  2. Struggling to sleep and got thinking about how I’ve never seen the basses I’ve sold on here a decade or longer ago for sale again or even a twin. Some of these are what we would term “mass produced” therefore I never thought them as particularly rare but now I’m wondering if they are. The basses in question: A year 2000 Fender AM DLX Jazz Bass 5 in trans red with a maple board An EB MM 2006 3EQ Stingray in trans teal (was more green than blue) with a maple board A Warwick Thumb NT FL 5 - think it was 2000ish Are production numbers actually lower than we (I) think or is it a coincidence the basses all found happy owners. Anyone else experienced this? PS Wish I had pics!
  3. Keeley Bassist - Boxed, Very good condition, velco fitted, no power supply. £120 Ampeg SGT-DI - Hasn't left the house, small mark above the "aux in" but otherwise very good knick. £230. Prices include UK shipping, any questions please ask, cheers!

  5. Here’s my Spector Euro5 CST5 in a beautiful RedBurst . I’ve upgraded the preamp to a LHZ04 preamp with the additional midrange pot for greater tonal control. It also comes with the original Darkglass legacy preamp if you want to go back to the stock preamp . It’s in beautiful condition. Hardly gigged hence the sale . Feel free to message me any questions . I’m located near Cardiff , Wales , UK
  6. Love that colour way…ace.
  7. So many of you will have seen my thread on here entitled, "Do I reeeally need a Precision..?" Well, I ordered this on December 22nd and finally went down to The Bass Gallery in Camden today to get it. Thankfully, with a lot of people still on Christmas holidays, London was relatively quiet and traffic free. I plumped for the new American Professional Classic as it was sonically quite similar to my previous American Professional I, but considerably cheaper than the American Professional II, which doesn't sound anywhere near as good. From the videos I studied, the new Classic with its Pure Vintage series derived 'Coastline' 60s pickups has a very clear upper register and a subtly warm bottom end. I also really like the 'modern C' neck profile. It's very slim [fingers to thumb] for a Precision and the usual modern 9.5" radius/1.625" nut, almost like a '63 neck, minus a little thickness. So after driving all day (went to Bridgewater in Somerset too!), I've only had a little play, and first order of business is always to get those awful stock Fender strings off and put some nice 40-95 Elixirs on instead. Better. After a brief setup, it's a very nice sounding bass. Very easy to play and sounds really nice. Just what I was looking for - a mix of modern and classic. Being as this new series is supposedly the replacement to the long serving American Performer basses (and all the previous incarnations, such as American Special, Highway One, etc), the quality has been upped by a huge amount, bringing these much closer to the Am Pro II. This particular bass is flawless and everything lines up perfectly. The bridge is the same as the ones on the Vintage/Original/Vintage II basses, (which I've never had any issues with on my American Original Jazz in seven years), and the Gotoh Lollipop Tuners and high quality Domed Control Knobs are lovely too. More to come when I give it a good playing tomorrow...
  8. Definitely US. This came from a parts bass made by a Sadowsky employee. No real markings on it to identify as such. The pickups were scrubbed out and headstock left blank for fear of repercussions. I still have the neck - Brazillian rosewood fingerboard, Graphtech nut, Schaller tuners.
  9. Is there a circuit/sound difference between the Nano and the LTD?

  11. I haven't used them, but some of the newer Aquila strings seem to be designed around similar concepts to the Velvets - relatively low tension, synthetic cores, copper windings etc.
  12. Fender Duff Mckagen Signature Jazz Bass Special inc fender gig bag. I have owned this since new (approx 10 years) it’s been gigged a lot but in overall good condition. It has a few small dings & marks which I have photographed. It has a really slim neck, and very low action, and is lovely to play. It has the TBX treble boost circuit. It’s the original signature model, not the newer one, and has since been discontinued. Old GAK demo video is here: The colour has aged into champagne/off white colour. The input jack washer kept working itself loose, so it has been glued, but it can still be undone. I am playing five string basses now, so this isn’t getting any use. Collection from between Dartford/Gravesend. Happy to send over any more pictures/videos if you would like them. I haven’t sold anything on here for a while, but I could prob dig out some old transactions/members for any feedback. Any questions please ask
  13. The weight for this is around 4.1 kg according to my scales.
  14. Basically just don’t put the main footswitch into preset selection mode (long press); just leave it as an engage/bypass switch.

  19. Taken off a project bass. 1/2 inch size version to fit 16mm holes. 4 x Bass side and 1 x treble. £75 collected from Chelmsford or postage at buyers cost/risk.
  20. Just picked up 2 Barefaced One10's. Oh well, there's always 2027!!
  21. Well, this is a way I haven't been insulted in yet.
  22. Ok. I'm in. Stop sniggering at the back! I only failed on two basses, an amp and bucketload of other gear last year.
  23. Hi Phil, I think, about a year or so ago, you commented that the D-A/A-D on cheaper mixers was noticeably inferior to that on dedicated interface units. Where do you feel the Flow 8 sits on that line? I have the option of 'upgrading' to a Flow 8, or connecting my analogue Alto ZMX862 with my Steinberg UR22C interface to achieve the same functionality, so I'd value your (and anyone else's) feedback. David
  24. I’m not sure that six abstained out of about 20000 members really constitutes a statistically significant “not everyone” - have you considered a future in Government?
  25. Generic set of non branded pickups taken out of a project bass. Measure at 7.1k and 7.2k. £20 collected or will post for £5.
