  2. The great thing about the audio that comes with this book is that it's mixed with all the bass in one channel and everything else in the other. So you can hear the bass line isolated, or just have the backing to play along with. It's worth the price of admission, just hear the likes of Geddy Lee, John Entwistle, Rocco Prestia and Chuck Rainey, playing Jamerson bass lines.
  3. V1 Tyler great for blending in pedals with some lows or blending two pedals together
  4. This box has a set of three Speakon connectors wired in parallel (using pins 1 & 2) so can be used as an extender for speaker cables, or to allow two cabs to be driven from the same amp One connector at one end and two at the other end The box is made from very solid extruded aluminium
  5. For that price you can get a very dependable second hand tuner, much safer!
  6. LA Audio high quality active DI box, very solid construction; comes with an instruction leaflet - which is worth reading since the box is deceptively versatile! This works off an 18v rail so can cope with high or low level signals. Power via phantom from your mixer or 2 x 9v batteries Usefully it has a +20db switch to increase the level of low output devices and with 1M ohm input impedance is compatible with piezo pickups The Input will work with Instrument or Speaker levels ('Pad' switch is for speaker level), isolated XLR output for your mixer and a 'link' output to take the signal on to an amp or cab A separate unbalanced output is available as well as the balanced XLR
  7. Excellent solid and versatile active DI box from Canford Audio, only selling since I have three of these It comes with the instruction leaflet Inputs for Instrument or Amp output. Output jack for Amp input or speaker cab alongside. Balanced XLR output to mixer on the reverse. Instrument input 1.8M ohm impedance - so no loading of amp input or pickups Phantom powered off the mixer XLR or by 9v battery

  8. This is a very tough, but relatively lightweight (7kg) 4U rack case. Very solidly built, with two butterfly catches to hold each end piece in place and moulded, recessed handles There is a shallow version, but this is the deeper one with 46cm between the front and back rack strips (just over 50cm front rack strip to back of case) Overall external size is 55cm wide x 23cm high x 61cm deep Rack screws included Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier 48hr for £13
  9. Anyone need a PA amp? Usual excellent Crown quality, this amp has only had light use and comes in a Chord carry bag. Not sure what the total weight is, but the amp on its own is under 4kg, so very portable XLR inputs, Speakon outputs for most users, plus various other options as per photos As well as standard Stereo, the amp can be configured as follows: Crossover Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on Channel 1 and a HighPass Filter on Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. LowPass Mode (CH1=LPF, CH2=LPF) – this mode enables a LowPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 1 at the frequency chosen. HighPass Mode (CH1=HPF, CH2=HPF) – this mode enables a HighPass Filter on both Channel 1 and Channel 2 at the frequency chosen. You can also put it into 'Bridge' mode for seriously high levels of output (according to the spec 1.5kW into 4ohm) Pickup from Uxbridge area, or I'll courier to you at cost.

  10. I had one of these (and still have the Fiesta Red version). They honestly are awesome quality, and sound & play superbly. The newer Indonesian CV's are great too - but these are even better. There are times I think I should have kept mine.... but I still have too many. A common "problem", I know 😉 I don't know the seller - but I know these basses are superb. GLWTS
  11. It’s not my place to go into details, but a friend of mine had a poor experience with Lenspeed.
  12. Phew, if they were on sale here I would be seriously tempted
  13. Proper Basschat behaviour 👍
  14. Up for sale is this DSM & Humboldt Bass Master, the sequel to the Bass Station. It's got loads of features, which you can read about here: https://www.dsmhumboldt.com/bass-master-1-1. Essentially, it's an all analogue pedal with a preamp, EQ, cab sim and DI. It also has a pre- and post-effect loop, and a parallel channel to blend in your dry signal. This thing is tiny too, only slightly larger than the standard 1590B pedal size. There aren't many demos around, but Bass The World has one on YT, as well as DSM themselves. The price includes postage. If you have any questions, please get in touch.

  21. As a Yorkshireman I'm not allowed into Lancashire without fighter cover so Dunc kindly packed up his Barefaced cab and we couriered it to chez moi. I'm well pleased with the cab and happy to have bought it from this fine gentleman. Thanks , mate.

  23. Check out Lenspeed Logistics. Search BC for various mentions. I used them to ship a jazz bass from an eBay seller who listed it as collection only. I asked them to check out their website and pay specific attention to the insurance amounts that their items are covered by. This was enough to convince them to allow it. There is no need to wrap or box it. It was collected from the seller's flat, went into the van in a Fender gig bag and arrived with me with no issues or damage. I would use them again in a heartbeat. My thinking was that my seller's aversion to shipping was the hassle of wrapping it and the risk of damage. It was very sentimental to them and had been their main gigging bass for a number of years.
  24. So I tried rolling off a little bit of bass and boosting the mids slightly and I think that it worked. I felt like I wasn't being lost behind the kick drum and it gave me a little bit more definition in my bass sound. A work in progress as no venue is the same, but a good start. Thanks for the advice everyone!
  25. Thanks and welcome @Spodokomodoh 🙏
