So I tried the speaker at home, couldn't get it to go wrong. I took it apart, and checked the switch and the socket, they were fine, very solid. I disconnected, tested and reconnected the power terminals, and they are also solid, so I put it all back together. Had a gig on saturday, also open air, but also one we put the whole drum kit through so just in case of issues, I brought my BC speaker and an amp to drive it instead of the bam, in case there is a drop out. And it was rock solid all day, so who knows what that was about, the sound was great.

My ususal playing time is 10-11pm, so I use mutes and plug in to a headphone amp. That doesn't help when I start singing though.

I use a Puma 900 with a Bareface Super Twin or a Schroeder 12PL, I did have some trouble at one point but I think that was down to a bad speakon cable/pub electrics not 100% sure. Love it, super clean and no hope of running out of volume!

It would be a bit impractical to have effects pedals powered by IEC connectors. Wall warts should be reliable as long as they're looked after - wrapping the lead round the plug is a good way to damage the lead.

I'm going to need a slightly bigger room and am going to be building a cabin around it, or possibly a cabin that is it, so I'm selling this once again. If you're podcasting, or doing a Prince and recording masterpieces instrument by instrument, this is a bloody nice unit. Big enough footprint for a Jazz kit, sufficient height for a 3/4 double bass, low-noise fan and lights in the mix also 👍

Thanks, I will try using the Concert amp. I tried using the Studio Amp, which is meant to be based on a Markbass amp, but I find it too harsh and bit cold sounding.

I'm a huge QOTSA fan and never knew Josh was in to bikes. That's another hero point then! I've always wanted a Guzzi as well. Not had one yet but a V100 Mandello could be next. Josh named my youngest daughter, we saw QOTSA in 2011 while my wife was heavily pregnant (we had seats) and the first song they played was Go With The Flow so she's called Flo. The second song was Regular John so we had an option if it had been a boy.
