  1. Past hour
  2. And in answer to my own question, have managed to get some decently usable pitch shift patches on my GX10 ( and making me ponder whether to hold onto my dedicated Boss pitch shift pedals - OC5, XS-1 and XS-100?)
  3. I was tempted to get an Elf to use as a spare amp assuming from memory they sound similar to each other ? I wish I hadn’t sold mine and although I don’t need 1200w what I do need is the remarkable sound they make. The extra watts are a bonus really
  4. I've taken the liberty of widening this thread to GX10 users given the similarity of the patches and Boss editing software.
  5. Our carol gig last Friday - this is our biggest of the year, with maybe 120-130 people. That's me in the top hat. Sorry, I'm not playing bass, but that was covered admirably my friend and former bass teacher. It went very well, everyone is keen to have us back next year which may be tricky, but not impossible!
  6. I will ask Greg Barcus about the fretboard dot markers to double check how he did them.
  7. Cool little phaser pedal from the JHS budget line, was on my board for the last 8 months or so but I just prefer the more simple Phase 90 for my use, the less knobs the less chance of me fiddling during gigs! It can pull off the Phase 90 vibe and also do much more extreme sounds with the feedback knob switched on. Pretty much as new except having Velcro on the bottom, with the original box and bits and pieces. Price includes UK postage, will knock £5 off for local collection
  8. Blodwyn Jig The Mongos Get Willie Supercrass
  9. Please could someone explain this from the Overlord website about the Fujin bass? Japanese wind god, a terrifying magical demon who carries a large bag of winds on his shoulders. Often pictured alongside Raijin, and like him, our second headless bass model features a classic double-cut design. What's the double-cut design got to do with Raijin? I've lost the plot.
  10. Actually was a local ska band touring these parts (the US).
  11. Yeah I did. Tried every conceivable configuration!
  12. Yes. It all worked fine as soon as I tried it at home after the gig. I just want to have a fail safe - I can take the laptop it's fine, but I wanted to see if the tablet could be connected. Purely for convenience.
  13. Still love mine though don’t have enough big gigs to really let it loose. There is a part of me that thinks either that or my Handbox WB100 should go to a new home because I really don’t need both, and an Elf. Then I slap myself round the face and pull myself together .🤣
  14. I’ve looked at all of my gear to see if there’s anything I can sell to get to £1700. alas. No.
  15. On selling tickets, seems I missed out on a banger of a gig by my brother's covers band & support on Friday. 110 capacity, the sold 100 tickets at £8 in advance and kept back 10 for the night. They worried about struggling to sell them.
  16. This is all fascinating.
  17. @dmccombe7 Your Xmas gigs sound ace. I've never manged to get those sort of festive gigs in my bands, lots of other great ones for sure, but you can't beat a great party gig this time of year.
  18. Does anyone have experience with Toltec pickups? Managed to snag a set of Vintage Reds but very difficult to find info or soundclips on the web. Cheers.
  19. Our male singer couldn’t make the gig on Friday so Laurie our other vocalist sang like a bird for 90 minutes straight. Wish I could do that! cbf49fb4-bd9f-4bfb-be3e-57ae883ac503.mov

  21. If we're being pedantic is a hollow monocoque strictly speaking neck-through? 🤔
  22. Bargain!
  23. Last gig before Xmas for BLOCKBUSTARZ Glam covers band at The Dreadnought in Bathgate was another great night of party fun. 110 advanced ticket sales at £10 a pop and quite a few walk-ins took it up to approx 120. 80/20 split to us on ticket sales so a good nights work if you would even call it that. Its just great fun doing Xmas gigs. Great feedback from the audience at the end as always in this venue. Its our singers home town and her local at weekends when not gigging. Fun stories of the night :- #1. Our singer was in loo at start of the evening and a guy asked if he had seen the band before. He replied yes and that he'd seen them at every gig in this venue. The guy was none the wiser that he was talking to the singer. Wigs, make-up and outfits tends to throw them off the scent a bit. #2. My wife and singer wife were sitting at a table with very few seats remaining when 2 guys asked if they could take the 2 spare stools at the table and they both said yes and they then asked if it would be ok for them to sit at same table as it was quite busy. While sitting there they then asked if the 2 women had seen the band before and just like the previous funny story they both said yes but elaborated that one was singers wife and the other the bass players wife. We are already booked in for next year the Sat before Xmas plus a summer gig too. Fingers a bit tender from Fri nights gig but managed ok without any issues. Tiredness was creeping in during 2nd set but managed to enjoy it all right to the end. 45min drive home and home for 1:15am, coffee and biccy then bed cause i was quite knackered TBH. Next gig for us is Hogmanay which should be another busy one and then on 3rd Jan up to Dundee for what should be another great one. Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas guys. Until next year all the best. Dave 🎅
