  1. Past hour
  2. I have put these on a 72 & 69 P's, a 79 T Bird and a Gibson Ripper and they feel and sound amazing on each one. Gigged pretty hard on the Gibsons too and they're settling in nicely and sound just as nice as they did when they went on. Off to gig them tonight too in Leicester 👌
  3. Not often you see a Stenback up for sale - wonderful basses and rare as hens teeth! That is a great price too.
  4. Im going to see them in April. What could be better than simple riffs and pointy hats?
  5. In my case, a lack of spare cash. I'd have bought it on sight had I had the funds.
  6. He just turned up on my Instagram feed doing this. Colour me impressed.
  7. Working Class Man - Jimmy Barnes
  8. physical - Olivia Newton John
  9. The only trade I'm after potentially is a small cab 👍
  10. Yes, welcome ET - that's a fantastic looking Precision. I'm looking forward to hearing how it plays/sounds when you get it. The early eighties were an interesting time for offshoot instruments like the Specials and Elites. Fender were forced to introduce preamps and other additions when other makers suddenly burst into the eighties with more 'up-front' powerful basses.

  12. Welcome ET, big fender fanboy here and I can honestly say that I’ve never seen one of those before, I’m following with interest
  13. Today
  14. Thanks for the link Geek99. I just saw a link to one on Reverb that sold for 150 just a few months ago, which seems a good price for something so rare. Could double for playing horseshoes with too.

  16. Hard Work - John Handy
  17. Kahler-made add-on to increase sustain and possibly reduce neck-dive. Never fitted by fender from what I read https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1584071 that’s why you’re not seeing it in marketing from the time. Quite rare apparently
  18. Thanks very much coco! I did a search for that and immediately turned up a chat from talkbass.com. I am reading it now....
  19. No problems, just changing from a pre-amp monitor combo back to a bass combo and wondered if you'd accept that. Wish I had the funds right now as only in Deal and this is a great combo at a fantastic price
  20. been using a Klystron since mid 1998 and 7 or so years back got a CTM-300 which is my favourite amp of all time
  21. there was one here in Chch years back at Mac's Sound Cashel Street
  22. These are colloquially known as "claw" bridges, try using that as a search term. I don't know a great deal about them but from what I understand they're quite rare and sought after. I don't think they were produced for very long.
  23. Never heard of the builder before but I can see me doing some research, that's a great looking bass! Lime green metallic looks a lot better than it sounds. How did you get on with the pickup?
