  1. Past hour
  2. Just weighed it with my luggage scales, looks about 3.8 kg.
  3. I'm looking for a Cab cover for a Markbass MB58R 102 but the Markbass and Roqsolid ones cost nearly £100 which seems a bit steep to me being about 20% of the price of the new cab for something that is only really thick enough to stop cosmetic scrapes and keep the rain off when going from car to gig (they don't seem to offer much real protection to things like being bashed or dropped). Anyone aware of cheaper options (like a big padalboard bag or storage bag), or success with a DIY option?
  4. Analog cab simulation, very tweakable, includes adjustable HPF, EQ, it works as a headphone amp, and with TS and balanced XLR outputs. Great condition, just a bit dusty...
  5. My go-to is the Softube Bass Amp Room suite. It is limited to an SVT clone, a retro solid state thing (which isn't great) and some kind of overdrive amp (which again isn't great). Only the SVT is actually useable but it is seriously good because it is easy to use and understand. The downside is that there is no dedicated bass amp overdrive which I think would be solved with a plugin version of the Agro pedal which I owned for about a decade. I tried some Brainworx/Plugin Alliance, Bias FX and Amplitube sims but never really go on with them. I like the idea of the Helix but I think it would just present me with too many options. I really like Aguilar kit, so this is tempting.
  6. Hi Mike payment made Phil
  7. One of the best tracking octavers I've tried. Usual OCT1/OCT2 plus blend. Great condition.
  8. eBay made a big thing about making listings free, so they got rid of fees on transactions and then added a manditory buyer protection fee, that the seller pays, that was higher than the fees in the first place. Means all the prices look stupid and it is not clear that when you make an offer to someone for say £100, it comes through to the seller as 'they made an offer of £87.32'
  9. Independently footswitchable clean boost + VLE (low pass filter) and VPF (a bit like a 'contour' control, scooping mids while boosting low/highs). Standard TS output plus balanced DI output (XLR). Original MarkBass power supply included (but it works fine on standard 9V supplies - I used it for years with a T-Rex Junior supply, you just get a bit more headroom if powwered at 12V) Bypass can be buffered or true-bypass (switch at the bottom).
  10. Classic bass synth pedal. It's seen a lot of action and it has a few marks and scratches, but it's only cosmetic.
  11. Great tracking, can take expression pedal/footswitches for more control over the parameters. Light home use only, great condition cosmetic and otherwise. Pretty sure I still have the box in my 'box of boxes' in the shed.
  12. This Saturday, playing with Nine Lives in a tiny place in NE Scotland called Keith, specifically The Railway Club...
  13. A mandatory fee set by eBay. Never underestimate the ability of these people to find new ways to extract money from you. This is why selling is free, the buyer is now paying for the privilege of buying from you and eBay.
  14. It's nice that they modelled basses on Triumph gear selector cams.
  15. It's the new "Buyer Protection Fee" ("Nice item you've got there, wouldn't want anything to happen to it would we?"). More information here.
  16. Some close ups as requested.
  17. I always thought one of the biggest draws of a Sandberg was how light they are without any chambering…maybe the older ones are heavier?
  18. Some chill grooves for a rainy Tuesday morning.
  19. Just curious. Was killing time at used basses and a fairly large number carried BIN prices of £208.68. On a second look it appears prices ending with .68 or with an '8' in general are just as common. Anyone an idea why ?
  20. ***PRICE DROP NOW £1300*** 2010 US Stingray, 2EQ, CAR with rosewood board. One of the limited edition 133 basses, full fat ‘ray but with a soft gig bag case instead of a hard shell job. This is in excellent condition with one very minor ding on the top edge, and the pickguard is quite marked but obviously easily replaceable. Comes with a Hipshot D-tuner (long key though instead of short… doh), if you want the original tuner key I’ll chuck it in. I’ve also replaced the pickup with a Nordstrand MM4.2, which sounds flippin’ great. She’s quite heavy (10lb) but with a decent wide strap it feels ok. ***EDIT*** now comes with the option of a Warwick Rockbass semi-rigid case - photos added. Loathe to post this but can at buyer’s (insured) expense, or can meet in person at either Portsmouth, Southsea, Southampton or Lymington (I’m on the I.O.W.)

  21. It did sound very good, though I was using the Tech21 for the drive and the preamp on the bass for any EQ so trying to keep the RM as just an amp stage. For some reason I prefer to get any colouration from pedals, bass and cab rather than the amp. Always have. No idea why.
  22. Today
  23. Ive managed to find a guitar box, so delivery is now an option
  24. 25. I would say no... unless you feel West Indians shouldn't play punk or heavy metal. But the lyrics do some dodgy stereotyping. https://www.theguardian.com/music/2025/jan/23/10ccs-graham-gouldman-every-west-indian-person-ive-spoken-to-loves-dreadlock-holiday-but-i-wouldnt-write-certain-lines-now
  26. Might need to smash more than the one 😆. How is this tuned out of interest?
