds like it has spilt on my TC BG250 112 combo. I'm getting a rasping sound on various EQ settings at low and high volumes. Does this sound like I need a new speaker? Can this be done by a novice DIYer and if so, can anybody recommend a suitable replacement that will fit the existing cab? Cheers.
  7. He had the first Schecter delivered during their US tour last year I think. I’m in Vegas for their show tomorrow so will report back 🤓
  8. Boss DM-2W analog delay pedal in excellent condition with original box - £200 Now £170 plus p&p (collection welcome too). I’d also trade for an Aguilar Tone Hammer V1 pedal plus cash my way. The pedal has been modified by Time Travel Audio. It is a momentary oscillation mod. The new switch is the bypass switch and the original switch momentarily ramps up the feedback. The side mounted knob 'tunes' how much the feedback happens. The link below is a video of what the modification was based on:

  11. I wholeheartedly concur with @Silky999 - this is a spectacular little bass with a rich and full sound - We even tuned the pickup angles between us, so it sounds perfectly even between each string. If I hadn't taken a 5-string Maruszczyk Mr.Tee Shortscale in P/X last week, I'd be having this myself! The engraved 'MGCS Basses' logo on the body is next level cool, too.

  13. Fender Jazz Bass 1965 Original L series Fender Jazz Bass from 1965 with an old nitro refinish. Possibly the original color was olympic white, as I can’t find a trace of another color in the cavities. The bass is all original, apart from the refinish. The decal is original too, though there has been some sanding around it, it seems. Probably to remove the dirt around it. All electronics and hardware function like they should. The neck is straight with a good functioning truss rod. The pickups are the original grey bottoms, which are undated. The pots date to week 12 1965. Overall condition is very good. There are small damages and usermarks around, but nothing shocking. Soundwise it’s one of the (if not the) best jazzes I’ve owned. The sound is warm, deep, clear, punchy… very nice. Thomastik flats are fitted; which are a perfect match. Especially through a nice tube amp; just lush. Playability is great too, a low action is not a problem. The neck has a nice worn in feel too it. Weight is 3,95kg on my kitchen scales. The original case is included, and it’s still sturdy and totally functional, though the toplayer of the logo is missinh. The original chrome pickup covers are included as well. This bass will possibly be withdrawn for sale if my '70 Competition Mustang sells first. Price for straight sale €7.000 Partial trades (lower value basses, guitars) are negotiable though. I'm not after anything specific at the moment.
  14. Does it have to be rack mount? looked at Sushibox effects? something like the underground accelerator is a orange/fender style preamp and can be driven, or he has Ampeg type or fender bossman - all running at proper plate voltages. Or the Two notes revolt https://www.two-notes.com/en/revolt-bass/ or older Le Bass will have tubes and overdrive in (though can't promise how the tube is used in the circuits)

  16. Very quick first impressions after a 10 minute play around are that it might be really good. It’s still not the most attractive pedal but miles better than the bigger one. Patch handling is clearly far superior to the MXR. Better info on the pedal with screen and input level lights. Tracking seems to be at least as good, my gut feeling is better but not had long enough a play to say for sure. Patches are a weak point currently, too many silly ones, not enough (or maybe just too spread out) useable ones for playing actual bass lines. But the 4.5 update could push this miles in front of the MXR I’d say, particularly if the DX7 stuff tracks as well as the current patches.
  17. I picked one of these up once. I actually laughed out loud it was so light. And it seriously delivered.
  18. Not tried it yet lol, I’ll have a play over the weekend 👍🏻
  19. I'm fairly sure the Cembalet is the same type of reeds as my Pianet of the same era. If you have to remove and re-mount one they tend to keep their tuning very well, they're held with a single flat headed machine screw through a hole in the reed, with quite close tolerances. New reeds are tuned by filing either at the free end to reduce the mass and raise the pitch, or across the flex point by the screw end, which reduces the stiffness and lowers the pitch. But the factory tuning is usual good for the life of the instrument. Edit; I hadn't had time to watch through video earlier, they are a bit different than the Pianet reeds, having no hole. Though I presume if they're inserted to the correct depth they should retain the tuning, and it looks like the reed block is closed at the back so they may just butt up to the end before the screws are tightened.
  20. Just played this now whilst chilling on a Friday night and I’m putting this on hold whilst I reconsider my options. Rare monster this and I feel like I’d regret it.
  21. From memory, any Demeter is going to be cleaner than you are looking for.
  22. I have a Fender TBP1 and very nice it is. It gets (for me) a bit hairy around the edges in a good way. Crunchy distortion is not my bag so I have not spent time on that aspect of it. I could, and record some examples if you want.
  23. Yeah cant beat a good faff 😂 thanks pal
  24. How was your gig tonight? Old fart like me with an achy back? Look no further at your remedy above. Get in quick as I'm seriously considering withdrawing and selling something else.
  25. Oh I have a mystery box too. They are very good
  26. I got these in a job lot but I dont play left handed so up for sale One of the tuners has had a replacement chrome wind but works well Price to include postage
