  2. Chanan Hanspal’s YouTube channel has some excellent XTC content. Well worth checking out…
  3. Good idea, I want to keeping as low budget as possible too.
  4. I did my repairs in the kitchen at first too! My wife wasn’t so happy with that, so in the end she offered me her workspace! (She moved het stuff to the attic)😀 Now I can leave my stuff which makes working on a guitar much more efficient! Your spray cabinet is a good idea!!
  5. Have a look at the Eich T500, it's essentially the same design as the Tecamp Puma 500 heads, which worked well for double bass.
  6. Thanks, Mokl. I was running two as a vertical stack – best live sound I've ever had!
  7. Haha!, I look forward to the link!! 🤘
  8. Not too far from you, I’m just down the road in the wilds of Rathfriland.
  9. Lovely. Used to own one just like this and highly recommend if yours is as good. GLWTS
  10. Sapphire HD 2600 Pro graphics card. It appears to be a PCI-E fitting, but I don't know how to describe these specifications. VGA and DVI outputs. Free, if you want it.
  11. I’m in Orkney, nearest music shops are Inverness or Aberdeen i.e the locality where the OP is. If I am looking for a bass, I browse BC, the Gallery, Bass Bros or Bass Direct, all of whom deliver here unless I’m ordering something silly like an Ampeg 8x10. Some local folk here have seriously good kit, but it rarely gets sold, though if it does a bargain can be had because folk don’t want to post. We have our own local FB for sales which works okay though selection is limited. It is what it is. Outside of that local group I don’t look at FB marketplace owing to potential scams.
  12. Hello to you. I hope you find plenty here to interest and entertain you on BC.
  13. Hi, I’m downsizing ahead of a house move. This is a lightly used Ashdown Studio 15 in the limited Tweed finish. Great cosmetic & working condition, a very nice size & weight & convenient combo for shifting around (~12kg), I’ve found it perfect for reasonable volume rehearsals & jams (not for silly loud drummers & AC30’s), comes with a “custom” hot covers padded cover. I preferred this over a Barefaced One10 + mini head, it’s so convenient. The metal panels started with a sympathetic/resonant vibration a few months old, Ashdown suggested it’s common & offered to dampen it on a case-by-case basis, rather than the hassle I stuck lots of bitumen sheets in there (black triangles & rectangles) & it’s been solid since. Looking for cash/transfer on collection please, offers & try-before-buy welcome, from Downend Bristol BS16.
  14. Selling a beautiful example of a Lakland Skyline JO4. Lovely sounding and playing bass. Made in Korea. I have too many basses and this one is not getting played so it has to go Includes a Hipshot D-tuner and Lindy Fralin PUs No case included but I have some available if needed. Anyone is welcome to come and try it out! Collection preferred. UK shipping only and not included in the price. Any questions also welcomed.

  15. Manchester - The Beautiful South
  16. That is a great tone, I’m a Duff fan too
  17. I seem to remember a thread by @andytoad about a drunken purchase of a 5 string pink paisley one. How is it Andy?
  18. New, opened but unused Ernie Ball Cobalt Flatwound Short Scale Strings 50 70 90 110 — 2817, Green Silks. No outer packaging, but in mint condition in a clear plastic wallet. £40 inc UK delivery
  19. City Dump — Dyke & The Blazers
  20. that's the video I saw, but on the Jaguar, the mute sit's away from the body. On a bass it's against the body, therefore the hole would be deeper. Last thing I want to do is either drill through or the spring dig a hole and go through.
  21. Today
  22. Yep a deep hole indeed. But that's another good thing you're doing, watching some of your favourite bass players and checking out what they use. I found though, all the bass players I like, I never gelled with the basses they use. They all use Precision and Jazz Basses and my go to and favourite is active Warwick basses. So yeah, definitely try out a few and see what sounds good to your ears and what feels good in your hands! 👍🏽
  23. Lots of mentions of Duff McKagan. He’s the reason I picked up the bass, and this is still my favourite ever pick tone 35+ years later. Fender Jazz Special (the TBX circuit gives a certain emphasis in the upper mids/low highs, that’s not present in my other PJ basses), fresh round wound strings, Dunlop Tortex pic (the yellow 73mm one):
