I have a spare Warwick Gnome I pro V2 ..I got this for home use but have since bought a spark neo ..this has had very little use and never left the house ..I’ll include the speaker lead (which is £35.00 ) ..also the uk power lead which you don’t get in the box for some reason … can post fully insured at cost Spec below The Warwick Gnome i Pro V2 is an ultra-compact bass amplifier with 300 watts of power that easily fits into any Gigbag. The transistor-based preamp of the handy Warwick Gnome i Pro V2 convinces with an extremely clear and crisp sound for almost any music style. In addition to the gain control for adjusting the input sensitivity, a 3-band tone control for precise tuning of the tone and a master volume are available here. The Class D power amplifier with 300 watts of power at 4 ohms also provides powerful bass sounds with volume reserves suitable for stage use. 3. Tobacco Road - the Nashville Teens
  4. It's on the iPlayer
  5. I'd try experimenting with the pre amp and see if you can shape the sound to your liking, before fitting new pickups.
  6. An outboard preamp pedal might work without the effort and expense of modding. I have a Sadowsky SBP-2, which perks up a very ordinary sounding Cort.
  7. Cigarettes and Alcohol - Oasis
  8. The octave on this works really well running into a Mastotron, better than any other I’ve tried.
  9. You might want to consider Dimarzio Relentless pickups...arched tops to better fit the neck radius and adjustable pole pieces. Noiseless and potent even without a preamp.
  10. They've been using the H-expander truss rod since their original Swedish days... http://hagstrom.org.uk/expander_stretcher.htm
  11. Have A Cigar - PF
  12. Just jumped on for a look after seeing your posts on my S-W Bass Bash topic. Top marks!! It's good to see people pushing the design and build envelope using latest technology. I'm speaking as the proud owner of a Vox Starstream btw 🙂
  13. Here's the video I mentioned. It's a very rare case of Ted Woodford throwing in the towel and declaring and instrument to be unsalvageable.
  14. Interesting, the bass just felt wrong to me, it balanced badly, it didn't resonate in the way I'd expect a bass to, it almost felt like it was built of something other than wood, wonder if the neck design/engineering was a factor?
  15. They're no doubt owned by a business who could
  16. Don't worry, it's organised by yer original Rochdale cowboy (mentioning no names) 😉
  17. Welcome from an exiled Aberdonian. And another plus 1 for what Acebassmusic said...
  18. Interesting - I doubt Hagstrom could afford to sue anyone - they seem to sell so very few instruments these days.
  19. Even with my none too special woodworking chops it only took a few hours to design and build one from some offcuts from the scrap pile
  20. Loved his work on miles' tutu and jarre's zoolook. My ownership of a fretless sire with his name on the headstock is purely coincidental though
  21. The Canadian luthier Ted Woodford (him off YouTube) recently did a video on an attempt to rescue one of their new-era guitars. I'll see if I can find it. It's very long and technical though. The gist was that these instruments are all built with an oddly shaped steel extrusion instead of a truss rod. It has these sorts of ribs that extend into the wood of the neck. It's glued into the neck as the laminates are being put together and is completely impossible to remove or service. That on its own wouldn't be a huge problem (it's not like replacing a truss rod is a common maintenance job) but there seemed to be something fishy about it. Ted is very polite (Canadian) and understandably wary about getting sued, so he didn't come out and say anything directly, but I got the distinct impression he believed the design was fundamentally flawed, or just a steel reinforcement bar with an adjuster on the end that didn't really do anything.
  22. I see what you did there...
  23. Today
  24. Oh oh cocked that one up already
  25. Bring passport and keg of cider. I'm coming from the North West though. Not sure how I'll fit in. I'll probably have to get a smock and and practise my drawl 😊
  26. Reminds me of the time I started a new school. Went into the assembly hall and saw a double bass on the empty stage. Just there. On its side. I’m not ashamed to say it was love at first sight and it informed my life for the next sixty years.
  27. A LITTLE?! 😄
