  2. Just to manage expectations - as I am getting excited about this already - is there any reason why I can't pack my car with cabs and other random bass kit I have collected over the years, and then just comment on the day that I am open to offers should anyone else want to buy any of it from me? Note I am not a business, just someone whose bass collection has got a little bit out of control and this could be a good opportunity to pass some bits of it on to others without faffing with ebay/postage?
  3. Used, in great condition except the zip has a tendency to do what Pedaltrain gigbag zips have a tendency to do. Velcro already on, plus a tiny bit underneath where I had a power isolator. Price is posted to mainland UK. Please forgive the upside down pics 😆

  4. Brice Springsteen for the megafan. Concert tours in Europe since 1981. Signed copy. REP £24.99, yours for £12, posted UK.
  5. Was always fond of the venerable Catch-O-Matic. But I don't believe they're being made any more (unless someone knows differently - if so, post a link!).
  6. I've probably said this before but I'd challenge anyone to listen to Feel It Still on that recording and say you can't do bass properly without backline. You really nailed that tone, and live too.
  7. Intelligent, wide ranging and enjoyable survey of an amazing career. £9 posted UK.
  8. You're right. It was the first of the 2 I tried (using a strap), and something about staring down that sleek neck, those sharp-looking black tuning knobs spread along both sides of the head just made me feel cool yknow :)).
  9. You can get shipping insurance. Parcel2go looks pretty cheap to ship this.
  10. And also make sure it’s good for playing metal… well, someone had to say it …. @lvrossem it’s a running joke around these parts
  11. Protection Racket gig bag now included along with postage costs now included in the price ☺️
  12. Thank you guys. so something like this for the first option above @fretmeister ? https://amzn.eu/d/cYndhXa
  13. Thank you for the clarification, and at 43 to 46 years old, she's still "vintage".
  14. I know, but hear me out. On stage - a Hercules that grabs the neck and won’t fall over. No question. But at home, most stands are a bit ugly aren’t they. I saw this on FB and originally laughed - but then I bought one. I like the Danish design language and I buy most things advertised to me. https://openhagen.com/en-gb/collections/stands/products/nordic-fold-floor-stand it got me thinking about what other ridiculous stands there are out there, and I came across these. What’s that? No money for food this week? Well that’s because I bought a mini leather chair for my bass https://minimstudio.co/shop Does anyone else have some luxury stands to share? Im actually quite impressed with the Openhagen - it’s nicely made and won’t leave impressions on the carpet. It might be allowed to stay in the lounge.
  15. About 15yrs ago i could buy a new Ric in Guitar Guitar for approx £1400. Then they jus seemed to shoot thru the roof with their prices. Dave
  16. Roland VT3 - £120
  17. NI Maschine Mk3 - £300 never used
  18. There's 2 ways. You can either go lightning to a stereo cable into both returns on the Stomp. You'll need to go into the stomp settings and set the FX returns to be a stereo line in. That will make the Stomp do a clean pass through without any FX etc interfering with the backing track signal. Then the stomp main outputs or headphones to whatever you are listening with. The other way is to connect the stomp to the iphone and listen via the phone. This can be very useful if you are using other things in your phone like the camera for videos of what you are doing and that sort of thing. It's USB from the stomp into the phone and then a suitable app. Even something like Amplitube Free will use the Stomp as an interface and let you load up your iTunes library and even slow it down / change pitch etc. I don't think one is better than the other necessarily, just a different approach depending on what you want to do with your combined signal.
  19. Caline Power 5 - £15 / Joyo JP-05 - £30
  20. As others have said, spend some time in a store and find the bass that feels right in your hands and sounds good to your ears. You can really play any bass for most types of music. The most important part is that you get something that feels right for you. And also, if you really want to progress, get a teacher and learn to read sheet music.
  21. Jimmy Haslip was using one of these in Ronnie Scott's last night - best live bass sound I've ever heard.
  22. TC Helicon Voicetone r1 - £80
  23. Two gigs yesterday, a noon hour bluegrass trio gig at a restaurant in North Bay where we have played before and then a set in the evening at a bluegrass festival with the full 5 piece band. Both went well and as a trio we are really getting tight on the vocals with traditional sounding three part harmony on a lot of the songs. Long day but a good one, I left home at 10AM returned at 11PM and drove over 300km. We will be playing two more sets at the festival on the weekend, lots of driving but great fun.😊
  24. EHX Multiplexer - £50 (+box) (incl shipping)
