  1. Past hour
  2. Can do, it depends on the amps but most people are sensible. ( it's not a guitar show) At the last Midlands Bash we had a "No amps during lunch or the talks" rule which worked really well. A few folks brought headphone amps, so they got shared around a bit.
  3. Say you were washing your hair and it couldn't have been you at the gig. Maybe you have a doppelganger. Alternatively, talk to the singer and ask if you could still be friends if you were critical of the band. What you do then depends on the answer.
  4. Neepheid my friend, I think you're suffering from a bout of what's known in medical circles as 'bass-bash angst'. Luckily this condition only flares up once a year and there's a simple cure: apple crumble administered by mouth.
  5. Something simple today (I have been working on a track that was taking forever and wasn't really worth it so I abandoned it). This is the tune 'Don't Forget (Nostalgia' from the 1980 Jon Anderson album, 'Song Of Seven' and features the wonderful John Giblin. I always thought Anderson WAS Yes and that, without him, it was only ever OK. I think his solo albums prove that. The part is simple and an easy read so a bit of light relief after a heavy weekend. https://bilbosbassbites.co.uk/dont-forget-nostalgia-jon-anderson/
  6. Calling @benh, @Silky999, @Jabba_the_gut in the U.K. or others like @Andyjr1515, if he accepts it. Or @RonC and @Basvarken in The Netherlands.
  7. Darkglass B7K Ultra (V1). Used but fair condition. Velcro on base. Price includes UK postage.
  8. I guess you're talking about the tilting of the neck, which is impossible to correct on a set neck without ungluing it, correcting the tilting and then gluing it back, so a lot of work. And with a neck through it is close to a nightmare... The only thing you can do is lower the saddles or recess the bridge for lower action.
  9. Thank you!
  10. Things get loud? 🤷‍♂️
  11. T-Rex Fuel Tank Classic power supply. The dimensions of the FuelTank are: L:15,8 cm H:3,8 cm W:7,6 cm. 10 outputs. Used but fair condition. Price includes UK postage.
  12. The bit that intrigues me is your comment that your friend is a good singer. It sounds that he is demotivated and may be asking for your opinion to confirm his own. Have you asked him what he thinks? It's difficult. If someone asks your opinion, it's disrespectful to be dishonest. That doesn't mean you have to be unpleasant about it, but criticism (in its literal sense) is always helpful. That is equally true when it's not entirely positive.
  13. Great bridge at a great price, adjustable string spacing and extra shim to go underneath main bridge if extra height is required 👍🏼 GLWTS 😉
  14. Sadowsky JJ Noise Cancelling 5 string pickups. Used but cared for. Screws included. Price includes UK postage.
  15. Depending on final pricing, it'd be interesting to see if HB can convince people to spend more on their brand. The most expensive 4 string currently comes in at £421 and regular MVs are £240ish. They do look cool though
  16. Gorgeous bass, and that looks even better in the flesh. GLWTS.
  17. Today
  18. I appreciate the concern, but I'm OK if some get passed over. I'd much rather that than have someone come up to me and go "hey, you've got X bass, don't you?" and I'm "ahh yeah, sorry, I left it at home - maybe next year, if I still own it by then!" I've already decided to rein things in slightly - I'm not going to take the extra 1x12 cab. Going to take the Markbass combo and the TC Electronic BH250 head as a headphones only amp - which might be handy if things get loud in the room anyway.
  19. Anyone know where I can get one built? Ideally superlight ie Paulownia or similar. I have the USA MM pickup and original electronics good to go, Allbridge lightweight MM bridge and a graphite neck hopefully in the next month or so from the wonderful Kiwi’s enterprises. Looking to get it all as light as possible, if anyone wants to take a project on 😉
  20. I really hope I can make it. It sounds like it’s going to be so much fun!
  21. About to move house so decided to start a clear-out.. and came across this I'd forgotten I had. Obviously, not needed so time to go to a new home possibly. Only used briefly a while back and had the velcro fitted to the front, a little on the underside too where I used to fit the PSU along with a couple of cable-tie fittings I used for the power leads (see pics). Case might be a smidge dusty. Tracked 48 postage included.
  22. Just worried that you might be worrying about how to transport hem all, only to feel a little deflated if only a handful get all the attention. There's plenty of space, although you may need to squeeze up to create space for a latecomer.
  23. Nope should I be able to attend I will be delighted to meet my Scottish brother from another mother, magic decal or no (i Mean “nay”)
  24. Newbie? Repeat after me “is it any good for metal? 🤷” youre supposed to be asking a question, not have fictional actors making statements get with the program …🧐
  25. Sadowsky UV70 5 string. 2010 build. Natural Ash body. Satin maple neck. Sadowsky single coil JJ pickups. Sadowsky 2 band active preamp with Vintage Tone Control (VTC). White blocks and binding. Hipshot Ultralight tuners. Approx 4kg. Sadowsky lightweight case. Extra pickguard (brown tortoiseshell). UK delivery costs will be minimal.

  26. The trouble I have with this very sensible statement is that all my basses are different from the usual. I don't own a single Fender product right now. I can think of at least five off the top of my head that people have expressed an interest in seeing. I joke about being mad (the whole journey is mad anyway) but I'm not trying to take over the whole show, or use number of basses as some sort of weird flex (which would be pointless as I know there are plenty of people out there with more than me). If I'm overstepping, or anyone feels like I'm impinging upon their available space and/or enjoyment of the event please tell me so and I'll rein it in, I can handle a home truth if it is required.
  27. If the neck is set with a positive pitch at the neck joint, can the glued set necks be shimmed or adjusted to lower the action, or is the owner left with having to deal with the ole idea of using a positive pitched neck to reduce fretbuzz? I know you could do it with a bolt-on, but how they intended for folks to adjust a set neck is puzzling me?
