This shows where I used the edge of a knife to scrape some of the marks together and make them look a bit more 'natural'. Also you can see the 'checking' which I highlighted by rubbing in oily dirt from my lathe's chip tray... Obviously this is a very much a matter personal taste.

Very true. I've been plotting a new Jazz build with @Silky999 and the parts I want are often prohibitively expensive. Right now I'm looking at combining this build with one of Kiwi's forthcoming graphite necks.

Same with “L@@k” - unbeknownst to some sellers, I’ve actually not bought something I really wanted to buy because they put “L@@k” in their advert. Petty. But it’s seemingly less prevalent these days. So maybe my strategy is working 😆

Yamaha basses. A company that makes speed boat engines, calculators and motorbikes can't make good guitars. Single cut basses where the top bout runs half way up the fretboard. Shudders.
