  2. Hello there, Basschatters -- Joel here, on the west coast of New England (Vermont), and truly inspired/amused/warmed/educated/humoured/delighted by what I've found in this community. Probably a bassist because low frequencies carry furthest. I'm a musical omnivore. Have played in cover bands, originalists, theatre pits -- and through it all, for decades, co-composing and recording improvised and faux classical (Euro and Hindustani), blues and jazz, rock and roll -- as one-half of "Orchestra naïF". No regular gigs these days, but haven't ruled 'em out. So long as they'd wind down well before midnight. Meanwhile, I play, and work to unlearn unhelpful habits.
  3. There's such a thing as "low" gain? That term doesn't feature in my vocabulary 🤣
  4. Just seen a band called Parcels do a Tiny Desk and I am a bit obsessed with the harmonies, great piano and really tasty bass playing.
  5. Fabulous amps. I still have mine which sadly hasn’t been used above bedroom levels for 7 years now, yet I’m still tempted to buy another. The only amp you’d ever need to my mind, amazing power with endless tone options. GLWTS
  6. Ok, so ive got back from the pub after a few drinks. Mate wanted to watch it so we put it on. This time, a few more chuckles, especially the guy in the audience shouting out “do stone henge’ during the intro to stone henge 😂
  7. Ha - did that this evening, although better than breaking my whirlwind cables that are getting so expensive you can almost buy a bass for the same price!
  8. Me too. Got a stack of Markbass gear 👌
  9. Selling my Novation AFX Station. Released a few years ago now, the AFX Station is a limited edition Bass Station II with some input from Aphex Twin. Looks great in black and having a lot of the secondary functions printed on the instrument really helps navigating all the additional features. Boxed with everything that came with it new (power supply, USB Cable, paperwork), plus a Decksaver Perspex cover. Collection from Peckham SE15 or can post in UK at buyer’s expense. 13. Hey all, Just sold Dan a board he was after, a no nonsense straight forward deal, prompt replies and paid super quick. Great BCer who I would happily deal with again. Peace.
  14. Agreed. My Fender Performer which I've had since about 1992. None of my Squiers are listed. It's only relable for recent numbers.
  15. You won't get far that way. The Fender database is useless.
  16. Forget to run your strap through your lead and you might die, or suffer an even worse fate.....your bass will cut out mid song! Learned this one myself after treading on my own lead and pulling it out at one too many rehearsals. On stage it could even be a clumsy guitar player!
  17. Sorry for the late reply ! Missed the notification I really love this bass and S martyn makes unbelievable instruments m light order one in the future .I have missed a few they were for sale in the past , one was a 32" but really was looking for a 30" inch..m kept looking long enough that 1 came up for sale so bought it without trying . I'm glad I did

  19. The Ballad of Dorothy Parker??
  20. There are some reputable members of Basschat who regularly do that journey. Maybe title your post appropriately, someone may be helpful for the price of a pint.
  21. There is tons of lens barrellation on the photos. The machine heads don't line up. The two outer ones curve inwards. The inlays probably look odd for the same reason. Just ask for some photos of it not taken with a Nokia 3310.
  22. And the annoying chrome bezel is gone too. I found it's removal made mine far, far more playable. Lovely colour combo with the AG and gold. GLWTS
  23. Great set up. Ran exactly the same rig for a few years pre covid. GLWTS
  24. Okay chums, further price drop: now £60 including p & p in the UK. These are a good set of Fender pickups with some nice midrange poke to them. Grab yourself a bargain! 😜
  25. Unused, as new & surplus to requirements in original packaging. Protective film intact. Price includes UK postage. Collection welcome.
