  8. Just realised I haven't posted this here. My recently acquired SRMS806. Apart from the mildest buckle rash on the rear, there's not a mark on it and according to the seller it was a studio case queen. I was looking for the DTW finish, but this came up at the right price and time, and now I have it in my hands, I've grown to love it, same with the MS. It'll look really good with the GVB36 when it gets here.
  9. That is a very sexy bass. I'd love one of them myself, but until one comes up here really cheap, my blue 5 string Ibby will have to be my 375.
  10. Just WOW.!!! Brians basses are rare in the Europe but an early Chris Benavente made LEJ is really rare.. Suhr.?? 😆
  11. No problem with this; I agree. When I see something 'recommended' by others, I'm sometimes inquisitive enough to have a look, and sometimes I come across some Good Stuff. It still amazes me, however, just how much is Out There that, if one was to put it into a novel or TV story line, would be thought of as too improbable, or too tacky, or just plain ol' nonsense, to be credible. A sign, amongst many, of fast-approaching old age, senility and decrepitude, no doubt; maybe I'm just unlucky in the choices I make when deciding to look at New (to me...) Stuff. No problem, the World spins on. T'is, however, a funny ol' World. Peace.
  12. Diversity is good, it’d be sad if all entertainment was middle of the road enough to appeal to everyone. There’s an insane amount of content and entertainment out there which is immediately accessible thanks to the internet. The overwhelming majority has no interest for me either, if I don’t like stuff I just move on, there’s plenty for everyone.
  13. Number 1 has to be the Sire P10. Next my rather fine orange-coloured pedal board (with matching bag). Number 3, lovely little Joyo 10W bass amp with Bluetooth for playing along to stuff. Honorable mention, the Kay Gremlin I tarted up a bit, well quite a lot of setting up epecially, that's now quite fun to play.
  14. Indeed, and saving up for one of those amazing Trace Elliots
  15. I was rehearsing with it just last Wednesday. Glad to see the nickel is finally starting to cloud over. The pickups are very vintage sounding. If you want the identikit Seymour Duncan ¼-pounder sound, not for you. They are very controllable, easy to set the gain right and get overdrive by digging in. VID-20250727-WA0006.mp4
  16. Noel Gallagher?
  17. That is one of the best 1 second audio signals in my collection now.
  18. Rings a bell. That's about it.
  19. Fairly? <ducks>
  20. I have to be honest and vote 'none', but when I do use them I have: TU3 tuner 'Snow White' auto-wah Spectracomp compressor Joyou XVI (+/- polyphonic octaver) Mojo Mojo overdrive Behringer Brassmaster fuzz/ring modulator Ibanez digital chorus (ancient) Gumpinator (own build 12dB/octave HPF)
  21. I'd kinda assumed Option 1 for EQs and compressors = your clean tone, and often on a preamp? Reverb = other

  23. Hah! You can tick all the options, you're not limited to one!
  24. Magnificent semi acoustic bass which speaks to your fingers. Sounds from upright to a fat and tight bass guitar. The finger or pick position makes all the difference. Or the thumb: this instrument allows for slapping nicely too. Is now strung with Thomastik flats but works well with any string (I also used Elixirs). Very good ergonomics, fast neck, great balance while extremely light. Has the earlier version of the pre amp which is considered provide the best sound. Body Mahohany Fretboard Ipe Frets 21 Scale 35" Radius 12" Width at 12th fret 45mm Weight 3,4kg Tuners: Gotoh Pre amp Rick Turner (1st edition) 1 x volume, 1 x tone Pickup D-Tar Piezo Built in 2002 in USA by the great late Mr. Rick Turner
  25. It's not that I seem to be on a different planet, but rather there seem to be soooooo many planets that I'm not on. As I seem to write more and more : It's a funny ol' world.
  26. Got there after a 90 minute drive. Walked in with bass and speaker stands, and the landlord said "who are you?". "Dirty Roses". "Oh, really sorry, I've double booked you. I'll pay you all the same". So home we all went (not so far for the guitarist and singer, a bit further for the drummer). At least I didn't have to carry all the gear in and out with a gouty foot. But Mrs Zero and Sub Zero had gone out for the evening to celebrate their birthdays (one day apart, 65 and 30 respectively) and I could have joined them, or we could have taken up a panicky last-minute request for a band from a place two miles from my house. Oh well.
