  1. Past hour
  2. People shouting, rolling their eyes, making big eyes, fast edits, waving their arms, faux indignation etc on YT. The joy is that there is much better content on there so no one has to watch shouty people.
  3. Tuner (in bypass mode), Preamp and compressor always on (NB mute and a HPF on the preamp). Extra EQ pedal for fretless to give a mid boost if needed (but not always). Fuzz one out of every ten songs again if needed (not always). Chorus/Envelope Filter/Octave pedals go on my board every now and again but then come off after a few months of never getting used (this cycle has been going on for a few years as I keep aspiring to use them, but never do!). They sound great on their own but I don't think add anything in a band situation.
  4. Worth remembering that there's another side to Hofner's business making classical stringed instruments that I imagine most of us here know very little about. Who knows which part or parts ofthe business are actually failing?
  5. Mona Lisa - Nat King Cole
  6. And actually, the Fifteen actually tames octaver and filter a fair bit due to the low end roll-off.
  7. Late to this party but, the two halves imply book-matching almost perfect mirroring of the figuring/grain on both halves. You would not have accepting it if you went to a shop.
  8. I had the Subway D800 for a few months. I already had a Bugera Veyron 1001M and an Ashdown Retroglide, but was curious about the Mesa. I loved it at home, the Voicing control was great, and the Deep switch was warm without being boomy. First time on stage, I had to turn both off as they did not suit me on stage. I was effectively running flat, something I could do with both my other amps. Of course, as our US friends would say, Your Mileage May Vary. The Ashdown (uses the same ICEPower module as the Mesa, although the MESA will drive 2 ohms) and the Veyron both meet my needs and although the build quality of the Mesa was great, it cost twice what the other two amps did so it was sold.
  9. Well have you left your reviews on trustpilot and /or the other sites mentioned?? If not , why not ? Do not bother with them on the phone ! Get a full refund ! With that attitude guitar guitar may be gone gone ,and then obliviously wonder why .
  10. Don’t Hofner still make high quality hand built acoustic instruments? Strongly suspect that their financial situation is more to do with a sluggish economy and high energy costs. I doubt Macca can help, unless he can broker a peace agreement with Russia.
  11. Thanks to a fellow Basschatter I will be rejoining the Ashdown clan with a nice RM800 EVO III amp Decided this will be my main gigging amp
  12. I can call out lots of 'name bands', but they are names to me and the style music I listen to. All the Hofner bands are styles I do not listen to. This is perfectly normal for people to have different experiences.
  13. There is a nice Ashdown RM500 EVO III that would make a great gigging amp and plenty of power One for sale on here ( not me )
  14. Ah ! I hadn’t thought about that. I have Synthetic “gut” strings on my bass( I took those from my other bass, when installed the “ Krivo “ on it.) It might be counter productive, financially to have to also purchase a set of “steels “ Sorry and thanks for responding so quickly 🙏🏽👍🏽
  15. Want a new DI, so this one has to go on the chopping block. We all know it, it's great!
  16. @Raslee @BlueMoon @Jo.gwillim @thevintagebassist @Manfred741 Frets were installed this week. They're nearly ready...
  17. After several years of trial and error, this year I have managed to come up with a fairly consistent line up of pedals that are giving me what I consider my core of my sound. Add-ons take care of specific effects for specific songs. The signal chain is MS60B (which provides a noisegate and tuner functions, as well as any one-off effects - it's currently providing a synth bass patch for one song) > NUX Sculpture compressor > NUX Voodoo Vibe > Ampeg SCRDI. If the signal is going to my amp and speakers, it passes through a Sine HPF set to just over 40hz (and I'll adjust it as necessary on the night). If I'm going straight into the desk, I let the sound engineer handle the HPF duties.
  18. As above. ^ This is exactly how I treat the Bassrig 15, as an always on replacement for a stage amplifier. I always Di and use iem as my backline / monitor system.
  19. All this talk about Danny Sapko. Perhaps we need to rename this forum to BESHCHAT.
  20. Really impressed with scan.co.uk as they send you a video of your bass being set up before dispatch. That's a first!!
  21. All in one type of pedal, super easy to control with your phone and the big single knob.
  22. NI Maschine Mk3 - £300 never used
