  2. Not exactly top shelf, but I've got one of these things and I'm impressed: M-VAVE Tank-B It's got a rechargeable battery, USB-C connection. It has a power switch. It has an XLR out, as well as a 6.35mm TS socket and headphones output. Basically it's a small FX unit, with a number of cab and amplifier emulations, basic modulation effects, compressor and noise gate, and you can store and recall presets. The tuner is not the most user friendly or accurate, but it's certainly sufficient for home use. It can also act as a sound card to record even on a mobile phone. You can play along to music via bluetooth, too... and it's tiny. Prices vary, they tend to be around £60-70, but you can find them on AliExpress for around £50, frequently. I'm not recommending it because it's cheap, but because I like how it sounds and everything it can do. https://www.scribd.com/document/711832600/M-Vave-Tank-B-Manual https://www.cuvave.com/productinfo/1106118.html
  3. How do we feel about me approaching someone I know to do a talk on pickups? He is very very good with an audience and does it for a living. I reckon if we got the numbers up to 40+ I could convince him. It's just a matter of whether we're actually interested. If we videoed it, and put it on The YouTube, as Uncle Bryn calls it, it could be worth while for him.
  4. Hello all Cleaning out the parts cupboard. I somehow have accumulated 3 sets of these Hipshot Licensed Ultralite 1/2” Clover tuners in chrome. All in great condition/fully working as you would expect. I love these tuners - great value. I’m going to suggest £70 shipped in the UK for each set. First come, first served! Pete
  5. Best Jazz necks I've played - and that's a lot. Wonderful basses, I just wish the body curves/contours were a little more dramatic and organic. I really like the colour and MHS on this - really quite rare
  6. It is mainly wired IEM systems. Te Behringer ones are OK, but some are not. TRS to XLR should be OK.
  7. I bought the CQ20 for the extra (XLR) inputs and the built-in power supply.
  8. Did not know that. If I went TRS>XLR lead?
  9. Be aware that some IEM systems only have stereo on the XLR part of the combi input. It is not available on TRS.
  10. Morning all Up for sale is a set of Squier '77 VMJ pickups. Working perfectly and sound great; I used the bass I got them in for a different build project, so no longer need these. They even come with spring loaded foam, a nice touch. Easy to use for a bitsa build. I'm selling for £27 plus postage. Pete
  11. I meant to say. Here’s what these Turner pickups sound like with an ACG EQ01 preamp - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=bDxJtT8a3cc And here’s what they sound like with the Lusithand Double NFP (the Mark 1 version, not the Mark 2). - https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=gAMnqz6Uoic They sound great with the preamp in this body - the Double NFP mark 2.
  12. Saw the Doobie Brothers last Thursday in Birmingham... and on Saturday at the London O2 Arena. Simply fantastic.... consummate singers, musicians and performers.... and still putting most other acts to shame. Wonderful!🎶👍😎
  13. Purchased at the end of March this year, in mint condition, used a few times but just not for me. Comes complete with genuine Boss soft carry case and Boss power adapter. Will also chuck in the USB cable which you can use to connect to a PC. £200 plus postage from the I.O.W

  14. Hey all Bought by accident - meant to get steels, not nickels. Ah well. My loss is someone else’s gain. £30 posted in the UK seems a reasonable discount. Pete
  15. This is the same pedal as the now famous Taylor Shift but with a different visual design. It includes a low pass filter which sounds great and the octave circuit is one of the best OC-2 clones out there. Can ship at buyer's expense or meet anywhere in London. Thanks for looking!
  16. That's works with me, I'll send you a PM with the details.
  17. I’d always assumed Barry Adamson played FL on some of Magazine’s late 70’s/early 80’s but the same is true. As ever, it’s less what you play, and more how you play it 👍
  18. Hey all Bought for a bass that I sold, so never used these. DR Pure Blues 45-130. &nbsp £35 shipped in the UK. Pete
  19. Tab, Bah humbug.
  20. Well Hello MaryLou, Goodbye Heart, hours of time, money, the tendons in my hands .. Following with great interest.
  21. When I did my 51 slab Jazz Bass I had Martin Harmer (Charm Pickups) knock me up the pickups. Needed a wider pole spacing at the bridge and wound RWRP for hum-cancelling when using both single coils. Martin cuts his own flatwork so he'd have no problem doing a bridge position 4 pole jazz single. I was £120 for the pair so he's not too expensive. Will PM you his details if you want 👍
  22. Great example of a great bass. I haven't owned a P bass since my first Hondo II P copy so bought this a year or so ago second hand to scratch that itch. Had it set up by a local luthier who changed the nut to a bone one and strung it with a set of light gauge Thomastik Infeld Strings I bought from one of the members here. I'm more of an active bass man and do have a lovely Jazz when I want to go old school, Also there's a new 4 string incoming so this is better off with someone who will use it. The price includes the flats, but happy to negotiate if someone wants the original rounds back on. Everything is working, it's nice and light and in very good condition. There are a couple of tiny marks on the back of the body and one on the front just above the top of the scratch plate. Prefer collection but happy to travel within an hour for a meetup - Essex, Suffolk, London, Herts etc. Would reluctantly post at your expense and insurance.
