I don’t have any particular issues apart from the humidity/weather changing things. I think with the advice given here I’m getting to grips with it. Thanks everybody.

It might be worth getting the acoustic treatment done before you consider spending serious money on new speakers.

GAS is a a terrible thing. So there I was all content after a really good year, then boom and 'must have ' bass punched a mighty hole in the budget. So, my two latest acquisitions need new homes. They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Here is my surf green SB-2. Without question a bass out on its own, spicy MFD pickups (with their trademark adjustable pole pieces), Twin volume control which on other SB-2s i have found to be really easy to dial in a volume/tone needed. That said the modder in me has purchased the dual concentric knobs ready for a stacked volume tone per pickup (like the early Jazz basses). I can throw those in. This hasnt been gigged (one jam session tho..) so is 10/10 perfect. Vinyl wrapped black plate (easily removed if needed..plain black underneath). I know i'll regret letting this go, they are going to be a cult classic imho. This was bought literally a week before G & L went out of business, so one of the last out the door. Fully set up with EB slinkies set on all fressh and ready to go. I can arrange shipping at buyers expense insured (or uninsured at buyers risk).

They are brand effectively and we all know the G & L story so this is it, want a new one?, you wont find any better. Check out my other listing for my SB-2 or take a look at this... Anywho. 3 TSB Jazz bass, the G & L version, spicier pickups than your average J type bass in this price range. Beautifully finished and in 10/10 condition. Vinyl wrapped plate easily removed . I have been after a nice example of this since seeing Ritchie Kotzens 'riot'. I finally pulled the trigger on this new one in the early summer and very pleased i am too or was until i fell for 'another' way more expensive J beast. As with the SB-2 i'd love to keep it but needs must. I love the bridges on these bad boys. Fully set up with fresh EB slinkies. Can ship at buyer expense, pickup from Rochester or exchange somewhere near to the M25.

Surely it's only a matter of time before Gibson start giving their bass back catalogue the same Custom Shop/Murphy Labs treatment that they seem to be focusing on with their guitar range. Of course if it does happen it won't be cheap.

Done a decent bit of trading with Nik recently. Sold him a cab, bought a bass and head from him a few weeks later. Swapped the head with a different one a couple of weeks after that. We only met once for the first bit of business, and had a great chat at the now infamous Cambridge services. The ‘son in law’ met Nik for the next two transactions (he passes the services) which were both punctually and personably completed. So in short, easy to deal with easy to communicate with. Good fella. I’m sure more gear will find its way either north or south on our newly established trading route!

Sadly it'll never happen again. Josh and the rest of the band don't get on. I was lucky enough to see Kyuss, Kyuss Lives and Vista Chino and all were incredible.

I saw the Eagles in , I think, 2001 at the NIA in Birmingham when presumably they were sober and it was one of the most disapointing/boring big name gigs I've ever bean to. They weren't playing badly by any means, they just gave impression of being bored and just going through the motions. I diid find out later in one of those bbc4 documentaries that some members of the band were barely speaking to each other during that that European tour so possibly that was the problem rather than the sobreity.

I'd be fairly suprised if they didn't do a fretless. Sire seem to do a fretless model of just about everything in their range. For me it's one of the things that sets them apart from other makers of 'copy' basses.

Honest to god, people love to waste £££ on modding. With all due respect to @Stub Mandrel, but what constitutes 'vintage sound'? 60+ years ago, when all this was fields, Fender were producing fairly low quantities of basses and as cited in Tom Wheeler's American Guitars, "quality control was out the window", pickup windings were erratic, there was little consistency in manufacturing and Fender was known to use whatever was on hand. Christ, they were putting Stratocaster pickups in some bass models, then wax potting the covers to hide what was in there. 60 years on and we're all sitting here rubbing our collective chibs, going, 'Mmm, 60s Vintage pickups, gimme some of that, I need more ponk in my tone.'

I set the vol of the TV to 0, 3, 6, 9, 12... why on earth I decided to study acoustics? -
I saw the Eagles on their ‘Hotel California’ tour in 1977 at Stafford Bingley Hall. I’m not sure who was more out of it, most of the band or the audience. The smell of dope was prominent all night. Didn’t stop it from being an amazing gig though ( and that’s from someone who was not partaking due to being the nominated driver).
