  2. Price dropped to £270! Comes with a solid hard case too.
  3. Up for sale is my 2021 G&L Tribute JB Jazz Bass in the always stunning Lake Placid Blue. Try as I might (and believe me I have tried quite a few times over the years) to love Jazz basses, I think I need to come to terms that I'm a P bass guy. Hence this is up on the chopping block. It's in great condition, with only one small blemish to the finish that I can see (it is pictured) and to the binding (also pictured). Please excuse some of the picture colour disparity - taken in a room with relatively yellow lighting, and auto colour balance can only be so magical! Feels good to play, currently set up with minimal neck relief and about a 1.75mm action across the board. I think a light touch player could go a little lower, but it's in that good honky Jazz territory at present. Recently strung with a fresh set of Rotosounds 45-105. Truss rod has room and responds well to adjustment. All electronics are working as expected. Some surprisingly nice bit of birdseyeing in the maple neck, which I certainly didn't expect to see from a more affordable bass. If I had to be a bugbear, I'd argue the binding across the neck is pretty bang average. Other than that I think it's a really solid bass for the money, I just need a bit more wood on my necks 😂 Prefer collection from near Nottingham, though I travel a good amount and am happy to meet within reasonable distances. Cheers!
  4. Bristol is the same, too. (Pirate started here and the head office is literally 100m from me right now). The business model is to keep costs as low as possible and it seems this involves cutting corners. I once did a practice there and one of the guys was locked in a room with the lights and all power cut off. Thankfully we got him out in the end! In my experience, it’s worth spending a few more quid for somewhere decent.
  5. Vol, 3 Way Pup Select, Jack...
  6. Just to add to the colour complexity, my Fender Japan Tomomi jazz is trans fiesta red. I love the colour! As Wavemaker explained above, trying to accurately capture this colour is almost impossible.
  7. I can only speak for the ones in London and they work out to be a lot cheaper than other options and their booking system is really easy.
  8. You might also like B-15NC if you came across one (well, it'd be rather B-15 Heritage, but still). With a 60'ish P-bass it sounds delicious. P.S.: sorry for off-topic. My vote would obviously be for the Ampeg. I only tried an RB-110, so no experience with a way more powerful RB-210, but it sounded amazing. That thump as if there was a compressor for the low frequencies.
  9. Looking for a Jad freer capo preamp pedal! Thankyou
  10. It was brilliant. Played the Swan in Stourport on severn. A local gig with the best energy and crowd.
  11. Down The Dustpipe - Quo
  12. You would think that Lawrie, think I got carried away when I got my pension lump sum LOL
  13. Anyone have a mid-to-late 1980s Hohner B2A or "The Jack"? I'm trying to figure out what type of output jack they used.

Interesting, thanks. It looks more like this type than a standard barrel jack. Is there any sort of nut on the inside, or does it just screw into the wood?

  14. it's a beauty
  15. Lakland and Fender
  16. Hi Andy, Is this still available? Phil
  17. Persona;lly I would go for the Ampeg. Ampeg and bass go together naturally. Fender do not. My Ampeg B15NF is a delight to play through and always makes me smile no matter my mood. I have never got on with Fender bass amps.
  18. Southbound Again - Dire Straits
  19. Looks incredible Brian. Are you operating a bass museum?
  20. Email Andy. He’s a great guy and I bet he has the images. Without them you won’t sell a vintage bass.
  21. Go West - Pet Shop Boys
  22. You certainly get some great gigs, Michael and that J sounds great in the mix to me. If it ain’t broke, don’t shoehorn a P in to fix it. P tones are where I’m at right now and have been for a fair old while. Having dabbled with a Mustang and a P, I’m back using my old custom Maruszczyk Elwood L, favouring the neck up. Feels like playing a comfy, old pair of slippers, whilst giving me the tone I want in spades (the pickups are split coils in J sized enclosures) and the potential for variation if required.
  23. Well then they really shouldn't be offended by my sailor mouth!
