  2. Anyone have a mid-to-late 1980s Hohner B2A or "The Jack"? I'm trying to figure out what type of output jack they used.

  3. it's a beauty
  4. Lakland and Fender
  5. Hi Andy, Is this still available? Phil
  6. Persona;lly I would go for the Ampeg. Ampeg and bass go together naturally. Fender do not. My Ampeg B15NF is a delight to play through and always makes me smile no matter my mood. I have never got on with Fender bass amps.
  7. Southbound Again - Dire Straits
  8. Looks incredible Brian. Are you operating a bass museum?
  9. Email Andy. He’s a great guy and I bet he has the images. Without them you won’t sell a vintage bass.
  10. Go West - Pet Shop Boys
  11. You certainly get some great gigs, Michael and that J sounds great in the mix to me. If it ain’t broke, don’t shoehorn a P in to fix it. P tones are where I’m at right now and have been for a fair old while. Having dabbled with a Mustang and a P, I’m back using my old custom Maruszczyk Elwood L, favouring the neck up. Feels like playing a comfy, old pair of slippers, whilst giving me the tone I want in spades (the pickups are split coils in J sized enclosures) and the potential for variation if required.
  12. Well then they really shouldn't be offended by my sailor mouth!

  14. Thanks. In other news, I'm currently trying to order some of the electric gubbins I'll need to finish this job, and generally raging at the electronics gods. Why is it that if you need, say, a 500k blend pot and two 500k audio taper pots, every shop will only have one or the other in stock, or they'll have both in stock but with different bushing lengths, or shaft types, or bushing diameters! Then when you finally find a shop that has an acceptably close-enough set of components, they don't have any barrel jacks, or knobs! Every time I place an order for guitar parts I end up having to buy like six small and inexpensive items from three or four different shops, paying as much for shipping as I do for parts. This is despite each shop, in theory, selling everything I need. As it is, I think I'm going to have to get the knobs, strap buttons and one of the two types of pot from Northwest, the output jack, other kind of pot and pickup rings from Armstrong and the fretwire from Tonetech.

  17. I just edited my post. I just didn't realise as a matter of fact... thnx anyway.
  18. They sound like a right bunch of pirates.
  19. Ok, so GAS has got the better of me (again) and I’ve splurged a load of cash on something else, so this is now available for £120 including UK second class delivery.
  20. The 1st gen Shure glx can be found for £200 these days (i got mine for this b.i.n on eBay a couple of years ago) Really can't go wrong with that!
  21. Love everything about it. But with car insurance renewal coming up, it's a bit out of my budget!
  22. Nice, GLWTS!
  23. We used the Pirate studio in Kinning park Glasgow once. When we went in the smell of cannabis was overpowering and we later heard that some folk rent a room for hours, take in dj equipment and get off their heads. Never again!
  24. We used to use Practice Sheffield, until that place closed down due to development. Honestly, my favorite rehearsal space is Playing Aloud in Lincoln. If we rehearse late in the evening on a weekday, we will go there every time. However, for half of us it is a bit of a drive... for our drummer it is perfect, as he lives in Lincoln and can pop in there to meet us immediately after finishing work. It is staffed by some really amazing humans. No AI bs.
