  1. Past hour
  2. Another supportive post saying you did the right thing. I have tinnitus thanks to a loud guitar, and I'm still angry over it. Shame it took your action to point it out and the BL didn't notice. Ps- was this mid gig?
  3. what strings are currently on it? has the custom nut been made with the tuning/string gauge in mind or was it slotted afterwards. are there any obvious signs of peeling of the vinyl, any visible joins or is it a clean job? I haven't played a 6 string since I owned an Ibanez BTB 406 a long time ago, it was a bit much for my hands. I'm tempted by this (I recently bought a Dingwall D Roc 4 string and love it) but I'd need to check one out to see how I handle the neck.
  4. I've been using a twenty quid, dual, stereo receiver setup (M-Wave WP-12) for a while - which is an alternative I chose to try out rather than the Xvive U4 which a sax player friend has been using and who is happy with mono. Over the past 6 months she's had some interference but started to get intermittent drop outs on stage. One band I play with was open to using IEMs so I built an inexpensive stereo IEM mixer/splitter so we all get stereo IEM feeds for which we've been using stereo wired extensions to our IEMs but some of us want to try wireless.
  5. How do you find the XVive, is it their guitar or U4 IEM system? A sax-player mate of mine is starting to get cut-outs at some gigs and she's going to come round to compare, test and fix/ameliorate our wireless systems. Cheers. I really wanted the MiPro 58RT but (didn't have the money) and prepared to wait if/when I build rack, depending on gig requirements.
  6. That’s exactly the combination that made me leave my band! AC30s are killing machines.
  7. My old rig! It still looks as immaculate as when I had it. I took that on three pro-tours around the UK and it picked up so many compliments from soundmen and other bands. GLWTS.
  8. A good friend of mine is in a rock band, it’s not really my kind of music but it’s good to see him and watch him play as he’s a great bass player, but unfortunately I’ve stopped going because they are so loud it’s uncomfortable
  9. Shure SM58 , has a few dings but fully functional Price to include postage to the UK
  10. Very tidy! Looks really well thought out with really neat cabling. How much would it cost you, ball park, to put that together again? I'm liking the aesthetics. Looks like the kind of board Batman would use if he was a bass player 🦇 Knowing how much time it took to make my first simple board, I'm wondering what kind of time folks have put into (dreaming/thinking/reading reviews/buying) planning, tinkering and (re)assembling their boards. Me it was about 6 hours.
  11. I bought another one recently and it arrived with a weird issue. Max sorted it out straight away, no fuss, just on it and returned it within a couple of days. Fantastic service. The v2 of the MT is designed to velcro to the underside of a pedalboard so it doesn't need its own footprint. It's always on so it's fine under there. I'll be taking mine to the SE and SW Bass Bashes if anyone wants a demo.
  12. Thanks for this. I don’t think I have tried them before so will try and get a quote from them.
  13. If it's not a band where you can have a sensible discussion about things like volume, then it's not a band to be associated with. I was approached to join a band that I'd seen play live a couple of times and politley turned them down because they always played way too loud.
  14. Your ears will thank you! I don't understand why people still think it's clever or impressive to be painfully loud - especially given how easy it is to be loud these days with modern equipment. Unless you're at a Sunn O)))) gig, I don't imagine most audiences enjoy it either.
  15. Good call, far too many guitarists - many with damaged hearing making things worse - are either in search of a Townsend-esque visceral high, or because they don't understand audio/acoustic, ramp up their levels to compensate for poor EQ/positioning. I got in the firing line of an Tele through an AC-30 recently, my ears were ringing for around 4-hours!
  16. Duck Son & Pinker in Bath was my first thought. Lovely shop - I was wasting my mediocre music talent with guitars back then so I never looked too much at the bass selection but they were always very friendly when I stared wide-eyed at guitars and effects when I only had enough money in my pocket for a couple of plectrums. also, Stag Music in Trowbridge. it wasn’t a big shop, dark and dingy. I bought my first ‘proper’ guitar there - a second hand modified Washburn G3V that sits on a wall unplayed for years. Probably the most significant thing that happened there was a visit by Chad Smith of the Chilli Peppers to do a signing. I’ve never seen the place so busy, and stupidly decided not to bother to queue up to meet him.
  17. Sure, no probs.
  18. Reminds of a rehearsal with a band I just joined... I just stopped playing during it and sat on my amp, waiting, until they noticed it. I told them they were way too loud as I couldn't even hear myself and they replied "Hey, it's stoner music!" I simply replied: "Farewell!" and I left. We remained friends, but they all are deaf by now... So good move and decision @police squad !
  19. Thank you! Breaks my heart to sell it, but needs must

  22. Throw me an offer, I'm open - going from what I've seen online the pricing is fair but I could be wrong, I don't see a lot of these online so I'm happy to talk!

  24. Honestly? Absolutely atrocious. Wedding at a prestigious "award winning" venue near Chelmsford. Zone array system that sounded every bit as bad as every other zone array system we've had to use. Client pays £12k to hire venue plus another £2k for a band and then has to put up with appalling sound quality as a result of the venue's in house sound system. No sleep lost on our account. As always we do what we can and point any complaints to the venue and point out where our contract states that we'll try our best but make no promises. We take the money and act professionally. It's not fun but it pays. I totally understand why venues need to control volume levels but im still baffled by how they use such poor sounding systems to achieve it and think it's acceptable.
