  1. Past hour
  2. I think it was only about four years ago.
  3. Im in need of a bit more volume. My amp is an Ashdown ABM600 which has a ton of power but my cab is only a 200 watt 2x10 and it just gets a bit swamped in a metal band. We could play quieter but don't really want to. My options are get a second 2x10 or buy a 4x10. Is there any advantage to a 4x10 over two 2x10 cabs?
  4. How old am I that I recall the righteous indignation you posted at the time?
  5. The OP had you using a potentially high output cab that could have been the FOH clarity difference you were missing.
  6. I was in a prog metal band for a relatively short time. We wrote and recorded enough for a 40 minute set and then had a meeting about getting ready for gigs. At this meeting, the front man brought lists for each band member with specific items of kit each of us had to have. This wasn't little things like leads etc, my list included Ampeg SVT Classic with 410 cab, the guitarists list included a HiWatt amp and a load of pedals. After a relatively short argument, we all quit. The front man contacted me again recently claiming he's a bit more chilled out now, I told him to get stuffed.

  8. The new nut keeps the G string on the board and “aligns” better so it feels wider enjoy your new instrument 👍
  9. We normally practice on a Friday after work in our self christened “Bela Lugosi’s Shed”, but due to a child related commitment, pushed back until Saturday. This meant promotion to Nick’s house as the whole family were out. We demoed two tracks for the new album and worked up a song idea of mine. Nice to bust out my big board in what was generally a very productive day.
  10. Will be fixable, the power supplies aren’t super complex
  11. Yes too narrow for me. I CAN play them but my comfort is compromised. So the Marusczcyk I got yesterday from Bass Direct not only sounds like a P (hence the share)with neck pickup soloed AND a Ray (to me at least) with bridge pickup soloed it has 19mm bridge string spacing-in fact a fraction wider as the B to G string measurement is about 78mm. Doesn't your Ray feel the same with the new nut down at the bridge end?
  12. I use my DAW to check and correct the levels of all of my patches so they're all very much equal in terms of output level.
  13. I rarely use the amp these days as we all use iems so, on most occasions, there's no stage monitor sound at all.
  14. Understood, ill try that today and see how it goes. That may be the "fettling" I need.
  15. Nova 4 string clamp. Unused with screws. £30 posted Guyker 5 string clamp £12 posted
  16. Wow. I thought this forum was different than TalkBass, but boy was I wrong.
  17. Cheers - can’t edit the £110 which is a pain. Asking £90.
  18. It's entirely off. Looks to be a rosewood bridge, the top wood of the guitar is mahogany of that helps!

  23. Up, Up, And Away - Rajput and The Sepoy Mutiny
  24. The other thing to do is cut the lows from your stage monitor sound so there is no interference with the PA lows. You could do that by turning well down. Otherwise you need to get fancy with the signal path, or using the main bass amp only as a monitor rather than plugging your bass into it.
