What's the going rate for Stingrays nowadays?
Misdee replied to Supernaut's topic in General Discussion
Something I have noticed over the years about peizo-equipped EBMM basses is that they usually tend to be pretty heavy. Somehow the peizo gubbins seems to add a bit of weight. Unless it's just a coincidence. - Today

I've got a 44-02 fretless and the truss rod has never been a problem, but the 5 string versions have got graphite reinforcement that the Skyline 4 strings don't. It might be that the extra stiffness from the graphite makes the truss rod seem a bit unresponsive, but it probably just needs leaving a bit longer after adjustment to make it's full effect apparent.

You can adjust the relative volume between active and passive on the Lakland LH3 preamp with an internal trimpot.

Thanks all for your advice, have ordered one this evening.

Except part of that conversation was someone mentioning to them the rules of off marketplace selling, including showing the actual rules, so I think it was clear. -

It's a multitrack recorder, using SD cards as storage. 16 tracks total, can record 8 inputs at once, and supports an unlimited number of virtual tracks / alternative takes (well, limited by the space in the card!). Built-in stereo microphones. Wide range of on-board FX. Power supply included, but it can also run on AA batteries. It can also work as an interface to control a DAW on the computer. https://www.zoom.co.jp/node/68/1000

What's the going rate for Stingrays nowadays?

Whilst I know the original post hinted strongly at valuing an individual bass, my reply (which has disappeared) wasn’t - I commented on the piezo on the bass, showed him the EBMM database entry for it, and guided him to look back through the thread for people’s views on the values of Stingrays - I suggested places he could sell it including here…. -
Having just sold something expensive I've splurged on a used Friedman IR-D and a B stock Ashdown CTM Pre. The latter is returnable, the former should be sellable. I'm a bit skeptical about these little floor units with tubes in but I'll see if it's got any low end and report back.

Eurovidion has bcome a sort of huge celebration of csmp culture. It's not really about music at all. Personally I think the U K should enter Duga Doo as I'm 90% sure it would win. -

Carry Case for Trace Elliot TE1200
Salt on your Bass? replied to Pirellithecat's topic in Amps and Cabs
My trace case is now giving up the ghost 9 months or so on.... Anyone found an optimum solution? I'm about to start looking around. Thanks ✌️ -
I opened mine up and removed the two red LEDs from the board - these are the two clipping diodes that provide the overdrive. Mine’s brilliant now! 😄

Fair enough… maybe a relatively new member not 100% certain on the etiquette of the forum? Why not message and guide them, if you haven’t already? I’m always happy to help via PM if anyone’s not sure on what their bass is worth. just an FYI if anyone’s reading 👍🏼 -

Tonerider Jazz pickups... how good are they really?

Yes I had one of those and the pickups were terrible. Beware that they might be the same size as each other though, which was normal on early Mex but a pain for pup replacements -

So my favourite bass that would never part with is an old 1995 Mex Jazz. I have never altered it because it fits me so well, but am tempted to try different pickups. Would the Tonerider classic Jazz set be seen as an upgrade? -

Hidden the posts that are based on pricing a specific bass, because thats against the rules, as mentioned. If you need help with a specific valuation, please use the wozzit worth forum. -

The "hole" near the attachment arm, isn't a blemish.... it's for adjusting the neck angle. I should have mentioned in my first post, that the necks on these are removable, for packing down smaller for taking on tour / air transport etc. But the beauty of the system is that you can finely adjust the neck angle to set up to your preference, and it's really quick & easy to do.
