I recently picked up a BBN4. Quite an amazing thing really. Going to use it for some recording on Friday.

Bought a Gary Moore live CD / DVD (yep, another one) from Mick a few days ago. All good and a nice guy...

No probs. Weirdly when i did this, the range between settings sounded very much smaller than playing live. I pretty much have mine set flat the whole time and if I max out any of the EQ knobs it either distorts, or the sound just disappears. Too much of a range unless you have a soundperson adjusting FOH. That's not unique to this bass though, i think pretty much any active bass has that issue. Genuinely though, this thing plays and sounds great. For a brand new sub 1k bass, dont think you can do better.

That’s some way off. I kid you not, it’s taken until now for them to say they should probably spend some money on marketing, seeing what it’s done for MXR. I’ve only been saying it for 6 years. Also, @LukeFRC, if you fancied sketching out a nice graphics idea sometime and putting it their way, they might well pay you to use it.

This is as hard-hitting as Lucinda’s songs, and to be frank it’s a wee bit too honest. But that makes it compelling reading, so if you like her music it’s a solid investment. If you don’t know who she is, consult YouTube immediately… Hardback, very good condition. RRP £20, yours for £13 posted. Now just £11.

Hey bud. It’s doesn’t for me but im sure will Have someone who it does. Really appreciate you sharing this. That slap tone sound led like it could cut through a samurai sword.

+1 - as a graphic designer there's easy wins you could make on small scale products like this - but equally small scale companies tend to (rightly) focus on engineering and not have budget (or know how to value) design. it's all good.

The review says it all: comprehensive, US published and hard to find. Price is UK posted, unread condition. Now £16. Times And Seasons - The Rise and Fall and Rise of the Zombies Robin Platts HoZac Books, $31.99 356 pages Classic British pop, expertly chronicled Few books on the Zombies exist, but theirs is a story worth telling. And it's predictable that, given their Stateside star status, this quintessentially English quintet of She's Not There and Tell He No fame should be chronicled on an American imprint. The band only hung up its touring shoes last year after leader/keyboardist Rod Argent's stroke, but the work he and singer Colin Blunstone created after their reunion in 2001 - the years since 1968 being silent, in a Zombies sense - are also covered in detail by author Platts. The band always had a youthful camaraderie, having come together at high school, and that comes over faithfully in this account of their heyday - plus a long tail that details their subsequent musical careers. While Blunstone went solo and Argent created an eponymous prog band (of God Gave Rock And Roll To You fame), guitarist Paul Atkinson went behind the scenes and signed Abba to CBS - a feather in anyone's cap. Detail is forensic without being stifling. If the layout is a trifle fanzine-y, the integration of illustrative material like press cuttings and photos with the text helps make this an easy read. And the urge to play the music, always the sign of a good book, is irresistible.

Would you agree that it depends on the type of originals band and the location? In my neck of the woods there's practically no originals scene. And what there is would come under the " not being sufficiently entertaining " category. Daryl

By the way, if you contact Panda you can get a free window film for the display. The first units didn’t have one fitted.

He's been a big influence on my playing, I think he may even be the reason I picked up on the sound of double bass as being something I wanted to do some day, back when I was a kid digging out my parents' Pentangle LPs. He had such a big, confident sound, yet always managed to complement whoever he was playing with when guesting. Always remarkably in-tune too, it took me a while to appreciate how much of a magic ingredient that is. And I've never heard anyone with a bad word about him personally, clearly he was doing things right!

He mentioned on Wednesday that the bass was due to be delivered on Thursday but had said he didn't hold out much hope.He also said that he still wanted the bass,so I guess he was offered his money back. The tracking said nothing on Thursday and when I checked today (Friday ) one week after it should have arrived the tfacking had been update showing it delivered!

I have two used Spector USA bass bridges that once belonged to NS2 basses I no longer own, I had taken these off in favour of black hardware. One is the heavy all-brass version, this has faded somewhat on the bass side. I’m not sure if this could be polished up. The other is the lighter, aluminium version, this one in better condition. It is considerably lighter. Note: these will not drop into a Euro bass without some re-routing to enlarge the space slightly. £150 for each bridge or £285 for the pair. Price includes UK shipping.

Here's mine, plonked on the kitchen worktop, and no messing with the phone camera. Plugged in, the numeric display is (usefully) bright - hence it washes out the cameras as seen above. Looking carefully in person, I'd say it's up there with my Cali76 bass comp in terms of finish quality and apparent ruggedness, though obviously it's more 'functional' than 'graphic designer-y'. But on a pedal this complex I don't care, particularly when its from such a small company and getting it re-engineered to match a commissioned visual design brief would make it (much) more expensive.

When I last went to the shop it was 30% off retail price for everything in the store. Was going to put a post here but I was there before closing in the last few days and the deal was only for in person shoppers not online I believe.
