There are now some player produced videos and audio clips of the amp, some really good ones actually. They are on TalkBass (amps & cabs, new boogie release thread, pages 17-19-ish), I can't link them here unfortunately. I would like to hear what you can do here once they start getting into your hands, please post your videos and clips.

I have actually designed some Subway multi-driver cabinets but there wasn't much interest even though a couple of the designs were really quite good (articulate while retaining some flavor). Oh well, the customers drive this ship, not enough customer interest equals "pull the plug". It's unlikely to see the old Boogie badge on the bass cabinets, The Mesa Engineering was selected starting about 25 years ago. We do have some Boogie badges on our factory store website so that you could customize your own cabinets however.

I saw a young guy in St Austell in 2019 - not a local, and he got moved on fairly quickly which was a real shame. He had a bass in conventional position and a guitar on his lap, and he was tapping on the guitar with his right hand and on the bass with his left. I got a few seconds of video of him before he was stopped though.

How was your open mic or jam night last night?
tauzero replied to tauzero's topic in General Discussion
More exciting than most - jam night with the band I've been most recently recruited to as hosts, as one of the guitarists had a hissy fit and quit. Plus my new second-hand GK combo seems to have expired (I think the speaker has fallen apart). But we had fun. -
Well, that was, er, exciting. Jam night with the band I've been most recently recruited to. We've played two jam nights and one rehearsal together. Lineup - guitar/vox, guitar/vox, keyboards/vox, drums, bass (possibly vox). One of the guitarists was perpetually soloing over the top. The other guitarist suggested that he listen to the rest of the band and drop in with us. Perpetual soloist then went on a rant at the other, going on about his ego (rather ironic) and said he was quitting, and packed up his stuff. Then he said "I'm not going, I'm going to stay and enjoy listening to the jam". The keyboard player tried a bit of mediating which didn't bear much fruit, we played a few songs, and then the keyboard player had another attempt at mediation. The two guitarists went into the hallway, with us able to see them through the windows in the doors. After a couple of minutes, perpetual soloist shoved the other guitarist to the floor. Keyboard player and I set off for them but they came back into the room and perpetual soloist grabbed his gear and went, to a certain amount of abuse from the audience. TBH I think it's a relief, I suspect he wouldn't fit in terribly well in any band. The rest of us are continuing. It does mean that one of the two monthly jam nights is now off the calendar, as it was organised by perpetual soloist (we're going to see if we can replace it by another one in the same venue as this one).

super al started following The Basschat Bands thread!

Why have a missed this thread, I love talking about my band 😁 I'm in an original rock band called Felis Leo, we're a bit old skool 70s and 80s influenced with a heavy dose of AC/DC in the DNA. The three original members started the band 40 years ago in school but went their separate ways and came back together in 2017 at the start of their mid life crisis (none of them can afford Porsches so a band is the next best thing). They recorded an album, Life By Misadventure and a 4 track EP, Porn At Work before I joined. I left a function band in the summer of '22 and was asked to join FL around November time. Loved the music but wasn't interested in getting back on the bass horse at that time. The 2nd time they asked was a few months later but this time there was a caveat, they were playing a mutual friend's wedding and they were desperate 😄 When I started rehearsing they had lost their drummer too! This has become a running theme, since I joined there have been 4.5 drummers 😂 (and we used to rehearse near the full size Stonehenge). My first gig was the wedding. Driving away from the gig on a hot August night I stopped as something caught my eye, I wound down the window and watched two UFOs fly silently above me. I followed them for a while on my home and thought "you don't see this in covers bands". We do about half a dozen gigs a year and we've just played our first gig in Southampton. Since I joined I've been allowed to join in with the recording process as the previous bassist didn't 🤷🏻♂️. Since '23 we've only released the Butterflies EP and a Christmas single, Cold Turkey. There's a couple of new tunes that require recording, one of them is about Lydia Shears who was a local witch and great, great, great Auntie to our guitarist Paul. He hasn't inherited any of her shapeshifting qualities. Here's the last EP

Rats. I think it has fallen victim to the dreaded speaker foam brittleness blight. Took it to a jam night tonight and it started getting rattlier and quieter, which is exactly how my previous one went. I shall consult with Fair Deal in the morning.

Decided to put up my awesome (and unfortunately no longer made) Spector LT5 in Violet Fade for sale. This has been my main touring bass for the last two years and has seen some action at Glastonbury, Green Man and many more festivals that I can't even remember! Despite being my main bass I have really looked after the bass and it's in excellent condition. No dings or dents just light surface scratches that every guitar gets from being played! The bass has a 3 piece maple neck with alder body wings and a very nice flamed maple top, which is almost holographic and almost impossible to photo! 😂 The bass has a very nice ebony fingerboard, MOP Spector crown inlays, Gotoh lightweight tuners, brass nut, Dunlop straplocks, Custom wound to Spector spec Bartolini pickups and Darkglass preamp, and thr finish is so good it's ridiculously reflective and shiny.. again making it difficult to take good photos! The bass plays very nicely and sounds phenomenal. The bass is 35" scale and the low B is the best I've experienced on a high end bass. Currently strung with Dunlop Super Bright Steels. Sale includes the Spector gig bag. Looking for £1800 due to excellent condition and I think collection is needed. I have the boxes it came in but I don't feel comfortable shipping it without a hardcase.

For sale is a set of EMG J Jazz Bass pickups for 4 string bass. Comes with the solderless controls and wiring kit. Doesn't include the Jazz control plate sorry, using this just to keep it all together safely for the moment. I think I threw the box away but can package them securely and all instructions are available from the EMG website. Had these in my Jazz Bass for a year and saw very little use as I tend to gig mainly 5 string and precision basses. Decided I wanted to change back to passive pickups, so these are up for sale. Great sounding pickups and completely noiseless!

For sale is my Rockboard Quad 4.1 pedlaboard fitted with the Rockboard Mod 1 patchy bay. Used this as my pedalboard for the last 5 years and it has been great, very light but sturdy and very easy to build a good pedalboard with. It's covered in velcro that can of course be removed. Also included is a Pedaltrain gig bag that came with the Pedaltrain that I recently bought. There is a small hole in the case which I've pictured and doesn't include the shoulder strap but other than that it's never been used. This could probably be stitched or glued back together... not that I'm an arts and crafts expert though! It just happens to fit the rockboard Quad 1 perfectly so thought I would list it as one whole thing.

Clearing out a lot of stuff that is just sitting in boxes under my desk. For sale is my EBS Microbass in Bass preamp and DI. Bought it on here a few years ago and used it for a number of tours for FOH and practice at home until it started to momentarily cut out on channel A intermittently but never for long, but long enough to not want to use it for live. Amazing sounding preamp and speaker sim and incredibly versatile. Probably could be used as a practice solution for somebody or perhaps somebody with tech knowledge or an interest in repairing things could fix it. £75 delivered.
