  1. Past hour
  2. I had one of the very first available over here, sold it to a friend who still owns it, something like 20 years later and still running flawlessly, except for the dead battery, of course. I always fancied a red one. If only I was still playing bass or double bass ... GLWYS.
  3. I have a couple of old Wem Westminster amps and love them for bass. I saw Richard Hawley on the Coles Corner tour last night and he was using both a Dominator and an earlier Watkins Westminster (with onboard tremolo) on stage. Sounded great. These amps are very capable and last for ever!
  4. Gregor form BassTheWorld is a big fan!
  5. Lovely! How are you getting on with the early Christmas present from Alan?
  6. “If this was a four string/ how much does it weigh?…” annoying bump.
  7. I should also probably have mentioned that it comes with the GB Shuttle 4-button footswitch. And the soft cover.
  8. Really nice sound that. I have absolutely no use for this...yet I want it anyway. GAS is a fickle mistress...
  9. The whole 'kitchen scales' thing is just so declasse these days, don't you think? Here we have the intersection of luggage scales with a meat-hook ... so much more satisfying. And no, your eyes do not deceive you. The scales register exactly 9.5lbs = pretty much the weight of every decent (single-necked) P-bass in existence.
  10. I should probably have mentioned that it comes with the original Owner's Manual.
  11. Very little used since Covid, time to move it on. Comes with all the little bits of cabling etc. Condition is as near pristine as you're likely to find. Full specs are here: https://philjonesbass.net/cms/product-ha-1/

  12. My eye (yes, I have two. Don't worry...) was caught by the cool looking lever at the top of the bridge - does this amazingly manly bass have a lever that deploys the string mutes? Bet MusicMan wish they'd thought of that before adding those fiddly tiny metal round screws under the bridges of Classic Stingrays. Seriously impressed by the intonation calibration markings on the bridge as well. If Bang & Olufsen made basses, they would make basses like this.
  13. Many thanks to you all for this info....exactly what I was after!! The dust cover is 3" diameter....so can I assume that the coil is also 3"? ....that would make it the 200w variant. The weight of this is around 9.5 LBS, so I'm thinking that the 16.5 LBS shown on the .pdf spec is a packaged shipping weight??
  14. I had a 'double 4'. It sounded great but after about a year something in the pre-amp stage blew. I suppose that can happen with any brand, one bad one in a batch, but it put me off buying a larger PJB amp.
  15. I'm guessing that's an old passive DiMarzio pickup? I haven't played one since the 80's, but I imagine it's close to perfect here.
  16. Bought this 4 months ago from Thomann. Used twice in my studio which is smoke free. This is an incredibly powerful bit of kit. As well as creating amazing sounds, it can also be used as a 2in/2out audio interface. Super versatile, compact, lightweight and sturdy. Comes with original box, power lead and unopened manuals. No marks at all. Absolutely like new. Collection preferred but can meet within a reasonable distance of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. Postage and packing included in price. Thanks in advance. Take care. Cheers ☺️✨
  17. Bought this 11 months ago from Anderton’s. Used 4 times in my studio which is smoke free, and is a wonderfully punchy sounding cabinet. Powerful enough to stand alone, and a perfect addition to create a larger rig. Easy to transport. This is in really great condition. No torn covering, feet and handles all in tact, and all in tip top working order. Collection preferred but can meet within a reasonable distance of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. Cannot post unfortunately, for obvious reasons. Thanks in advance. Take care. Cheers ☺️✨
  18. Bought around 12 mths ago as a B Stock from Guitar Village. The B stock label is due to the paint dent on the arm contour. I have drop filled it slightly with black nail varnish and it has never bothered me but it is there. I upgraded the wiring to a 60’s style loom from Jagged Offset guitars and had a full set up at PSG Guitars in Radcliffe. It has had a bridge cover previously fitted and i do still have the tugbar somewhere. Can provide an old shaped case of needed. Collection would be from Bolton but can discuss meetups and potentially UK postage

  19. Bought this 6 months ago from a bass playing chum of mine. Used 4 times in my studio which is smoke free, and is a wonderful clear sounding cabinet. Powerful enough to stand alone, and a perfect addition to create a larger rig. Easy to transport. Comes in used condition which the previous owner contributed to. No torn covering, feet and handles all in tact, and all in tip top working order. Collection preferred but can meet within a reasonable distance of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. Cannot post unfortunately, for obvious reasons. Thanks in advance. Take care. Cheers ☺️✨
  20. I'll battle through. One bit of news I forgot about - there's a young lad called James Bartholomew who does Tamworth open mics, and played bass for the organisers of the three Tamworth/Shard End/Chelmsley Wood open mics I go to. His band Jayler have just been chosen to support Deep Purple on their upcoming European tour. As I'm now house bassist for those open mics, I'm waiting for the phone call asking me to step in for Roger Glover.

  22. Bought this 11 months ago from Anderton’s. Used 4 times in my studio which is smoke free, and has all the power you will need in such a compact amp. Comes with original box, power lead and unopened manuals. No marks at all. Like new. Collection preferred but can meet within a reasonable distance of Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan. Happy to post and will share P&P costs. Thanks in advance. Take care. Cheers ☺️✨
  23. Cheers! Yeah, if I were still gigging regularly, I'd be clinging on to this amp. But I'll be keeping my Little B*ast*rd 30 for recording - probably my joint favourite with the CTM-100! - so I can't really justify keeping both of them.
  24. Ouch! Hope it heals up soon. Reminds me of when I put a scissor blade right through the fleshy part of my right thumb a week before doing a college musical which included 3 slap songs! Still got the entry wound scar 40 years later.
