    Doom demos

Slowly working our way through our songs recording our first batch of demos. Qattara Depression Bandcamp All recorded in Logic, drums are Roland V drums running through Superior Drummer 3, guitars and bass DI through Neural Amp Modeller. There are a couple of mic'd up guitars here and there. Hope you enjoy, any and all feedback welcomed
  3. The Chase Is Better Than The Catch - Motorhead
  4. Price dropped to £160
  5. Looking at installing a pair of Widdershins Ziggurat pickups in my Dunable, they can be coil split. Control layout at the moment is Vol/Vol/Tone. I'd like to be able to split each pickup individually. Can I run push/pull pots on both volume controls to be able to split pickups one at a time? If so do I just wire the volumes together 'normally' from the lugs (output from pots like attached diagram)? Thanks!
  6. Schools Out - Alice Cooper
  7. So from that… finally got a spare evening and did the first stage of rebuilding … yes the octabass will fit in that gap, no it’s not going on as the hx stomp model is pretty good… so it’s empty. We all know nature, and this thread, abhors a vacuum…
  8. Meta Guitars' Pragma Bass - lovely build materials and no doubt excellent quality, but a €5000 starting price and is anyone else reminded of a contemporary executioner's Axe..? It's lightweight too, at 6.6lbs.
  9. Too Many Fish In The Sea - Marvelettes
  10. Today
  11. It is still available, had some good interest, but no firm offers yet.
  12. Should be able to offer courier delivery once I source packaging materials
  13. In addition, try moving around before turning up, room acoustics may be playing tricks om you.
  14. Glad you had a good experience there. BassBros have been around a few years now and quite well known within the bass community
  15. A lightweight (4.3kg) 1973 Jazz Bass in Olympic White, which is presumed to be a refinish but hard to tell due to the expert quality. I haven't been able confirm this and neither were the previous owners, with the neck joint showing no prior finish. It's simply presumed a refinish due to the stunning white which shows very little sign of yellowing, though it's entirely possible it was kept preserved for many years as its early history is unknown... Other than the finish, the pickups are Fender Custom Shop & the neck volume pot has been replaced. It is otherwise original with all original hardware. As you would expect from a '73 Jazz it sounds amazing with a great growl and feels extremely smooth to play. The only reason for advertising is that I'm looking for an equal Precision to replace it with, as I already own another Jazz with more personal attachment. The neck is in perfect condition and one of the nicest I've felt, it still has a ton of life in the frets and the trussrod has room both directions so it can be setup to whatever your preference. Currently setup with 45-105 rounds and a very low action. Rather than selling I am mainly looking for a similar age Precision to trade with. I'd be happy with any year up to 77 at the latest, however specifically looking for sunburst/rosewood, and with a bit of a preference for the older C-style logo... Similar to this Jazz I'm open to those that may have some electronics or hardware changes given that they fit the original style. If you think you have something that fits this criteria then please get in touch! I'd be happy to drive anywhere within a few hour travel time of Northants should it be preferred, and will include the non-original hardcase that it's currently stored in, many thanks. 16. Hey mate , I’m stuck in Lisboa for work right now, but if the initial deal falls through, I'm absolutely keen once I'm back in Belfast! Happy to sort out the postage fee too, no bother. That's a stunning piece, would love to add it to the collection!
  17. It's a little surreal for me as well. Can't believe things have come together like this but I'm thrilled to be making it happen.
  18. Bill Fitzmaurice subs are very light, but they chew up pack space. They all make gobs of 60hz for your low B. Nothing makes 30hz in useful amounts.
  19. Wow this bass is stunning. It looks perfect and at that price it really seems like a brilliant deal. The sunburst finish, slim fast neck and active electronics make it sound like a joy to play. Really nice that the sale is going to charity as well.
  20. The "top-of-the-shelf" stuff such as pre-CBS Fenders, certain Ricks, '60s ThunderBirds, Wal, Alembic is likely to stay on the expensive side. Other gear will eventually drop in price, since less people seem to have disposable funds for vintage stuff, and those who do want the pieces that I was referring to above. That's a very pretty instrument you have, but an EB-2 is not an easy bass to sell. Never was. It's not even a matter of price in most cases, you just have to bump into someone looking for that unique appeal that these instruments have. I was lucky to find a buyer for my '68 two years ago. Good luck.
  21. i don't really understand the question?
  22. I own seven right now. That's about half of what the count was two years ago. What I'd *really* like is to get down to three, but I don't see it happening since it's tough to sell anything bass-related in my neck of the woods these days. As for everyone else...you know your limits...I guess...
  23. I still have a few valve amps keeping me company... 1) A 1964 Hagstrom Bass 210, 10W (1xECC83 + 1xECLL800) 2) 1968 Gibson Thor, 50W (2x6EU7 + 2xEL34) 3) Circa 1971 Carlsbro CS100TC, 100W (3xECC83 + 4xEL34). I own two of these, this is the better-looking one. Each of them sports a unique character and is well-loved by silly old me. In all fairness, I do own a couple of SS amps and a hybrid one as well, so I can't say I'm an "all valve kind of guy"...

  25. I'm sure it sounds great...however... DIY stuff has never been my cup of tea, since I'm a clumsy ox. Secondly, at the prices that used L2/L4 heads show up in this neck of the woods it wouldn't necessarily be a cheaper solution...since I'd have to get someone else to make it for me. I'll eventually find space for one...somehow. Soon enough.
  26. It does, but that is no different from an ABY pedal or just connecting the direct of one effect to another, its the same signal. You can put a different effects on different parts of the same signal, but ultimately it will still sound like one bass with different processing on it.
