  2. ...on a guitar sometimes a silken threat was enough to get that sitarish effect, but no use on bass what are these chinese basses?
  3. Yep and it works well as long as you set-up everything VERY correct. the magic of the diPiazza bridge is an piece of hard wood brought just that close to the string that it buzzes the Neuser idea appears more 'solid' set-up wise, if you can shift in/out lije shown in the video, but diPiazza works!
  4. So far no one has mentioned those chinese basses with two necks on different sides of one body, like brand Busuyi: "8-string bass, 5 string fretless."
  5. Thank you Bernmiester. Good to know.
  6. QSC CP12 Active PA Speaker 1000 Watts One of two - priced individually or for a small discount if sold as a pair. This speaker is as new and has not been used since purchase. It comes with additional QSC waterproof cover for outdoor use. Very powerful speakers however I’m downsizing and selling my larger portable PA gear. Street price is £579 cheapest I can find so this is a good saving. The covers cost an extra £67. The user manual is included. I have two of these for sale. I can knock off £40 if you buy the pair. Pickup definitely preferred but talk to me if this is impossible. UK only. Postage would be at buyer’s cost and I’d need to source packaging as the boxes have been recycled. These speakers get glowing reviews in Sound on Sound magazine - https://www.soundonsound.com/reviews/qsc-cp-series I own a pair of QSC CP8s which are perfectly fine for keyboard monitoring and rehearsal PA so these aren’t needed now for personal use. Specifications from QSC below - Features Class-D amplifier with 1000W peak power output Selectable contours (presets) for quick setup Advanced DSP with Intrinsic Correction™ Superior sound quality and speaker protection Directivity Matched Transition™ (DMT) ensures uniform coverage across the entire sound field Suitable for use as a main PA, stage monitor or instrument amplifier 35mm pole mount socket Lightweight and incredibly portable Specifications Configuration: Two-Way Active Low Frequency Driver: 12'' Cone Woofer High Frequency Driver: 1.4'' Compression Frequency Response: 49Hz - 20kHz, -6dB 47Hz - 20kHz, -10dB Sound Pressure Level: 126dB (Maximum) Nominal Coverage: 75° Axisymetric Amplifier Type: Class-D Amplifier Power: 1000W (Peak) Input Connectors: 2 x XLR/TRS Combo (Line and Mic/Line) 1 x 3.5mm TRS Stereo Output Connector: 1 x XLR (Mix) Controls: Power 2 x Gain Mic Boost Push Switch 6-Way Contour Selection Switch Indicators: Power LED 2 x Input Signal LEDs Input B MIC Selected LED Limiter Active LED Power Supply: 100V - 240V, 50Hz/60Hz Enclosure Material: Polypropylene Grille: 18 Gauge Powder Coated Steel Dimensions: 516mm x 350mm x 323mm / 20.3'' x 13.8'' x 12.7'' (H x W x D) Weight: 13.7kg / 30.3lbs

  7. Greatest speaker to improve any TC Electronic with 8 inches speakers. GLWYS.
  8. Not quite but it does make some weird, wonderful and musical noises!
  9. Using the weigh myself, then with guitar I made it 6.6kg or 14 1/2 lbs (ish)
  10. I didn’t know that. You learn something new everyday. 👍
  11. Clutch Too Much - AC/DC
  12. Evening all, by some quirk of fait I ended up too busy at work to find time to ring a local Herbert with an O level in electronics and an 18 watt soldering iron! As is always the sensible option I’ll heed all of your advice and do a bit of research (seems every body advertising in the Yellow Pages is an expert in amp repairs!) Deffo worth a chat with music locker before I do anything. Thanks again. Ta
  13. The Am Original series basses are definitely marmite - Personally, I’m firmly in the fan club. The neck profile/radius in particular (and the clay dots) sold it for me. I have a 60s P and J from the Am Original series now and they’ll be the last ones out of the door. Got both for less than £1300 each second hand too, so not as steep as the AVRI. People who are considering buying should definitely try them out though. I have a 2003 AVRI Precision and it’s a wildly different feel to the Am Original!
  14. @andyhaines, there's an Eich T-300 in the classified at £460...
  15. This is exactly the principle of a sitar saddle just as I mentioned it in my post above. 😉
  16. I decided after many years of playing to treat myself to a Whirlwind lead. Plugged in, played, didn’t make 2 minutes, it’s going back, sapped loads of top and bottom from the sound. Gonna stick with my fairly cheap Fender Professional leads, which sound the same as my BOSS WL20L wireless kit.
  17. Shut up and drive - Rihanna
  18. Welcome to the Machine. Aphex Twin... Nice, and love the T Bird.
  19. £50 price reduction Trades - X Touch Universal. Try me with anything, I can only say no 😁 Great bass in good condition, comes with hard case. Short scale. Not a heavy bass. Plays well. Not really any damage to speak of. There’s a little bit at the top of the headstock (photographed) but looks much worse than it actually is. I’ve removed the strap lock pins and replaced them with the originals that were odd when I got it. The case is old but fully function and all the clasps work. Can post at buyers expense or can be collected from BB22SH Any questions please ask.

  20. My guess would be as he slid the bridge pieces back a flat plate came into contact (or very, very close contact) with the string to emulate the mwah produced by a true fretless string vibrating on the fretboard. Instead of the mwah being produced just in front of the finger itself is produced just in front of the saddle. It sounds surprisingly effective. Slides obviously won't work but no intonation issues as with actual fretless.
  21. I had the stereo and sold it. Regretted it and bought the mono. It really is the Swiss Army knife of amp world. I’ve got a Markbass Evo 1 to try out at the moment which basically, has the Multiamp amps and effects but has two independent channels, which is exactly what I need. I think it’s what I’ve been looking for, for a long time 😁
  22. Not had a single reply in 6 months. Both from on here and the website 😔
