  4. Hi Kathryn, aka @Blondy, Welcome to Basschat! This is Nik - we met and chatted when I came to Nick's studio one Sunday afternoon in April.. After meeting you and Ally that day, I ended up buying the Tokai Hardpuncher bass - the one that Nick got back after it was stolen some years ago. You're absolutely right about The Nick Smith Music Foundation, and how proud he would've been of it! He'd have been grinning from ear to ear... 😁 But then again, you, Ally and everyone else involved in setting it up should be proud too - it's an amazing cause that will definitely help lots of young people all across Peterborough to get involved in learning to play instruments and making music. Just to say that it's great to see you on here carrying on the family tradition, as it were... Oh, and your Mustang Bass looks really cool btw! 😎 Cheers Nik
  5. I've had around six USA Fender basses. Sold them all and currently don't have one. To me, they do the same thing as every other bass so it's simply down to playability, weight and if I like the look of it. If you have an effects processor, any bass can pretty much sound like any other bass.
  6. Naa EHX haven't made these for a few years now! Fingers crossed from here.
  7. Yep, the listing included about 8 photos of the owner holding it, none of this ink smudging. Even got a photo of the custom pedalboard attachment underneath so it's definitely this pedal. That second point could very well be true - if so, going ahead and shipping it to a buyer is pretty despicable haha. I'm doubtful of anything happening in transit, the box is in good nick and the protective layers that wrapped the pedal show no ink, no smudges etc. My partner is adamant that it was damaged before shipping.
  8. Ah, assumed it was new, but even so if different to photos just return it 👍
  9. All I Need Is Gruyere That I Breathe - The (farm?) Animals.
  10. Did you have pictures of the actual pedal showing no damage? Might the seller have tried to clean it/remove Velcro with a solvent before sending? Also, if it was something like a solvent spillage in transit, it can evaporate, leaving little trace.
  11. Thank you so much for making some plectrum demos!
  12. I have a ‘72 Jazz I bought in ‘82 but in the intervening years I’ve had to change a few bits that stopped working properly or not at all, so not really 100% original now. But still plays well, and sounds good with a pair of custom shop ‘70’s pickups, but I prefer playing my Stingray.
  13. I know what you mean, I learn better with a teacher for physical things, and I am very conscious of how physical it is as an instrument. I’ll keep looking jonny
  14. No time wasted at all. It's for the parts drawer as these are my favourite bridges.
  15. Yeah I'm speaking to Reverb right now to see what can be done. Just thought I'd share as it's bizarre!!
  16. ... maybe the seller would offer you a partial refund for the damage caused, or send it back as it's clearly received not as described in the listing.
  17. Most of the punters are scared of it 😆
  18. Ampeg SVT 212av cover. It’s in pretty decent shape, obviously gigged and has a few knicks but no massive tears. £30 posted in the U.K. if anyone wants?
  19. I’ve always been one that’s rarely used a stand on the gig , I usually bring a backup bass. So they lean against my amp , or the wall. Every once in a while one takes a tumble. Never gave that any thought when I was using Fenders or Danos , these days I tend to play Gretsches and Gibsons that can snap with a fall. … so I bought a folding stand that holds three instruments. I might be out. I did hold off until one popped up on kijiji for about half the price of a new one. It’s the folding metal tube style with rubber padding. The seller said it never left his house. Looks new. I do think it was long overdue.
  20. It's 'like-new' in the listing photos, this has happened during transit. But the box and whatnot shows no sign of ink. I'm wondering whether it was damaged before postage...
  21. That looks like a bad day on the production line coinciding with a bad day at QC Control 🤔
  22. Some kind of solvent or perfume can erase ink like this.
  23. Just received this in the post (NOT from a Basschat seller).... Any idea what would cause this kind of damage?!? The photos on the listing showed a 'like-new' pedal, and there's no smudging on the packaging at all. Not happy ☹️
  24. This bass is an even greater temptation now. Surely someone will snaffle it this week?
